CREATE DYNAMIC DIGITAL MESSAGES C-STORE CONTENT PACKAGES
HOW-TO GUIDE FOR CONVENIENCE STORE CONTENT PACKAGES Daktronics understands how critical store traffic is, and we know how valuable your time is. To help you, we created free c-store content packages. The full offering is filled with 150+ templates featuring some of your most popular items. Each piece already has a logo background, taking the guesswork out of creating messages. There is no wondering about layout or if your graphic is in the right format. All you have to do is add text. Best of all, this brochure is filled with tips to help you do that effectively and quickly. For more detailed information, ask your Daktronics representative for our Create Dynamic Digital Messages brochure (DD ). HERE'S A SAMPLE OF THE CONTENT PACKAGES YOU'LL FIND Adult Beverages 1 Food 1 Salty Snacks 2 Smokeless 1 Smokes 2 Sample content pieces shown are a 48 x 144 matrix Download your free c-store content packages today at: Keep checking the site to see what we have added. This photo has content that is conceptualized. 1 And watch the impulse buys come in. LET THE GRAPHIC DO THE TALKING When creating a message, remember graphics are easier to read than lines of text on a display. These pieces have great graphics that will get noticed. Don t spoil the impact! Keep your text as brief as possible. Six pack 6 pk OR 6 pack Two for $2.00 2/$2 or 2/$250 Two six packs for $6.98 2/6 PKs 6.98 or 2/6 PKs Three 20 ounce bottles for $3.00 3/20 oz $3 Four packages for $ pkgs for ounce bag for $ oz/$299 Sample content pieces shown are a 48 x 112 matrix 698 $
Choose Large, Bold Fonts Increase Readability Passersby from different viewing distances can more easily read a large, bold font. Text in all caps can be hard to read. Don t capitalize unless your message is three words or less. Highlight the Text Also, a sans serif font is easier to read than a serif font (a font with tiny strokes on the ends of the letters). Outlining the letters with at least a 2 point outline will increase readability. EXAMPLE: THE QUICKEST WAY TO ADD EFFECTIVE TEXT TO A TEMPLATE Using Daktronics Venus 1500 software, we added text in a bold, Arial font with a two-pixel black outline. Notice how great the white text looks on the dark background. By creating high contrast with your text and background, you make it easy for your audience to read your message. Sample content pieces shown are a 48 x 112 matrix This photo has content that is conceptualized. QUICK TIPS FOR HIGHLY READABLE TEXT
PICK BRIGHT, VIBRANT COLORS Your text will pop if you use bright, vibrant colors instead of soft, pale colors. Also, sharp contrast between the text s color and the main color in the graphic on the template will get your message noticed. To create great contrast, use a bright colored font such as white or yellow with a darker, bold outline. This photo has content that is conceptualized. For example, yellow and black contrast well, while red and green don t. See the examples below and read the color section in Create Dynamic Digital Messages brochure for more details. Using high-contrast color combinations, shown above, makes your content highly viewable. EXAMPLE: USING MULTIPLE COLORS AND TEXT SIZES TO GET NOTICED Using Venus 1500 software, we added text in a bold, Arial font with a two-pixel black outline. Notice the high contrast between the yellow text and purple background. Two sizes of font also makes this message more attractive. When using two sizes, always put the most important part of the text in larger font. Notice the thick black outline! Sample content pieces shown are a 48 x 112 matrix
TIPS TO MAKE CONTENT SUCCESSFUL Call to Action A call to action is an invitation to your drive-by audience. Challenge them to respond to you and stimulate impulse buys. Some examples include: Getting low? Stop in Buy now Ask inside Limited supply Ask for details Price R eading text takes time and concentration. S ome customers regard certain items essential to their lifestyle and don t care about the price. A graphic with no price can imply a sale, even if there isn t one. S low day? Promote items that tie in with a sports event, convention, fair or rally bringing in out-of-town people. A dvertise a combo, such as a free drink with a bag of Doritos. Moving Inventory C reate content that includes a call to action, such as While supplies last. This photo has content that is conceptualized. Many retailers post the price on every ad. However, you might want to give your audience a break from constant price bombardment from time to time. Why?
