The Default Settings box allowing you to choose the type of document run and change the path if needed 2. The Document Production option. This box allows you to add EZ options to the document. Templates When the printer configuration is complete, templates must be completed to allow CRT S to send document requests for any host documents. Host documents refers to paper tickets, electronic tickets (agent/auditor coupons), itinerary/invoices, and hardcopy information, generated to the printer from an input made in the Worldspan mainframe. Look at the types of printers used and how they are used. 36 Worldspan Go! Printer Operations The following templates distribute documents and should be updated. PowerPoint - 4 Templates to be modified for printer associations. Template Name Non-split document distribution template Itinerary/Invoice document distribution template Electronic Ticket document distribution template Entry 4G#MK 4G#ML 4G#ME You must have an FA duty code, which is a supervisor or manager level, in order to access these templates. Let s begin with the printer association template for Tickets. Application Sharing Instructor Before displaying the first distribution template, be sure to sign in to an area with an FA duty code. (For purposes of review or example, use BSIA0031P1/FA for the template distribution- if you have used logon PQ2pgarstad1) 1. Enter KGB to determine your CRT address. Page 36 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The CRT address for this workstation is FDE112. You should make a note of that CRT address. If you are the one completing templates for the office, the same entry displays the CRT address for each person in the office. It s a good idea to have all addresses before completing the distribution templates. Worldspan Go! opens to a default split res screen. For easier view, let s open a full screen. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 37
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations 2. Click the Full Window Layout button to open one large Res window. Page 38 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 39
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations 3. Enter 4G#MK to display the Tickets template. Here is the printer association template for Ticket printing. The first step in modifying all printer association templates is to ensure the status bar on the bottom of the screen indicates OVR (overtype). The overtype mode allows you to type over information in the template without adding additional spaces. If additional spaces are added to the template, an error appears when the template is submitted. Delete any unwanted characters by using the space bar. Do not use the delete key within a template. It removes spaces, which can cause an error when the template is submitted. Page 40 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The template displays the printer address (PTR), IATA and CRT addresses. If you are converting from Go! Res version 3.x, the dial-in printer address and the pseudo address still display until removed. It is necessary to update the template with newly assigned CRT and printer addresses. Assume the ticket type (TF) remains the same (H1), the ticket printer address is FDE101, and IATA remains For our example, we will add just one CRT address, FDE Begin on the first blank line and update the following information. Move between fields using the <TAB> key. TF H1 PTR FDE101 IATA CRT FDE112 When the information is complete, tab or click to the right of ENTER HERE WHEN COMPLETE, and then press <Enter>. (If needed, type over the last CRT address listed to add the new address to the list). 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 41
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations The information stores and the response UPDATE COMPLETE indicates the entry is accepted. Let s update the printer association for Itineraries. 5. Enter 4G#ML to display the Itinerary template. Then move down to the first available blank address line. Page 42 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The printer association template displays. It currently shows any CRT addresses that are associated with the printer. The newly assigned addresses must be added. If Pocket Itineraries and Divider Cards are used, they are included in this distribution mask, but directed to the ticket printer. 6. For this template, complete the OPT, PTR, IATA and CRT fields beginning on the first available line. OPT - LN OPT - PD PTR FDE102 PTR FDE101 IATA IATA CRT FDE112 CRT FDE112 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 43
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations Tab or click to the right of ENTER HERE WHEN COMPLETE, then press <Enter>. The addresses store and, again, the response UPDATE COMPLETE indicates the entry is accepted. Verbal Questions 1. What is the last template to be updated? a. 4G#ME (Electronic tickets) Page 44 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
Let s review the coupon types for electronic tickets. PowerPoint - 5 Coupon Types to be updated for the Electronic Tickets template. The following type codes (coupon types) can appear in the Electronic Tickets template. Type Code AUD AGT CHG PAX REA Name Auditors Agent Charge Form Passenger Refund Exchange Authorization Application Sharing 7. Enter 4G#ME to display the Electronic Tickets template, and then move to the bottom of the display. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 45
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations Here is the printer association template for Electronic Tickets. In this template, you should update CRT addresses for each document type indicated in the TYP column (TYP represents type). It is also good practice to verify the printer addresses for these coupons. In some cases the coupons are going to different printers (split documents). Verify this as you complete the template. For our class purposes, all coupons go to one printer. Page 46 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
