1 HKU SPACE Community College Instructions for Using the Online Platform for Programme/Theme/Course Selection (Applicable to Pre-Associate Degree Students and Certificate in General Studies Only) The Programme/Theme/Course Selection Exercise ( the Exercise ) for 2014/15 will be held online between 24 March 2014 (Noon) and 28 March 2014 (5p.m.). Please read carefully the rules and regulations, the minimum entry requirements and the programme structures available on the Information Page before performing the Exercise. Please access the online Programme/Theme/Course Selection platform via the MyFuture website at Step 1 : Login Please click the LOGIN button to access the MyFuture website.

2 Click here to get more information for first time users. Please enter your 8-digit Student ID No. and password and then click the LOGIN button. Login Password: For first time user, the default password is a string comprising the first character of you HKID/passport, and your date of birth in YYMMDD. With Hong Kong Identity Card Your default password will be capital first letter of your Hong Kong Identity Card number and birthdate in YYMMDD. For example, if your HKID number is A and birthdate is 1 Feb 1980, your password will be A With Passport (Only for students without a Hong Kong Identity Card) Your default password will be first alphanumeric of passport and birthdate in YYMMDD. For example, if your passport number is and birthdate is 1 Feb 1980, your password will be

3 Step 2 : Select Function Next, please click Programme/Theme/Course Selection Exercise under the Gain access to Online Platform(s) section.

4 Please click Enter the Programme/Theme/Course Selection platform under the Programme/Theme/Course Selection Exercise section to perform course selection. A security warning dialog box will appear to ask if you want to open the website. Please click Yes to access the online course selection platform.

5 Step 3 : Read the Rules and Regulations Please read the important rules and regulations of the Exercise carefully and then click the I Accept button to continue.

6 Step 4 : Read the Course Documents Please make reference to the 2013/14 course documents available on the Learner Portal and ensure that you understand the course content of individual courses. You may consult the Programme Coordinators/Course Coordinators if you need advice. Please click the Yes button to continue.

7 Step 5 : Choose the Number of Credits Please indicate the number of credits you wish to take in Associate Degree (AD) Year 1 (not applicable to students who are assigned a HD programme). Read the important notes carefully before choosing the number of credits. Choose the number of credits you wish to take in AD and/or HD CCM Year 1. Click the Submit button to confirm or the Clear button to make your choice again. Important: You cannot change your choice once you click the Submit button.

8 Step 6 : Programme Selection Please indicate your first 1-10 preferences for your AD and/or HD Year 1 programme of study (1 = 1 st Choice, 2 = 2 nd Choice, etc.). Indicate your first 1-10 preferences by filling in 1 10 in the box. Click the Submit button to confirm or the Clear button to make your choice again. Important: You cannot change your choice once you click the Submit button.

9 Step 7a : Course Selection for AD Programme(s) i) If your 1 st or 2 nd choice is an AD programme You are required to fill in the course selection form if you choose AD programme as your 1 st or 2 nd choice. Please indicate your preferences by filling in a number for EACH of the courses of your 1 st or 2 nd programme choice (1 = 1 st Priority, 2 = 2 nd Priority, etc.). You are only required to indicate your preferences for courses with more than one option (e.g. General Education/Specialism Electives/Issue-based courses if applicable). The remarks for course(s) with pre-requisite(s), entry requirement(s) and/or additional information (if applicable) will be shown at the bottom of the page. Please read them carefully. Your 1 st or 2 nd choice of AD programme is shown here. Indicate your preferences by filling in a number in EACH box. If you have chosen to take 36 credits in next academic year, you are required to indicate your preferences for the optional course in this part. If you have chosen to take 33 credits only, you do not need to fill in this part. Click the Submit button to continue or the Clear button to make your choice again.

10 ii) Confirm the Course Selection of AD Programme This is a confirmation page showing the course priorities you have indicated for your 1 st or 2 nd choice of AD programme. Please double check and then click the YES button to confirm your selection or the NO button to select your choices again. Please note that you cannot make any changes once you click the YES button. You are advised to print this confirmation page for record. Double check your course preferences. Click the YES button to confirm or the NO button to make your choice again. Important: You cannot change your choice once you click the YES button. iii) Repeat Step 7a (i) and (ii) if you choose AD programmes as both of your 1 st AND 2 nd choices.

11 Step 7b : Course Selection for HD Programme(s) i) If your 1 st or 2 nd choice is a HD programme Students choosing HD programme(s) are not required to indicate their preferences for courses. This page shows the programme you have indicated for your 1 st or 2 nd choice of HD programme. Please click the Confirm button. You are advised to print this confirmation page for record. * For students choosing HD CCM programme with 36 credits as their 1 st or 2 nd choice, please follow Step 6a (i) and (ii) for the selection of Specialism Electives. Your 1 st or 2 nd choice of HD programme is shown here. ii) Please click the Confirm button to continue/complete the online selection exercise. Click the Confirm button. Click the Continue button.

12 Step 8 : Logout A reference number will be generated. Please write it down for future enquiry, if any. Write down the reference number for future reference. The Programme/Theme/Course selection is completed. Click the LOG OUT button to exit.
