2 ONLINE STUDIO LAUNCHPAD 2 STAGE 1: SETTING UP YOUR HOSTING AND INSTALLING WORDPRESS 1. Purchase a hosting plan from Site Ground. If you just want to set up one studio website, the Startup plan is sufficient. 2. If you don t already have one, purchase a domain from Site Ground during your account set up. Choose your piano studio name if it s available, or something else that will be easy to say and spell. If you have a domain name already select this option and enter it in the box (there will be checkbox for website migration underneath checked by default, just leave this as it is). 3. Enter all your details and finish setting up your Site Ground account. Choose the payment option that suits you. Paying for the full year up front is the best value, but you can also use the trial month option when you re setting up your payment if you re not sure. 4. If you have a domain already, you ll need to set up the DNS now. Please see the separate course video and complete the steps in Stage 1A before returning to complete these steps. 5. Go to the My Accounts tab and click on the button that says Access cpanel. There will be a pop-up box with Access cpanel Securely already selected click Proceed. 6. 3 ONLINE STUDIO LAUNCHPAD 3 7. Scroll down and click Install now. 8. On the next page there will be a few settings to configure. Under procotol choose for now. Your domain should already be set, and you don t need to enter anything under directory. Choose the name of your site (studio name) and a tag line. You can change this later if you need to. Choose a username and password that you can remember you need this later. timtopham.com 2017 timtopham.com

When the install is complete, click on the link that says Administrative URL. Login if necessary using the admin name and password you created earlier. 10.
