Press Accept to print the test coupon Not all printers have a Line Feed button. It can also be labeled Reset Count. Cleaning the Burster Groove The burster groove becomes full of small pieces of paper after cutting multiple tickets and can eventually cause the printer to jam. The burster groove needs to be cleaned occasionally using the burster groove cleaning tool supplied with the printer. If the tool cannot be located, a nail file (or something similar) works. The burster groove is where the ticket cutting wheel travels while cutting through the ticket perforation. It can be located by turning off the printer, removing the Stacker, and the top of the printer. Move the printhead to the far right. The cutter engages when you reach the right edge. As you move the printhead back to the left, the cutter can be viewed traveling in a small groove called the burster groove. Once the printhead reaches the left side, the burster disengages. 01/00 Page 49

59 WORLDSPAN Expert Program Lesson: Printer Training TI885 Problem Ribbon Reversing Eyelet in Printhead Path Stacker Incorrectly Seated Stock too Thick for Printer Stock is Tented Tractor Feeds are too Close Together Solution If the ribbon reversing eyelet is too thin and travels beyond the reversing arm causing jamming in the printhead area, place a staple over the eyelet to make it thicker. Reposition the eyelet on the correct side of the reversing arm. If the ribbon is installed with the eyelet on the wrong side of the reversing arm or with the ribbon completely out of the reversing arm, reposition the eyelet on the correct side of the reversing arm. If the coupons jam behind each other, come out at once, or are incorrectly stacked, ensure the top lid is correctly seated and flush, and the stacker is properly seated on the printer. The maximum thickness of forms is six sheets, the original (top sheet) plus 5 copies. Stock at the beginning of a new box or at the end of a box tend to jam. This is caused by the stock not unfolding at the perforation section as it enters the printer. If the tractor feeds are too close together, paper feeds improperly through the paper path and causes jamming. If this occurs, adjust the right tractor feed by releasing the locking lever and sliding the tractor to the right. If the tractor does not slide easily, help the tractor along by moving the top part with one hand and the bottom part with the other. 01/00 Page 51
