1 Introduction: IS900C firmware and print driver have been upgraded as follows: Firmware: Print driver: Ver. 1.10R CD105U Firmware Ver. 1.10R and Print driver CD105U were evaluated to work in combination. Print driver CD105U Version & compatibility: I) Windows 2K/XP Ver II) Windows Vista (32/64-bit) Ver III) Windows 7 (32/64-bit) Ver IV) Windows 2003 Server (32/64-bit) Ver V) Windows 2008 Server (32/64-bit) Ver VI) Windows 2008 Server R2 (64-bit) Ver VII) Mac OSX (10.4~10.7) Ver VIII) General PPD Ver CD105U supports Mac OSX 10.7 (Lion). Important Notice: The ComColor Firmware must be SNALL Ver or higher. In this bulletin, we re going to address the following: 1) Implementation of the Barcode function, and 2) Device Link Profile support Major changes with Firmware Ver. 1.10R : The following program bugs have been rectified: 1- When the direction of ASCII data is set to portrait, it will print in the landscape direction. 2- The function of the Folding Direction (outside) didn t work correctly with the following setting: => 8 page-job + 2-fold (single sheet) +4-up + Duplex (portrait). 3- When the color output mode is set to Auto in a custom queue, the image color quality of a PS file is poor starting from the 2nd page and up. 2 4- The Form function does not work correctly with the following setting: => Overlay each page + Duplex + Tray selection. As an example, let s take the following setting: # 3-page job (P1-P3) and 3-form data (F1-F3). # Tray selection => Tray 1: 1st page; Tray 2: 2, 3 pages 1st print from Tray 1: Front (P1-F1) 2nd print from Tray 2: Front (P2-F3) 1st print from Tray 1: Front (P1-F1) 2nd print from Tray 2: Front (P2-F2) Back (Blank) Back (P3-F1) Wrong pattern which should be as follws: Back (Blank) Back (P3-F3) Good pattern 5- When a custom paper name is registered under a 2-bite character name, the file is garbled. 6- When a PDF document is printed using FTP or Hotfolder with tray call, the custom profile is not reflected. 7- When printing with Short Edge direction, Barcode function, Mixed Output Size and Portrait orientation, the barcode Area in the print will be rotated 90 degrees. 8- When the Barcode Area Proof is used with the Booklet Imposition function, all the pages from the job are printed. (Correct behavior: Print only one cycle of Repeat numbers defined in the barcode CSV file. 9- The Import button under Color Calibration does not function properly with Internet Explorer 7, The Tray Selection and Form functions cannot be selected at the same time. 1) Implementation of the Barcode function: The Barcode Area Function has been introduced so that the IS900C can process files with barcodes. The Barcode Area Function is defined by the Barcode Area Definition using data entered in a CSV file format. Fewer ink drops (-2 drops than normal) are used within the Barcode Area. Black instead of CMYK composite is used to print Barcodes. As a result, Barcode bars print lighter and thinner so that they are read accurately by a barcode Reader. 7 Functionality of Barcode Area printing: 1- Print defined Barcode Area with the following conditions: - Use K (Black) ink only and reduce ink drops by 2 in defined area. - C (Cyan), M (Magenta) and Y (Yellow) ink drops are automatically set to 0 (No ink drop). 2- Definable Barcode Areas within 1 page: 50 areas maximum. Barcode Areas After 50 are ignored. 3- Maximum Repeat page cycle for the Barcode Area Definitions: 10 pages maximum. More than 10 Repeat page cycle becomes 0 (No Repeat). 4- Data can be entered in the CSV file to set the Barcode Area Definition either in mm or inch. Rounding of the numbers is as follows: mm: Only integers can be handled. The number is truncated below the decimal point: 1.51=>1. inch: The number is trucated below the third decimal point: 1.216=> To import the CSV file, the characters used must in the ASCII format.