8. Tab to each field and add the ticket type (TF), printer (PTR), IATA and CRT address for each coupon type Tab or click to the right of ENTER HERE WHEN COMPLETE, then press <Enter>. It might be easier to update each coupon type and verify the response UPDATE COMPLETE before moving to the next coupon. Continue the process for this template until all coupons are updated. (If all areas are full for the current association, type over the last address listed to add an additional address. There are 5 coupon types for electronic tickets.) 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 47
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations If there are any previous addresses for these coupon types, each new coupon type displays beneath the previous. Notice the new information for AUD displays directly below the old information. At this point it is advisable to move down and check each coupon type to insure the accuracy of the update. If you are a previous Worldspan Go! version 3 user, after a period of time warnings appear advising that cleanup needs to be done. To cleanup version 3 printer and CRT addresses, simply type DELETE over the old version printer address, tab to ENTER HERE WHEN COMPLETE and press <ENTER>. Next, let s look at starting and stopping the print queue and viewing the printer status. YSTP/TSTR and Printer Status Starting and stopping the flow of document requests is controlled by start and stop inputs. The capability to perform these functions is determined by printer/crt association. Any CRT associated to the distribution masks (4G#MK, 4G#ML and 4G#ME) can stop and start these printers. Once they are added to the template for these documents, they can perform the function. Since the hardcopy printer and interface address do not have templates, any applicable CRTs must be included in another display. This is called an associated printer (AP) display. Before you begin, it is important to verify the addresses for hardcopy and interface. To determine an address, the entry is JZXMSG DR XXXYY1P (where XXX=agency SID, and YY = routing code. RR Hardcopy and DT - Interface). Page 48 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
9. Determine the hardcopy printer address for SID I87. (JZXMSG DR I87RR1P) The address assigned to that routing displays. This verifies the hardcopy address is assigned. To verify the interface address, simply replace RR with DT in this entry. Assume you have checked the addresses for your SID and the hardcopy address is FDE103 and the interface address FDE104. The entry to check the associated printer display is: JZXMSG AP XXXXXX (XXXXXX = printer or interface address). 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 49
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations 10. Check the associated CRTs for hardcopy address FDE103. With Go! Res version 4.x, CRT addresses generally start with DAs Device Addresses) of 12 and higher. The first 4 addresses assigned to an agency should be automatically added to the associated printer display, but it is good practice to verify this. For this location, three addresses have capability to stop and start the hardcopy printer. If you have a large number of CRTs in your office, it is good practice to verify the CRTs assigned are the best for your location. If necessary, you can call the Help Desk and advise which CRTs are preferred. They can change the association for you. Page 50 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
Now, let s check the associated CRTs for the interface address. 11. Verify the printers associated to stop and start interface address FDE104. (JZXMSG AP FDE104) Again, the display verifies the same CRTs are associated and can be changed if necessary. Now, let s look at viewing the printer queue status and the stop and start entries. Look at the types of printer queues available. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 51
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations PowerPoint - 6 Queues and Printer Types The following queues display in the printer status display Queue Number Printer Type/Function 0 Diagnostic 1 Ticket 2 Boarding Pass 3 Itinerary OM 4 NA 5 Interface Record 6 Hard Copy 7 Itinerary TM 8 Electronic Ticket Application Sharing Assume a ticket you requested did not print. Let s check the status of the print queue. The entry to check the status is: JZXMSG DQ XXXXXX(XXXXXX = the printer address). Let s look. 12. Verify the print queue status for ticket printer FDE101. (JZXMSG DQ FDE101) Page 52 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The printer is in FAIL status indicating the document failed to print and is waiting in the print queue. The asterisk (*) next to a queue indicates the last message type received in the queue. Some action is required to start (activate) the printer. If you have previously used Go! Res version 3.x, note that with the installation of version 4.x, stop and start entries should only be required in the case of FAIL status on the print queue. The entry to start the printer queue is: YSTR followed by the printer address. A good way to remember it is Yes, STaRt the printer. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 53
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations 13. Start the printer. (YSTRFDE101) The response is OK indicating the printer queue is restarted. The response RESTRICTED indicates one of two things: The CRT making the entry is not in the mask for that printer association The printer address could perhaps be the old dialup printer address and no longer valid 14. Check the printer queue status. (JZXMSG DQ FDE101) Page 54 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The status display is VALID. This indicates the print queue is VALID, ready to release the document and the ticket should print. We will discuss additional steps later in the class. 15. Check the print queue for printer FDE103. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 55
Worldspan Go! Printer Operations This printer is in STOP status. This usually indicates the printer was manually stopped. If the hardcopy printer is in FAIL status, it is necessary to stop and then start the printer. 16. Start the printer. Page 56 1:22 PM 5/12/2004
The status is returned to VALID. Let s review steps that could be helpful when printers are in FAIL status. 5/12/2004 1:22 PM Page 57
