9 OPTIONS Hand-Held Controller Rugged hand-held controller is a valuable option on most machines, especially larger ones, or in situations where setup calls for precise motion. Assembled in an impact resistant polycarbonate case and includes shrouded switches in key positions to prevent accidental selection. Available on ZNC and CNC models. Multiple Work Leads The multi-lead option allows for exponential increases in production of mass produced parts per EDM machine. Available in 2, 4, or 6 lead configuration. Whether you need to do a quick burn or an intricate procedure, the Advantage has the tools for you do get the job done. QUICK BURN The EDM Zap Advantage Quick Burn is a convenient and simple tool for jobs that don t require programming. The operator simply slides the single control to choose settings based on resulting sizes and surface characteristics. Current, On-Time, Off-Time, and other parameters are set automatically. CUSTOM PROGRAMS Shops can benefit from custom programs in the ZNC and CNC models to set all the functions while the computer performs the operations in series. Programs can be saved and even exported out to other Advantage Power Supplies. Great for production or repeat jobs making your EDM equipment more efficient. USB & ETHERNET FEATURES With the ZNC/CNC, the USB and ethernet connection allows for programming backups, reporting, and more. PROGRAM PROTECTION Password protect cutting parameters and protect the job from inadvertent operator changes.

12 ADVANCED MATERIALS AND SETUP Selecting materials and setting up a job is simple but also powerful. MATERIALS The ZNC and CNC models include a comprehensive list of materials charts that help configure the settings for maximum performance. Supports overburn, surface finish, electrode wear, recast layer depth, and heat affected zone depth. Supports 100 different combinations of workpiece and electrode materials. Users also have the ability to add new materials based on existing reference data. SETUP The setup screen on the ZNC and CNC versions have powerful capabilities that make setting up a job quicker and easier. With variable speed jog, machine and program display, automated homing, and edge find. The Advantage also includes a safety sense circuit that reduces the chances from damage caused by a collision between the workpiece and the electrode. HIGH SPEED JUMP CYCLE The Advantage ZNC and CNC feature an automatic jump cycle which makes it possible to cut deep, flushless detail into the workpiece. Whether the application is a deep rib in a plastic mold or the precise detail in a turbine, the jump cycle makes cutting the thin, deep detail easy. In addition, motion is applied smoothly with a precisely applied S-curve motion profile. This sophisticated move provides for extremely high move velocities with rapid acceleration and deceleration while the S profile keeps the acceleration smooth and avoids the shock that would disturb the cut. 13 EXTENSIVE REPORTING CAPABILITIES With the ability to record and report various events, the Advantage gives you the information you need. Whether it is daily reports, error logs, wattage reports, or others; every entry is recorded and date and time stamped. REPORTING The Advantage ZNC and CNC models include the ability to record and report various events. Store events on a flash drive or print them with a local or network printer. The audit trail makes it possible to track events that affect surface characteristics and cutting time. The enterprise solid state storage makes it possible to record and store up to 10 years worth of history. NEED BETTER REPORT SCREEN WATTAGE REPORTING AND CONTROL Included in the Advantage is the technology to limit heat input without affecting surface finish or electrode wear characteristics. This technology evaluates heat input in real time and dynamically adjusts cutting parameters to hold wattage at predefined limits. PRINTING Data is recorded using redundant storage to two separate recording devices to safeguard data. Graphs can be printed directly from the Advantage control on a local printer or sent to a network printer in a remote location. All graphs include calibration certificate information.

14 ADVANCED ARC PROTECTION: SAFETY AND STABILITY The Advantage control has one of the most sophisticated arc protection systems ever designed. The control employs an adaptive technology to maintain an aggressive cutting level, while intervening as needed to produce a high level of protection. Additional safeguards protect the cut such as the ability to automatically maintain safe Off-Time ratios, even when manually changed by an operator. ELECTRONICS The Advantage Series Power Supplies include cutting edge electronics that will yield optimum performance in a variety of conditions. The all digital output section manipulates the energy to improve performance. Fiber optic connections to the output boards assure perfect timing and guarantee that all of the output transistors operate at the same time. The result is increased performance because of the clean connection and reduction in electrical noise from traditional methods.
