2 CS-200 Base Swap Process The following steps will guide you through the removal of the base and installation of a new base. Replacing the Base The following steps are performed when replacing the base 1. Disconnecting the old base 2. Connecting the new base 3. Installing the new base Base Components CS-200 Fee-Franking Meter Base Note: It is extremely important that you follow the steps outlined in this document Disconnecting The Old Base 1. Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. This will turn off the CS Disconnect the power adapter from the CS-200. Put the power adapter aside; it will be connected to the new base. 3. Disconnect the USB cable on the internet adapter or phone modem from the CS-200. Put the internet adapter or phone modem aside. Page 1

3 4. Place the CS-200 onto its back to access the PSD cover. Open the PSD cover by pushing down on the tab. 5. Remove the PSD by sliding it up and then out of the base. Put the PSD aside; it will be re-installed in the new base. Close the PSD cover. Connecting The New Base 1. Open the base door of the new CS-200 and remove the cardboard packaging. Close the base door. Do not install the ink cartridge at this time. 2. Place the new CS-200 onto its back to access the PSD cover. Open the PSD cover by pushing down on the tab. 3. Re-install the PSD by sliding it in and then down. Close the PSD cover. If the PSD cover does not close properly, the PSD is not installed correctly. 4. Turn the new base back to an upright position. 4 5. Reconnect the USB cable on the internet adapter or phone modem to the USB port on the new CS Connect the power adapter to the back of the new CS Connect the power cable to the wall outlet. This will turn on the CS-200. Installing The New Base 1. Press Next to continue to install the new base. 2. Ensure the LAN connection or phone modem is connected to the base and the cable from the internet adapter or analogue modem is connected to the internet or phone outlet. Press NEXT. Page 3

5 3. Depending on your connection type, one of the following will be displayed: - LAN (Internet) - Modem Press OK. 4. To check the connection to the server press OK or Continue. 5. The call is connecting to the server. Do not interrupt this process. 7. Press OK for the machine to establish a connection to the server to activate the base. 8. The transaction is in progress. Do not interrupt this process. 9. Transaction successful. Press OK to continue. 11. Press OK to begin the Headset Replacement Process Page 4

6 12. It is now time to install the headset. Press OK to continue. 13. To Install the headset, Open the front Cover 14. Pull the Blue lever to the open position 15. Fit the headset and then click the blue lever back to the closed position 16. Select OK to carry out the headset alignment process 17. Place an envelope into the print area towards the back right corner. The unit will perform a test print. When the process is complete remove the envelope. You may have to carry this test out several times to align the head correctly. Page 5

7 18. Select the letter that indicates the straightest line and then select OK 19. Press Yes to restore the settings of your previous base. 20. The transaction is in progress. Do not interrupt this process. 21. The data has been successfully restored. Press OK. 22. The base replacement process has now been completed. Press OK. Before processing mail, disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet and reconnect it. Page 6
