Dril-Quip has approached rig operational safety with a revolutionary marine drilling riser system. Traditional riser deployment can be a hazardous exercise because it requires personnel working at the rotary table for riser joint make-up. The Dril-Quip HFRe marine drilling riser connection eliminates the need for rig personnel for this task. This can greatly improve rig safety during riser deployment and retrieval. The HFRe riser connector delivers superior performance and capacities in a preloaded connection without using bolts or rotating collars. The unique hands free feature ensures a positive connection and significantly reduced joint make-up time. The HFRe connector s high-bending strength and fatigue resistance results in a long-life, high-performance system required for harsh deep-water floating drilling applications.
