New Product Releases DATASHED - Website checking of Telco availability New-L DATASHED is the sophisticated intelligent gateway used for the premium DATRAN SMS service and provides number portability between Telcos. We have just implemented a comprehensive and independent system to provide you with clear confirmation about the status of DATASHED and your Telco provider. A full "end to end" test is performed over both Telecom and Vodafone networks every 30 minutes. Please click here for the status screen which shows you both Telecom and Vodafone. Coming Soon... QTech 900MHz Digital Radio The QTech digital radio is a fully NZ compliant FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) digital radio. Coming- The digital radios are perfect for low cost, low power wireless links of several kilometers between an RTU and I/O modules. They provide transparent serial (RS232 or RS485) connections at speeds of up to 9600bps The digital radios can also be used in our "point to point" systems. The first production run of these radios is currently being delivered to our store, so please enquire now to register your interest. Obsolescence Notices Telecom CDMA Network & iport Cellular Modems (NZ Users only) For some time Telecom has stated that the CDMA network will be closed. Whilst details and times are vague, the data service of CDMA has already closed. When the call/sms service closes, this will affect DATRAN users who operate iport cellular modems, as these modems only operate on the CDMA network. The replacement to the iport is the Intermax Cellular Modem. The Intermax is a powerful device that can be used for super fast cellular IP data communications as well as sending SMS messages from an RTU or base station. Technical Tips

For further technical support and publications please click here My DATRAN system uses Windows 7, but the shortcuts don't work. Are they compatible? Yes. DATRAN is compatible with Windows 7. The only "gotcha" in Windows 7 is that if you are not running with administrative access, you will have to tick the "Run this program as an administrator" check box in the Properties dialogue of some DATRAN VI shortcuts. This applies to the following shortcuts: DATRAN VI \ DATRAN Browser DATRAN VI \ Start Services DATRAN VI \ Stop Services I need a larger capacity database. What database options are available?

4 Page 4 of 5 For some time, QTech has used the Microsoft SQL Server Express with a 4GB storage limit. Earlier this year, Microsoft released the SQL Server 2008 "R2" database with an increased data storage of 10GB. This will be included on future DATRAN VI CD's to simplify your installation. Click here for more details. Both of these databases are "free" to download, there are of course, many other database options including the full version of SQL Server. Please contact us directly if we can help in anyway. I have recently updated my DATRAN Server to a new PC. The computer stopped working that night, what do I need to look for? Help-Log One of our integrators has been recently caught out by this - Please check the following... Turn off hard disks and System standby must be set to "Never" or DATRAN VI might stop working after the set time.
