1 PerformanceIQ Quick Reference Management Reports Description Management Reports are dynamic reports, updated monthly, that show global performance of all portfolios that you can access. Management Reports include filtering capabilities and options to customize and save reports. Reports can be printed and exported to Excel. The reports are similar to the Home Page in content, but may also include a consolidated totals line to show assets and cumulative performance returns. Management Reports may be accessed from the Management Reports drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the site, or through the Report Center tab at the top of the page. View Total Portfolio Reports All Accounts and All Portfolios/SCORECARDs 1. Click on the Management Reports drop-down menu in the right corner of the Home page. 2. Click on Total Portfolio All Accounts or Total Portfolio All Portfolios/SCORECARDS. 3. The report lists all portfolios available and displays performance start date, market value, net cash flow since inception, and portfolio returns. The All Accounts report displays individual portfolios only and includes a totals line of the aggregate portfolio values and performance returns. The All Portfolios/SCORECARDs report includes individual accounts and Consolidated (aggregate) Portfolios. A Consolidated Portfolio refers to two or more accounts combined for reporting purposes. The totals line will not be available if any account appears in multiple portfolios (in a Consolidated and as an individual account). Quick Reference Management Reports Page 1 of 8

2 Optional: Click on an account number or name to open the Your Portfolios/SCORECARDs tabs. Refer to Quick Reference Your Portfolios/SCORECARDs to learn about this functionality. Click on an underlined column heading to sort the columns. The arrow indicates the column sorted and the sort order (ascending or descending). The report displays 25 portfolios per page by default; to view more portfolios on the page, click on the Display drop box and then click on 50, 100, or 250. The total number of portfolios and pages are listed on either side of the Display: drop box. Click on the icons in the top right section for the following functionality: o o o o Benchmark Click to display nine different benchmarks with returns for the same time frames as those that appear on the report. Benchmarks in the list may be changed by clicking on the Edit icon next to the benchmark to change; enter search criteria for the new benchmark and click on the benchmark name. This does NOT affect PDF reports. Save Click to save the report criteria; saved reports appear in the Management Report drop-down menu and the Management Report Dashboard. Reports saved as Public (entitlement required) are available to all users at the institution. Export Click to export the data in a comma-delimited format into Excel, which may then be saved as a spreadsheet. Print Click to view the report in a printer-friendly format. Click on the printer in the browser bar to print. Customizing a Management Report The tabs across the top of the report may be used to refine the information and format. Through these tabs, the reports may be viewed at the class or subclass level (or other hierarchy such as Class/Style/Manager) with a benchmark, limited to specific accounts codes or values, and displayed using alternate return dates. Functionality for each tab is covered below. Quick Reference Management Reports Page 2 of 8

3 Report Type Tab Lists the three types of reports that are available: Portfolio Detail Report View performance at the portfolio or account level; each portfolio is displayed separately. o Portfolio/SCORECARD Level Includes consolidated and individual accounts. o Account Level Includes only individual portfolios, including closed accounts that are included in Consolidated Portfolios. Business Summary Calculates consolidated performance returns for portfolios based on account codes; may include officer, branch and investment objective and other codes. Daily Management Report (available for institutions that subscribe to daily processing) - View daily performance for portfolios; returns are gross of management fees and include the performance of non-discretionary assets held in the portfolios. Returns are not reconciled using our detailed monthly process. o Portfolio/SCORECARD Level Includes consolidated and individual accounts. o Account Level Includes only individual portfolios, including closed accounts that are included in Consolidated Portfolios. Other Links The Available Date Range displayed reflects the earliest through the most recent dates available. To change this range, click on Change link next to Selected Date Range. Click on the filter summary link to display the criteria used for the report. Quick Reference Management Reports Page 3 of 8

