10 RCMP Policing for Coaldale Communities over 5000 require their own Municipal Police Service Agreement with Public Safety Canada Post Concept where municipal and provincially funded general duty resources work out of the same facility Coaldale Detachment will be Full service detachment Integration with Community Peace Officers an option Post concept Co-located with Specialized RCMP resources Traffic Forensics Police Service Dog
11 RCMP Policing for Coaldale Detachment members are totally focused on local priorities Coaldale Municipal Detachment (as of January 2016) 7 uniform front line responders Detachment members can not be required to reside in the community 24/7 policing response will be provided based on calls for service 2 Support staff Storefront detachment until new facility built (2018) Members will start and end their shift at current Lethbridge facility Site for new policing facility being determined now. Construction to start in 2016
12 The RCMP will work closely with LRPS to ensure a smooth transition January 1 st 2016 The PAC will play a pivotal role in the transition Coaldale residents will be kept updated Next Steps Fill the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Coaldale Detachment position early 2015 Secure site for Coaldale Regional Policing Facility spring Construction Completion Establish the Coaldale PAC early 2015 Complete the Annual Performance Plan fall 2015 Locate and fit up a storefront location Fall 2015 Hire two support staff Fall 2015 Fill all 7 Coaldale municipal RCMP positions fall 2015
