Drable Connections for Harsh Environments 200A DS200 s distribte power from portable generators to a power distribtion panel (pictred) and then to conveyors and other electrical eqipment. A DSN24c Mltipin connector (left of the panel) provides control wire connections to the PLC cabinet in a single convenient connector. Meltric plgs and receptacles offer sperior drability and are better sited for se in dsty and dirty environments than are pin and sleeve devices. Conveyor Connections DECONTACTOR receptacle - dead front prevents nintended exposre to live parts. The design of the prodct ensres that the plg contacts are dead before the ser can remove the plg from the receptacle. 5 Pmp Power Spply Weatherproof Performance TYPE 4X rated DSN DECONTACTOR A 200A, Type 3R rated DS Series DECONTACTOR connects power to a float pmp via a direct monting configration. When reqired, the DS receptacle can be disconnected so a pmp is easily relocated to another retention pond. Meltric offers plgs and receptacles with ratings p to Type 4X or IP66+IP67. DS Series Decontactors are rainproof Type 3R rated devices, while the DSN Series is Type 4X and IP66+IP67 rated for even harsher environments. Both achieve their rated watertightness simply by mating the plg with the receptacle. In contrast, many competitive pin and sleeve devices also reqire the tightening of an additional threaded ring to achieve their rated watertightness. The threads on these rings do not hold p in dirty/dsty environments. In designing its prodcts, Meltric ses rgged casing materials, stainless steel hardware and silver-nickel contact srfaces to ensre drability, corrosion resistance and long operating lives. For example, the silver-nickel contacts withstand wear and maintain excellent condctivity even when oxidized. Silver-nickel only welds at extremely high temperatre and pressre, and ths, also withstands arcs very well. In contrast, competitors brass contacts are not arc resistant and, as shown in the chart above, their electrical performance degrades rapidly with oxidation.

7 High Hp Motor Connections Mechanical Locking Device High Amperage Capacity Power to a 500 horsepower crsher motor is spplied by the parallel phasing of two 400A PF plgs and receptacles. Meltric s PF Series plgs and receptacles are specifically engineered for se in high amperage applications and are rated for loads p to 600A. They have large and robst solid silver contacts that close with a lateral wiping motion, providing a self-cleaning action and an optimal connection. PF s are encased in rgged, epoxy coated alminm hosings and inclde a mechanical locking featre, which ensres watertightness, prevents accidental disconnection, and controls the for axiliary pilot contacts that are provided as standard. All PF and PFQ devices featre epoxy coated alminm casings, silver contacts, IP67 environmental ratings, mechanical locking and integral pilot contacts. The epoxy coated alminm casings provide excellent drability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The silver contacts ensre maximm condctivity and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The contacts are pressre loaded to provide consistent contact force and operate with a lateral wiping motion, which provides a self-cleaning action that improves performance in dirty conditions. The mechanical locking device secres the inlet to the receptacle, preventing accidental disconnection, and it also engages the axiliary contacts. DR s are commonly sed in power distribtion applications p to 250A and 600VAC. DXN s are CSA listed for Class 1 Division 2 and Class 2 Division 2 environments.
