1 English Language Program: Online Application Instructions 1. Logging in a. You will need to create an account by filling out all the required details (please see the Registration Information image below). For the question which program would you like to apply to?, please select English Language Program. b. If you already have an account, click on Back to Login and log in with your Username and Password (please see the Login image below). If you have forgotten your Username or Password, click the Forgot Username/Password? link and enter the used to create the account. Your Username and Password will be sent to your . c. Once you create your account, you will receive a welcome that has your Username and link to the application portal. d. If you are an Agent assisting a student with an application, please make sure to enter only the student s information. There is a specific section for Agents, and it s important that you put your information only on Agent Page. 1 7 Page

2 2. Home Page a. The first page you will be taken to when you sign in is the home page. Here you can learn about our programs and start your application. b. Start your application by clicking the Start Application button. 3. Program of Interest Page a. On this page, you will select your program of interest. To improve your English language skills, please select Academic and Test Preparation (ATP) and click the Next button to continue. To take SJSU courses for 1-2 semesters and if you meet the English language requirements, please select Semester at SJSU (SAS) and click the Next button to continue. 2 7 Page

3 4. Applicant Profile a. On this page, you will complete your personal information. If you are an Agent assisting a student, you will complete your agent information in the next section. b. Everything that starts with a red line is required to be completed in order to progress through the application. c. When you get to the Permanent Home Address section, if your Mailing Address is not the same as your Permanent Home Address, change the following answer to No. d. Click Save & Next to move to the next section. 3 7 Page

4 5. Agency Information a. If an Agent is helping you, the Agent should enter this information. If an Agent did not help you, then select No and continue. b. Agents, make sure to enter your Agency code. If you are not sure what it is, enter 0000 and we will contact you at the you provide. c. When you are done, click Save & Next to continue. 6. SJSU Admission a. If you have applied to SJSU or International Gateways before, please input your SJSU ID or your International Gateways Application ID. Please contact us if you have applied before, but you do not remember your ID. b. When you are done, click Save & Next to continue. 7. Immigration a. In this section, you will enter your information regarding your I-20 and an emergency contact. 4 7 Page

5 b. When you are done, click Save & Next to continue. 8. Course Offering a. If you are applying for the Academic and Test Preparation (ATP) program, choose the course length and date. b. If you are applying for the Semester at SJSU (SAS) program, choose the semester you would like to enroll in the course offering. c. Click Save & Next to continue. 5 7 Page

6 9. Payment Page a. Click the Please Click Here to Make Payment button to progress to the Payment Page. Then click the Pay Now button to progress to the Cashnet Payment Page. Click Continue Checkout. b. Enter the address and credit card number for the payment, then click Continue Checkout. c. Once you are done, you will be redirected back to this page and the Save & Next button will be available so that you can continue the application. 10. Uploads a. Upload the Personal Data page of your passport. b. Click Choose File and select the file from your computer. After you have chosen the file, click Upload Document. c. When you are done, click Save & Next to continue. 6 7 Page

7 *Semester at SJSU (SAS) applicants only* d. If you have taken an English proficiency test (such as TOEFL or IELTS), upload the document with proof of your test score here by selecting Yes. Click Choose File and select the file from your computer, and click Upload Document. e. Download and complete the SAS Course Wishlist Form. Click Choose File and select the file from your computer, and click Upload Document. f. When you are done, click Save & Next to continue. 11. Submit Page a. This is the final page of the Online Application. After clicking the Submit button, you will NOT be able to change your application. By clicking Submit you will send and lock the application. You will receive an verifying that you have submitted your application. b. Enter your name as it appears in your passport in the Application Signature box. Select today s date in the Application Submitted Date box. Select the box confirming that all the answers in the application are accurate, and click the Submit button. 7 7 Page
