Advantages of Industrial Ethernet Many wenglor customers already use Industrial Ethernet in their applications because of its diverse advantages. Compared to the installation effort of usual Bus systems, Industrial Ethernet can be integrated quicker and easier. The information exchange with the products connected via Ethernet runs at ultra speed because of high band width and realtime communication. The normal data protocols also include service data and can be read out and analyzed easily. Telemaintenance is also possible. The connection of different installations and components can be done completely flexibly and adapted to the respective technology. 3 3 Power over Ethernet (PoE) Ethernet Variety No matter which Industrial Ethernet Standard you use, wenglor Ethernet products can be integrated into your existing structure. The wenglor Ethernet product range covers the most important Industrial Ethernet versions: EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT or PROFI- NET You are free to decide! wenglor Ethernet products get their Power via Ethernet. This reduces the wiring effort considerably, you just need one cable for data transfer and power supply. Like this, the wenglor products are integrated quick and easily into your existing Industrial Ethernet infrastructure. The housing of all wenglor Ethernet products stays as compact as before. 4 4 Ethernet Products Photoelectronic Sensors and Ident Products Different, well-proven wenglor products are now equipped with Ethernet and Power over Ethernet for the first time ever. In the range of Photoelectronic Sensors, the Transit Time Sensor and the highly accurate Reflex Sensor with Background Suppression are available as the first All-in-one Sensors. From the Ident product range the compact image processing Vision Sensor and a new CCD Scanner will take part in the Ethernet-Revolution. Switches In order to connect the new Photoelectronic Sensors, Vision Sensors and Scanners in your installation via Industrial Ethernet for your control, wenglor of course offers the suitable switches. You have the choice of connecting two or up to seven Ethernet products over the Switches. Additionally two digital 4-pin M12 1 IO-Ports are available. The wenglor Switches are available with or without Power over Ethernet. Master The Master links between the products and Industrial Ethernet. They are equipped with several Ports and two Industrial Ethernet Ports.

5 5 Connection Box The Connection Box is available in the variants with EtherNet/ IP, EtherCAT or PROFINET. It integrates up to eight Sensors with digital Inputs and puts easily and quickly into your Industrial Ethernet. Webpage integrated wenglor integrates for the first time a web server directly into the Ethernet Sensors, 1D Code Scanner and Switches. Without additional software you can now access the webpage of your wenglor product. Over the clear user interface in your web browser you can quickly setup your wenglor product to read out all data. Connection Technology and Midspan Adapter The Ethernet product range is completed through further system components. The new Connection Cables and Lines are tailored for Power over Ethernet and suit perfectly in your machine due to the different lengths available. Also for PROFINET, wenglor supplies the suitable cable solution. 14 Technical Glossary 14 A Analog port: A hardware interface for analog inputs or outputs. D Digital I/O / analog port: A hardware interface for analog and digital inputs and outputs. J Junction (EtherCAT): Junctions are active network components allowing for the transmission of signals to appropriate network users. P Pin: Insert a contact pin or contact coupling for connectors or sockets. Digital I/O port: A hardware interface for digital inputs and outputs. E Ethernet Port: A hardware interface to Ethernet-capable components. Ethernet: Digital data interface. technology that specifies software and hardware for cable connected data networks. I Industrial Ethernet Port: A hardware interface to Industrial Ethernet components. IODD: The IO Device Description is an electronic data sheet for products. IODD's contain specific unit setting parameters. The IODD's for products are available at Master: products are connected with the Master. It provides the interface for the heterodyned controller and controls the communication with the connected products. PoE: Power over Ethernet (PoE) is the designation for a process by means of which the 8-conductor Ethernet cable is used by devices for supply power, as well as for data exchange. The IEEE802.3af standard is used for this purpose. S Switch: A Switch is an active network component which distributes data to the corresponding addressees within a network in a targeted fashion. Parameter: Via the parameter, settings (e. g. NO/NC, On/Off delay) can be sent from the Master to the connected products and be read out. The first 12 parameters can be set via the software of the Master. IO-link port: A hardware interface for IO link capable components. Process Data: Via the Process Data (view documentation), data (e. g. switching status, received signals) is transferred from the products cyclic to the Master. : is a standardized communication system for the connection of intelligent sensors and actuators with an automation system.
