How To Instructions 1. How do I access my ? Log in to the myunb Portal ( ) and click on the widget located on the left-hand side of the portal screen.

2 2. How do I attach a file to an ? When creating a message use the options toolbar along the top of the window. Select the paperclip icon and another window will appear. You can then attach multiple documents from your machine. When you are done select attach at the bottom of the screen. 3. How do I send an to multiple contacts? 1. After opening a new message, click on To. This will open up your address book in a new window. 2. From the list of contacts, select an individual and click on To, Cc or Bcc at the bottom of the window under Message Recipients. This will add the recipient to that mail field. 3. To delete a recipient, click after their name and hit the backspace button on your keyboard.

4 4. How do I set up my filters? Your connected services will automatically filter SPAM into the junk mail folder. To set up your own personal filters: 1. Select Options > Create an Inbox Rule. 2. Click on New. 3. Under When the message arrives:, select the option you want. 4. Under Do the following:, select the option you want. 5. Click Save. Note: You can add conditions and exceptions by clicking More options. Click Save when complete. Example: When a message is received from portaltest001 it will be moved into the folder Junk .

5 5. How do I add a new contact to my address book (contact list)? 1. From the menu at the top of your screen, select Mail > Contacts. 2. Click New. 3. Enter the contact s information then click Save and Close. 4. To return to your inbox, click on Mail at the top of your screen. 6. How do I add a new group to my address book? 1. From the menu at the top of your screen, select Mail > Contacts. 2. Click the dropdown arrow next to New and select Group. 3. Enter a group name, then click on Members. 4. From your contact list select the contacts you want to add to the group, then under Member Selections, click Members. 5. Click OK. This will take you back to the Create a group window. 6. To finish adding your contacts to the group, click Add to this group then click Save & Close from the top navigation bar.

7 7. How do I create personalized folders? 1. In the side navigation, under your name, right-click and select Create New Folder. 2. Type in the name of the folder and hit enter. Note: You can create folders under your Inbox as well.

8 8. How do I move s from my inbox to other folders? 1. Select the message you want to move then click on Move > Move to a folder. 2. In the Move to Folder window, select which folder you want to move it to and click Move. Note: After the first time you move a message to a folder, that folder will automatically be added to the Move dropdown list.

9 9. How do I flag my s? 1. Double-click on the message you want to flag. This will open the message in a new window. 2. Along the top toolbar, click on the Flag icon and select the flag option you would like. 3. To flag an outgoing message as Important, select the exclamation point in the new message toolbar. 10. How do I add/modify my blocklist? To add an address to your blocklist, right-click on the and select Junk Mail > Add sender to blocked senders list. To modify your blocklist: 1. Go to Options > See All Options > Block or Allow. Here you can manage which senders do or do not go directly to your junk folder. 2. Under Safe Senders and Recipients, type the address of senders you DO NOT want sent to your junk box then click the Add icon. 3. Under Blocked Senders, type the address of senders you DO want sent to your junk box then click the Add icon. 4. Click Save when finished.

10 11. How do I setup an automatic reply message? To setup an automatic reply message click Options > Set Automatic Replies. By default it will be set at Don t send automatic replies. To set a message, click Send automatic replies and fill out your message. If you do not want this message sent to individuals outside UNB, uncheck Send automatic reply messages to senders outside my organization. Click Save. If you only want the message sent between certain dates or times check off Send replies only during this time period and specify the time periods. 12. How do I restore a message I accidently deleted? When you delete a message it goes into your Deleted Items folder. It will remain here until you empty this folder. After an item is deleted (from the deleted items folder) you have an additional 30 days to recover the message. To do this, right-click on the Deleted Items folder and select Recover deleted items then choose the message you want to recover.

11 After 30 days, or it you purge the items (under Recover Deleted Items ), the message cannot be retrieved. Note: ITS cannot restore your deleted messages. 13. How do I forward my connected to another account? 1. Log in to your connected 2. Select Options > See All Options 3. On the right, click on Forward your 4. Under Forwarding my to: enter the address you would like to forward your to. 5. Select Start Forwarding to begin forwarding your to the new address. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1. When I try to access SkyDrive, I am asked to provide my year of birth. What should I do? The first time you try to access your SkyDrive, you will be prompted to provide your birth year. Don t worry, this is normal and you should enter your real birth year. You are being asked for this information because Microsoft needs to know that you are over a certain age in order to give you access to certain features like SkyDrive without parental consent.
