As such, all care should be taken to ensure appropriate procedures are in place when handling and installing Genesis devices. This may include, but is not limited to wearing an appropriately earthed, conductive wrist strap to limit electrostatic discharge into Genesis devices.

4 Features and Benefits: The Genesis I/O Expander connects directly to the Genesis Master Unit or Genesis Expander Unit with a 16 pin ribbon cable, quickly and easily expanding the number of inputs and outputs provided on each device. Points to Note: Removal of the Serial Number from any Genesis device will immediately void any warranty applicable to it, or any interconnected Genesis device. The I/O Expander provides an additional 16 four state monitored inputs, as well as 4 change over relay contacts. Designed as an integral part of any Genesis system, the I/O Expander board fits into the standard Genesis metal equipment cabinet, right next to the Master or Expander Unit. IF SWITHING OF MAINS SUPPLY VOLTAGE IS REQUIRED, A SEPARATE BUFFER RELAY OR ONTATOR MUST BE INSTALLED TO LOAL OR STATE STANDARDS. 5 Mounting: The I/O Expander is designed to mount alongside the GEN-001 Master Unit, or GEN-010 Expander Unit, that it is being connected to. - Avoid installing the I/O Expander outdoors. - Avoid installing the I/O Expander where it may be exposed to moisture, either directly (Rain, Sprinklers, Hoses), or by condensation. Input Layout and Wiring: 16 Input Terminals, with individual common returns are supplied on the Genesis I/O Expander. The Genesis Genesis I/O Expander allows for each input to have a different End of Line resistor value. (up to 16 EOL values). This includes tamper monitoring, through Dual End of Line resistors. The Genesis panel is supplied with the following resistor combination as standard: = Sealed 14.7KΩ = Alarm ( + 4.7KΩ) However, these values can be changed from within the Genesis Technician Software, to suit most resistor configurations. Different detection devices may require wiring in a different fashion to these examples. Inputs 17 to 24 Input 25 to 32 I/O EXPANDER BUS This 16 pin socket is provided for connection between the GEN-001 Master Unit and the GEN-020 I/O Expander, or the GEN-010 Expander Unit and the GEN-020 I/O Expander.
