6 WHAT IS THE TAOGS?» DLR has contracted TESAT to design, build and operate a transportable optical ground station with adaptive optics for the return path.» Tesat has received the next contract (up to 2019) to perform experiments with the LCT on Alphasat including the TAOGS» Third party users are welcome for proposals. Current collaboration are with IKN-satellite networks- for end to end coding, and MPI Erlangen for CV- QKD.» Experimental system with 1-2 operators in station, no plans for remote control or full autonomy» Sequential procedure for calibration, link acquisition, and link execution» TAOGS design for downlink validated, uplink performance optimization is part of the ongoing research
