Using Esri's Address Data Management Tools to Prepare for Next Generation 911 Chad Brothers, Client Services Manager State of Tennessee TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. James Wood, Public Safety Industry Manager True North Geographic Technologies
NG9-1-1 Overview Chad Brothers
What is Next Generation 9-1-1? Next Generation 911 (NG911) will enhance the 911 system to create a faster, more flexible, resilient, and scalable system that allows 911 to keep up with communication technology used by the public. Put simply, NG911 is an Internet Protocol (IP)-based system that allows digital information (e.g., voice, photos, videos, text messages) to flow seamlessly from the public, through the 911 network, and on to emergency responders
What is NG9-1-1 look like in TN? The NG9-1-1 Over NetTN program was created by the Tennessee Emergency Communications Board to provide Next Generation (NG) management and integration services to the State of Tennessee Emergency Communications Districts in conjunction with the NetTN statewide MPLS service offering to result in a statewide highly available Next Generation environment
What is NetTN? The State of Tennessee s statewide network (NetTN) provides communications services for all branches of government, higher education, local government, TEMA, many K12 districts, nonprofits and NG The NetTN vision is a robust unified network infrastructure that leverages the buying power of all government stakeholders to drive down the cost of technology and help drive the deployment of broadband to all urban and rural Tennessee communities.
