9 Aerospace and Defense The Government of Canada (GOC) is a significant purchaser of aerospace and defense products. Canada is the sixth highest military spending economy in NATO U.S. organizations account for the largest share of military contract awards by the GOC. Canadian defense spending has reached the highest level since World War II with an estimated defense budget of US$18.8 billion per year.
10 Computers & Electronic Products U.S. companies seeking to enter into Canada's computer hardware market may find opportunities in the following areas: In the PC market, the notebook, specifically netbooks, will continue to have the biggest share in the hardware market, while the sale of desktops will continue to decline. In the multi-user hardware or server market, volume servers will be the growth driver. In the storage sector, network attached storage and storage area networks will be the main growth area.

12 Health Care Sectors Demand for diagnostic and patient monitoring equipment will lead the growth in sales of medical equipment over the next two years ( ) in Canada. Medical equipment is purchased primarily by hospitals and other public health institutions and accounts for approximately 70% of the total medical equipment and supplies market in Canada. Demand from privately-owned clinics and other establishments are particularly favorable for imaging diagnostic equipment and is predicted to grow at a slightly higher rate than the overall market in 2009 and 2010.
