4 . Preparation Before using, user must prepare some tool and software following :. Personal computer which install Window 98SE/ME/XP, text editor program, MPLAB, MPASM and Miracle-PIC software MPLAB and MPASM are licenced by Microchip Technology, for more information please contact at (included in CD-ROM when order AX- board) Miracle-PIC is licenced by Innovative Experiment Co.Ltd. Please contact at (included in CD-ROM when order AX- board). Write program, set beginning address at 0x0000 and save file in.asm. Assembler.ASM file by MPASM with selected INHX8M type. So it will be HEX file.. Prepare DC adpator 6-0V 00mA.. Activity Procedure. Connect AX- with PC s parallel port.. Supply voltage to AX- board, green LED at RUN mode is bright.. Press MODE switch for select PROGRAM mode, red LED at PGM is bright.. Open mpicflash.exe (after install Miracle PIC flash software). Select PICF67 microcontroller. 6. Open HEX file. 7. Erase data in microcontroller by pressed 8. Check blank data in microcontroller by pressed 9. Program data into microcontroller by pressed 0. Check the result by pressed and notice. In case, protect data. Select code protection in View Configuration and select CP All at Code Protect box. These protection have to choose before program code to microcontroller. Moreover, users can protect data from EEPROM by select CPD in Configuration.. After programming completed, press MODE switch to RUN mode. Microcontroller will runs your own program.. In case save the experiment code into disk, user can do by select File menu Save file As. Because PICF67 can select many Configuration types, Users or Experimenters must select carefully. Sometime user select not correct, microcontroller cannot work although the code will correct. AX- : PICF67 Activity board

System Requirement CPU Pentium 0MHz or higher MB Harddisk free space 6MB RAM Install Windows98SE/ME/XP Parallell port CD-ROM drive. Installation software The main software thsat use with AX- board is called Miracle PIC Flash V.6. However AX- programming hardware can usse with any programming software such as melab Programmer software and EPICWIN (from MicroEngineering Labs; WINPIC800 (select parallel port hardware). Begin installation by enter to Software folder in AX- CD-ROM. Select miraclepic folder. Enter to double-click setup file. Installation window will appear and do step by step until installation complete. Check the installation by enter to Start Program Miracle PIC Miracle PIC.6. Main window of MiraclePIC Flash software will open. AX- : PICF67 Activity board

Main Control Button Open Save PROGRAM VERIFY : Open HEX file : Save source code in HEX file : Program all data into program memory and EEPROM : Test program; compare data in buffer with MCU s data READ : Read data from selected microcontroller and also read parameter BLANK CHECK : Check blank data inside microcontroller ERASE : Delete data in program memory of selected microcontroller. This function used with flash microcontroller memory or EEPROM only. For example, PIC6C8 or PIC 6Fxxx Selection box. Menu description.. File.. View : Just click at the arrow. User will see many MCU lising. For AX- board, select PICF67 Open file - To open file.hex Save file As - To save data in another file name Recent files - To open recently file Exit - Quit To see all parameter of PIC microcontroller Program Buffer (F) - shows code in program memory (figure ). User can edit by select memory position and input value directly or use Fill Progran Bufer Function Data Buffer (F) - shows all data EEPROM (figure ). User can edit data by select memory position and input value directly or use Fill Progran Buffer Function Configuration (F9) - shows detail of PIC configuration. User can enable or disable all parameter. Calibrating OSCCAL - select to calibrate the oscillator calibration value in INTRC mode of PICF69/67/PIC6F60 and 676 Count Program - show number of programmed microcontroller (not use this function in JX-68) Stay on top - Make the program always on the top 6 AX- : PICF67 Activity board

This is detail of them. Oscillator - select clock mode, there are 8 types (for PICF67) LP - low cystal (not use in AX- board) XT - normal cystal not over MHz (not use in AX- board HS - Over MHz high frequency xt (not use in AX- board) EXTCLK - External Clock (not use in AX- board) INTRC - Internal RC circuit (recommended for AX- ) EXTRC (ER) - External RC circuit (not use in AX- board) INTRC clockout - Internal RC circuit and send fosc/ clock signal out OSC pin. (not use in AX- board) EXTRC clockout - External RC circuit and send fosc/ clock out OSC pin. User can select OSC pin to RA6 port pin or Clock out pin (not use in AX- board) AX- : PICF67 Activity board 7

Configuration - To select special ability of PIC miocrocontroller, it depends on type of microcontroller. For PICF67 has functions ; WDT (watchdog Timer) PWRT (Power-up Timer) MCLR (Master ClearReset) : for select MCLR function to RESET. If not select, this pin assigned to RA input port pin. BODEN (Brown-out Reset).. Device Select number of PIC microcontroller (For AX- board, select PICF67).. Command Arrange reading, writing and testing data in microcontroller memory Program Chip (F) - Program code and data to microcontroller as PROGRAM button Verify Chip (F) or incorrect as VERIFY button Read Chip (F6) Erase Chip (F7) Blank Chip (F8) as BLANK CHECK button - Check writing data in PIC microcontroller correct - Read data from microcontroller as READ button - Delete data in PIC microconrtoller as ERASE button - Check blank data in PIC microcontroller memory 8 AX- : PICF67 Activity board
9 ..6 Option Separate parts; Part Program/Verify Program - check latest programming in microcontroller with buffer. Program/Verify Data - check data in microcontroller memory after latest programming Program/Verify ID - checking ID value in microcontroller after latest programming Program/Verify Configuration - check configuration value after latest programming automatic. Part Special feature in Miracle-PIC programmer software section Auto verify after program - check data after completely programming Auto erase before program - delete data before programming Part Special feature in Miracle-PIC programmer software section Confirm erase message - select to show warning message before erase data in Program memory Reload file before program - when checked, will cause the latest version of the.hex file to be loaded before the device is programmed. The configuration fuse settings will also be updated, if Options Update Configuration From File is checked. This will override any current manual settings. Update config when reload file - when checked, will cause the configuration fuse settings to be changed to the settings in the file. If it is not checked, the configuration fuse settings will not be changed. Play sound when finish - select to generate sound after the latest operation finished.
