Gas Pipe Lines are installed in many part of country and carry gas from refineries to cities, homes, factories and gas stations. Based on government rules, each city should has Gas Distribution SCADA system to monitor Gas consumption of important customers and gas stations. GOLESTAN state Gas Distribution SCADA system is based on Advantech ADAM-3600 Solution and it is implemented by SSP Company. System Requirements: Customer Requirements SCADA system with 10 RTUs at first phase of project for important gas customers and gas stations. OPC-UA communication protocol between RTUs and Master SCADA Local Database archiving in standard format for total gas consumption at period of 5 minutes inside RTU for one year. Communication media is 256kb ADSL line between RTUs and Master SCADA. Automatic Data synchronization between database inside RTU and MS SQL server at master SCADA. ModbusRTU Communication with Gas Flow computer to read total gas consumption by RTU. IEC Communication protocol between gas stations and NIGC National Iranian Gas Company Dispatching SCADA system.

System Description: ADAM-3600 is powered by pbssoftlogic runtime Kernel for handling OPC-UA server, IEC-870-5-104 Slave, Modbus Master /Slave, SQLite data archiving and synchronization with MS SQL

2 System Description: ADAM-3600 is powered by pbssoftlogic runtime Kernel for handling OPC-UA server, IEC Slave, Modbus Master /Slave, SQLite data archiving and synchronization with MS SQL Server. ADAM-3600 also supports KW runtime kernel for RTU programming based on IEC standard.kw and pbssoftlogic Kernels are communicating through Advantech Tag-Link API. Master SCADA and RTUs are connected by 256kb ADSL line. Each RTU has static IP address. ADAM-3600 is communicating with Gas Flow Computer and ADAM-4018 through Modbus Protocol to read Total gas consumption and environment temperature.

3 ADAM-3600 is logging Data every five minutes in SQLite format.adam-3600 will synchronized SQLite data with MS SQL Server in Master SCADA by help of FreeTDS library. FreeTDS Library is MS SQL Server client API for Linux. ADAM-3600 will directly insert Data inside MS SQL Server at SCADA master by help of FreeTDS Library without any interface software. When communication lost between RTU and Master SCADA, ADAM-3600 will mark not synchronized data and it will synchronize data automatically when communication established. ADAM-3600 is working as MS SQL Server client application by help of FreeTDS API which is open implementation of Microsoft TDS protocol. ADAM-3600 is handling communication with NIGC Master SCADA through IEC protocol. ADAM-3600 is handing simultaneously following protocols in this project : OPC-UA Server Modbus Master IEC Slave SQLite with Automatic data synchronization with SQL server at Master SCADA KW runtime kernel for IEC programming Project Implementation: System Integrator : SSP Company Solution Provider : pbscontrol RTU : Advantech ADAM-3600 irtu Master SCADA Software : Indusoft Platform Communication Protocol between RTU and Master SCADA : OPC-UA RTU Local Database : SQLite Project Status : Operational