4 Report Level Tab Allows you to select the specific asset classification structure to include in the report results and the classification level from which to select specific segments. Benchmarks may also be added to the report. After selecting criteria, click on Run Report or click on other tabs to include additional criteria. Report Level Most institutions have the Class/Subclass asset classification structure; this allows for reporting at those levels. o Institutions that utilize the Wealth Management structure will have additional hierarchies/structures to choose from within the Report Level section, such as Class/Style/Manager or Macro/Class/Subclass. Calculation Type (Portfolio level only, if available) For institutions that provide fee information, Gross of Fees or Net of Fees may be selected. Class/Subclass If a level below Portfolio is selected, the middle column will display segments from within the selected level. For example, if a report level of Class is selected, classes defined by your institution will appear in the middle column; one or more classes may be added to the report. o Wealth Management options will display if that option was chosen for Report Level: Class/Style/Manager, Macro/Class/Subclass, or others. Compare to (optional) - Comparison options provide a valuable assessment of performance returns against benchmarks that may be displayed on the report. Click on the box next to a benchmark to select it; a green check mark indicates inclusion. o To display benchmarks by type or to search for a specific benchmark that is not currently listed, click on the drop box next to Comparison Types. Click Search and enter Search Criteria; click Search again; click on a benchmark to choose it. The Selection Summary displays all criteria selected. Filter Tab Displays multiple ways to filter the data to include on a report; this allows you to input specific criteria, such as a group, returns greater than an index return, and officer codes. After selecting criteria, click on Run Report or click on other tabs to submit additional criteria. Groups Click on a group name to filter the report for that group; groups are userspecific and created on the Home Page. Click on Group detail to view the accounts included in the selected group. 5 Accounts To specify limited or full detail only, click on the circle next to your choice. o Limited Detail Accounts with PDF-only data; no drill-through functionality. o Full Detail Accounts with full drill-through functionality to access the Your Portfolios/SCORECARDs area. Name Enter all or part of a name to search. Account Number Enter all or part of an account number to search. Fiscal Year End Choose a month from the drop-down menu. Show Individual/Consolidated Portfolios/SCORECARDs - Green check mark indicates inclusion on the report; click on a check to remove it. This section appears only if Portfolio/SCORECARD Level is selected on the Report Type tab. Data Query - Limit the accounts returned based on performance data. Queries may be run on returns (data ranges), market value, net additions (at the Account level), or allocation (at the class and subclass level). Several possible data queries are available to choose from, including greater than, less than, top or bottom number of accounts, top or bottom percent of accounts or any range of values or percentages. Examples: o View the top 10 accounts with the highest return for the last month. o View all accounts with a Market value between $500,000 and $1,000,000. o View all accounts with an Equities allocation of more than 60%. You must first select a Class or Subclass on the Report Level tab to use allocation. Account Codes - Choose specific codes to include on the report. All entitled account codes are listed; these may include officer codes, branch codes, investment objective codes, and other codes. Labels may show Officer Code 1 and Officer Code 2 or may list a specific role, such as Investment Officer or Portfolio Manager (varies by institution). Click on the checkbox next to each code to include on the report. Codes may be selected for multiple code types; if multiple code types are selected (such as Investment Officer and Branch Code), confirm AND/OR next to the Selections drop-down menu. o OR - allows you to identify accounts that have any of the codes selected. o AND - allows you to identify accounts that have all of the codes selected. 6 Column Options Tab The Column Options tab allows for changing columns displayed on the report. Date ranges may be changed for Net Additions (portfolio level only) or for the return periods, and account codes, such officer codes, branch codes, and investment objectives, may be added to the report. After selecting criteria, click on Run Report or click on other tabs to submit additional criteria. Configure Columns Choose a date range for net additions or returns by clicking on the drop-down menu and selecting a date range. In addition to industry standard time frames, calendar years and custom date ranges may be selected. Business Codes Click on the check box next to any field to display on the report. 7 Results Tab The Results tab displays the completed report once the Run Report button has been clicked. Queuing Reports with Large Results Reports with large results are sent to a report queue, which allows the report to run in the background without hindering the ability to continue working. Reports that are estimated to take more than a minute or so will generate a pop-up box of options to proceed. Choose an option and click on OK. Temporary reports may be accessed via the Management Report Dashboard under the Temporary Results heading. Submit Sends the report to run in the queue. If PerformanceIQ is still in use when the report completes, a message displays to indicate the report is ready. Click on View Reports to see the report immediately, or click on Continue Working to continue with the current task and view the report later. If PerformanceIQ is closed when the report completes, the message will appear upon next log in. o Also receive an Generates an notification when ready. o Also save the report Displays a window to name and save the report for later use. Saved reports may be accessed through the Management Report menu. Refine Allows for additional criteria to be entered via the tabs before running report. Save The Save Report As pop-up is displayed; this allows for saving the report for later use without running it. Cancel Cancel the report request. Quick Reference Management Reports Page 7 of 8

8 Management Report Dashboard The Management Report Dashboard allows for easy creation and maintenance of reports and provides the option to work with previously saved reports or to build a new report. There are columns to identify the report name, type, and owner, as well as the date each report was last viewed. Links are available to view setup details of reports and to edit reports. To access the Management Report Dashboard, click on the Report Center tab at the top of the site and then click on Management Reports. This displays saved reports. To run a new report, click on Build a New Management Report. To view a report, click on the report name. To edit an existing report, click on Edit in the Report Actions column. To view actions taken on a report (created or changed), click on History; this link is available for private and public saved reports. Reports queued to process large data sets are available by clicking on Temporary Results. Temporary reports will remain in the queue for one week, after which results will be removed from the system, unless the report is saved. To save a temporary report: 1. Click on the report name in the Dashboard. 2. When the results appear, click on the diskette in the upper right corner. 3. Enter a name for the report and click on the box next to Save as new report. 4. Click on Save. The report is available through the Management Report menu.
