2 Scope The scope of work covered under this specification comprises of supply, delivery, inspection, installation, commissioning and On-Site Comprehensive Warranty of following hardware for Online Decision Support system at NPCIL KGS. 6 .0 Pre-Dispatch Inspection Manufacturer shall have the following facilities: A. Licensed version of suitable diagnostic software to test hardware components such as motherboard and its components like chipset, DNA controller, memory controller, input/output controller and availability of bad sectors on hard disk drives. It should also be possible to check serial, parallel & USB ports using special loop back connectors. Suitable software should also be available for checking the keyboard and for bench marking other software components. B. Suitable pattern generator software to check the monitors of different characteristic. Following Quality tests (Tentative) shall be carried out at the supplier s premises on all Workstations and reports shall be submitted to NPCIL representative. NPCIL representative may carry out the tests on Workstation. Final Quality test shall be mutually agreed by NPCIL and supplier. 3.1 Visual inspection: Visual inspection shall be carried out to check that the make and model of the components and the subsystems are as per the P.O. or better. 3. Configuration Test: Suitable test programs shall be run on Workstation to check/ confirm that hardware configuration is as per the P.O. 3.3 Burn Test: Burn test shall be conducted on Workstation for at least 100 hrs. 3.4 Functional Tests for Workstation a. RAID Configuration Configure RAID-1 in the hard disks. Remove one hard disk while some action like copy is going on to demonstrate the functionality of RAID-1. The data shall not get corrupt or the service shall not be interrupted b. Hot Swap Remove any hard disk while server is running and replace. The same shall be reflected and the space shall be shown accordingly without a break in availability. c. DVD/CD-RW combo drive and USB drive Functioning of DVD/Combo drive and USB drive is to be demonstrated. 5

7 3.0 Warranty The system shall carry a comprehensive onsite maintenance warranty of three years for workstation, Monitor and one year for SMS Modem from the date of Final Acceptance. The scope of warranty shall include repair or replacement of all defective parts or failed components including plastic parts, break down maintenance, installing/re-installing of software and installation of operating systems patches without any charges. The software shall be bug free. If any bug is found in the software, the supplier shall ensure correction in a reasonable agreed time. During warranty period, if any hard disk of the Workstation is corrupted or is unrepairable at NPCIL premises, it is to be replaced with new hard disk by the vendor without any charges. In case the vendor requires the faulty hard disk back, the same will be returned after degaussing due to security/privacy regulations. Warranty period starts from the date of final acceptance. The vendor shall make their own arrangement for transport and labor for maintenance of the systems during Warranty period. During Warranty period without affecting Warranty conditions specified in, 1. NPCIL reserves the right to install any licensed software on the machines and the supplier shall install the same without any charges.. NPCIL reserves the right to install any standard hardware (including additional RAM, add on cards, HDD, DVD writer etc.) procured from any sources. The same shall be installed under the supervision of the supplier. 3. During warranty period, in case any user wants to install any other licensed operating software, it shall be installed. 4.1 Warranty Extension ( for Workstation & Monitor) During the Warranty period, break-down maintenance call should be attended within next working day of NPCIL. The total down time of any Workstation / Monitor shall not exceed 16 hours in a month. During the warranty period if any Workstation / Monitor is continuously down for more than 16 hours in a month, then following warranty extension shall apply for each such incidence: > 16 Hrs to 4 Hrs Extension by 4 days > 4 Hrs to 3 Hrs Extension by 6 days Beyond 3 Hrs. Extension by 15 days Note: i. All down time hours are counted between 9.30 AM and 5:30 PM on all working days of NPCIL. ii. Above warranty extension clause shall apply during each extended period also. 6

8 4.0 Qualifying Criteria for Bidders : AS PER NIT 5.0 Delivery and Installation Schedule: Supply: Items shall be delivered at NPCIL KGS Stores, KGS, Kaiga within 10 Weeks from the date of Purchase Order Installation & Commissioning: Items shall be installed and commissioned within 4 weeks from the date of intimation of site readiness. 7

Scope: This specification covers the design, material, construction features, manufacture, inspection and testing at the manufacturer s works, packing, transportation and delivery at the place of installation, erection and commissioning of UPS along with battery of required capacity complete with all accessories and features as per specification. The UPS should have the network interface through which the power failure /power restore signal is transmitted to the Workstation. Note: UPS with External/additional charger for batteries is acceptable. 5. Functional requirement: UPS shall be dual conversion type. Input supply first shall be converted to DC by IGBT based rectifier and then DC output shall be converted to AC by IGBT based inverter. In the event of supply failure or rectifier failure, battery will act as input to inverter. Supplier shall indicate all protection, control and monitoring function of UPS. Provision shall be made for grounding connection of UPS. 6. Submittals after placement of order for our review and approval. 4

Tests Successful bidder has to provide their detailed Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).The QAP shall be prepared to ensure that the specifications mentioned here are to be tested for quality assurance. A typical Quality Assurance plan (QAP) is attached for your reference in Table-I. Required test procedure for test given in clause no 7.1 shall be submitted for purchaser approval within 0 days from the date of purchase order. 7.1 Following routine tests on UPS shall be conducted in presence of NPCIL representative at the place of supplier s premises. a) Visual inspection, workmanship, dimensional check. b) Steady state output voltage and frequency variation for 0 to 100% load variation and supply voltage variation. c) Interruption free operation of load after tripping of input supply. d) Measurement of efficiency at 100% load. e) Test for shutting down Desktop/ Server. f) Test for LCD display for all parameters g) Test on battery as per standard 7. Installation and commissioning tests at place of installation a) Check installation of UPS as per installation procedure. b) Functional tests c) Guarantee test for seven days continuous running with available loads. 8. 19 I Note:- AH capacity shall be calculate/ verified as per following :- Minimum Aging factor 1.5 will be taken for calculation, if value is provided less than 1.5. Minimum Design factor 1.1 will be taken for calculation, if value is provided less than 1.1. Power factor for above calculation 0.8 shall be considered for calculation.
