1 YCCS Manager and Coordinator Installation Instructions YKSMUx00, YKZCUxx00 56YIMC0 Applications The York Commercial Comfort (YCCS) Manager and Coordinator supervisory controllers bring an entirely new generation of Building Automation (BAS) technology to light commercial systems. These supervisory controllers use Internet Technology (IT) and BACnet MasterSlave/TokenPassing (MS/TP) communication to provide supervisory level control of light commercial BASs. All Manager models and select Coordinator models feature an intuitive color touchscreen User Interface (UI) that provides the ability to schedule, trend, and adjust parameters for the entire building. The supervisory controllers require no programming and have predefined point lists for the mechanical equipment configuration used within the facility. Both devices support remote access via a standard Web browser or any computer connected to the building network. orth American Emissions Compliance United States This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device pursuant to Part 5 of the FCC Rules. 8 56YIMC0 Communication Table 5: Communication Address Summary Determining the Manager Address Switch The Manager address switch is always set to 0; therefore, you do not need to determine the Manager address. Determining the Coordinator Address The address switch sets a unique address for this controller on the Communication. The default address setting is 55 (all ). You must change the default address. Set consecutive addresses 7 for Coordinator on the Communication. Use sequential addressing with no gaps in the device address range to ensure best performance. Figure : Interference YCCS Manager and Coordinator Installation Instructions FIG:intrfrnc Address Powering n the Manager and Coordinator FIG:ZC_swtch_sets Coordinator on the Communication Daisychained RS5 protocol networks require EndofLine () termination to reduce interference. Interference is caused by signal reflection that occurs when data transmissions reach the end of a bus segment and bounce back (Figure ). The high baud rates on MasterSlave/TokenPassing (MS/TP) bus applications require robust termination and strict adherence to the termination rules. Figure 6: Coordinator Address Switch Detail Description Disconnecting Power from the Manager and Coordinator Address 7

9 56YIMC0 peration n a YCCS bus or bus, only one termination is required due to the fewer number of devices on one bus and the shorter wiring length. Specifically, the bus must always have a Manager as the device, and the bus must always have a Coordinator as the device. Figure 9 shows a YCCS wiring example. For information on heating and cooling modes, zone voting, and other Coordinator and Manager functions, refer to the York Commercial Comfort (YCCS) peration verview Technical Guide (6357). 10 56YIMC0 Troubleshooting Use the following information to troubleshoot the Manger and Coordinator. Status LEDs The Manager and Coordinator include LEDs that indicate communication and alarm status for the controller. Table 6 lists LED descriptions. Table 6: Status LEDs LED Description Green The controller is getting power from the VAC power supply and unacknowledged alarms are not present. Red The controller is getting power from the VAC power supply and unacknowledged alarm conditions are present. ff Controller is not receiving VAC power or the controller is in startup mode. Communication Problems Several factors may influence the behavior of the Communication. In addition, certain problems can affect the in multiple ways and have multiple symptoms, which makes the exact diagnosis difficult. For example, duplicate addresses on the can degrade performance, make the device go offline, or stop communication completely. Incomplete Address The YKZCUxx00 Coordinator must have the address switch set between 7 on the Communication ; other settings prevent the Coordinator from communicating on the Communication. Duplicate Addresses Two or more devices on a communication cannot have the same address. For example, two Coordinators on the Communication cannot both have an address of. If two devices on the same have the same address, performance can degrade or serious communication problems may occur. These problems include the devices not coming online and all communication stopping completely. Check for duplicate addresses, in the following ways, depending on the severity of the situation: If the performance is degraded, check the address switch settings at the devices with unreliable communications. If the communication problems are severe, and no communication is present, or you can not determine where communication is unreliable, partition (disconnect and isolate a portion of the for testing purposes) and test the portion connected to the Manager and Coordinator controllers. Correcting Physical Communication Problems The communication bus is subject to a number of physical factors that can affect performance. Consider the following list of common physical problems that affect the communications bus: Check status LED to verify power at the controller Check wires Verify wire is AWG (0.6 mm) 3conductor, twisted, shielded cable. Verify shield is continuous and hardgrounded at one end. Check wiring Check for and eliminate TTaps (wire configurations that create a T shape) and star configurations. Ensure bus is wired in daisychain fashion. Verify that appropriate devices have three wires entering and exiting each terminal (devices at the ends of the trunk do not have this wiring). Check switch settings Verify the zone bus switch on the Coordinator is set to and the Coordinator is located at the end of the zone bus trunk. Verify that only the switch at the end of the system bus is set to and all other system bus switches are set to FF. Check connections, polarity, and lengths Verify communications loops are less than approximately 30 m (,000 ft) total in length. If you are using one transformer to power multiple devices, verify the device VAC power connection follows the polarity of the common and V terminations. Check for opens and shorts Check terminations Check for sources of interference 0 YCCS Manager and Coordinator Installation Instructions
