To obtain the PoE signal, connect the power supply wires to the "Power" screw terminal, while the signal pairs to the RJ45 port described as "LAN". The PoE signal is received on the "PoE" RJ45 port. The signal splitting is analogous - the PoE signal should be connected to the "PoE" RJ45 port, while the "Power" screw terminal and "LAN" RJ45 port receive separated signals. The surge protection is provided by gas discharge tubes (GDT) surge arresters that discharge surge energy to the earth. The power supply channel uses also semiconductor elements that protect against overvoltages emerging between the lines.
