3 Introduction Dedicated Link (DL) Direct connection between T2S actors (CSD) and T2S data centres The DL consists our of three layers Value added Services layer (PKI, store and forward etc.) Logical communication layer (MQ, DEP) Physical communication layer (CoreNet) CoreNet existing word wide WAN network of the ESCB Reuse of existing shared infrastructure

4 CoreNet and Dedicated Link DL: CoreNet VPN connecting the CSD s to T2S data centres CoreNet provides high available physical connection to T2S data centres (at Banca d Italy and Bundesbank) CoreNet is a long-term proven network service with established operational, monitoring and reporting framework Operational support via CoreNet customer service centre 7/24 Direct accessible for CSDs CoreNet provides different physical connectivity types 4

7 CoreNet: Connection type B Site type option B single site dual loop single site with two CoreNet nodes and two access lines network redundancy, high availability Requirements: setup at same CSD location Local interconnection between CoreNet nodes 7

8 CoreNet: Connection type C (typical) Site type option C split site split site setup over two locations network redundancy, high availability Requirements interconnection between CoreNet nodes required site distance limited by network delay type of interconnection clarification with order 8

(CoreNet) Type A, B and C can be combined as required Distance for split site to large then use of 2*A, 2*B or A+B Type C split site requires: interconnections with 4 links via fibre link, WDM or L2 switch provided by CSD at least logical separation between interconnections of encrypted (2 links) and unencrypted (2 links) CoreNet domain For any type access lines are provided by different providers 9

10 Request of CoreNet Dedicated Link CSDs raise request to T2S PO for CoreNet T2S DL CSDs to provide following information: chosen T2S DL CoreNet site type (A, B or C) location details for the T2S DL installation (site address with rack location) contact details for technical support existing access line providers Re-use of existing connections type of interconnection Any other special requirements and conditions Site survey as required 10

11 CSD contribution for CoreNet delivery IT infrastructure requirements security access control for datacenter dedicated cabinet or cabinet with restricted access cooling and redundant power cabling between provider entry point and CoreNet node uplink to CSD network via 100Mbit/s or 1Gbit/s Ethernet connection Connection between CoreNet loops (type B,C) 11
