1 ESU EDUCATOR PROVIDING INNOVATION, LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE THE September 2017 Publisher: ESU #1 Designer: Tracey Anderson Successfully Using PDF Forms Welcome back to another school year full of PDFs (Problematic & Dysfunctional Forms ). In the hopes of alleviating any stress or difficulties, I ve laid out some instructions to help you successfully utilize our PDF forms. A complete listing of forms and resources can be found at: forms.html. 1. Downloading and Opening a Form from the Website: a. Open up our website ( and go to the forms page. It is necessary for you to REFRESH the page before downloading any form. Doing so will ensure that you are going to get the most up-to-date form available for your download. b. Any PDF form MUST be opened only in Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is important that you do not open a PDF form in an internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc., or a preview program. Although the form may look the same as in Adobe, the interactive functions are disabled in a browser or preview program. c. Once the file is downloaded, go to File menu and Save As PDF to your desktop, or any other location you choose. Once you have saved the PDF, close your internet browser and navigate to the file just downloaded. If it does not automatically open in Adobe Acrobat, you can manually drag it to your Adobe Acrobat icon in your dock. d. Once you have successfully opened the PDF, you can begin filling out the interactive form. If you are having difficulty determining where fields are located in an interactive form, you can highlight the fields on your screen by going to the Forms menu on the right side and select Highlight Fields. 2. ing and Submitting a Form: a. Once you have saved your completed interactive form to the desktop or other location of your choice, you can attach it to an and send to any recipient. b. Please note, when attaching a form to an , the form may appear as blank. This does not mean that the data you entered is not saved. The recipient can access the data by either double-clicking the preview image or by saving the file and opening it in Adobe Reader. c. IMPORTANT NOTE: submission buttons are available on some Adobe forms which allows the user to directly submit the completed form. It is highly recommended, however, to save your completed form and it as an attachment whenever possible. 3. Ashley Tapper, Speech/Language Pathologist, and her husband Steve, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on July 31, Kinnick Timothy weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 1/2" long. In true Hawkeye fandom, Kinnick is named in honor of Nile Kinnick who was a Heisman Trophy winner for the University of Iowa. As you can see in the picture, looks like he s ready to enjoy some football!! Sizzling Summer Deals! Something new to share with our members. 4 October Healthy Lunch Club Eating healthy is an important part of each day. Not only will your nutritious lunch give you a boost for the rest of the day, but eating healthy may cut the risk of many cancers in half! All registered participants will receive a new Bento Box. Keep lunch items and snacks separated and fresh until ready to eat. Featuring generous compartments for a variety of healthy lunch items. During October, take time to educate yourself about the various foods you consume by determining the caloric content of a serving size of a different food each day. What is a serving? One cup of raw salad greens 1/2 cup of cooked vegetables 1/2 cup of cut-up fruit or vegetables 1/4 cup of dried fruit 1/2 cup of cooked beans or peas A small glass of 100% fruit or vegetable juice (3/4 cup or 6 oz.) A medium-sized pieced of fruit (an orange, small banana, medium-apple) Incentive: Registered participants will receive a Sistema Bento Lunch To Go. Gift Card Drawing: Complete guidelines for at least 20 days to be entered into drawing for one of 500 $25 gift cards. Challenge Guidelines - October 2017: Eat at least one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables for lunch. Determine the caloric content of a serving of food consumed during the day. Quick tip: Sign up for all the upcoming challenges at once so you can automatically start logging in your progress on day one.
