1 DLP SUPPORT Steps to access DLP for Microsoft Dynamics Partners Your attempt to access DLP fails due to one of the following issues: 1. Account Association - your employee contact details are not yet registered in the PartnerSource Business Center (PSBC) with the exact same Microsoft Account or Organization account that you use to access PartnerSource. Please follow steps in Parts I, II and III of this document. 2. Missing Professional - your employee contact details are not registered in the PartnerSource Business Center (PSBC). Please follow steps in Parts I, II and III of this document. 3. Recently purchased Service Plan - your company has just purchased or renewed the service plan. In this case, you might see that the service plan of your organization is showing in PSBC correctly. However, please note that it takes between 2-3 business days before all necessary steps involved in a new purchase or renew of service plans to be fully processed. This includes purchasing, invoicing and updating of PSBC. In the example shown below, the access to DLP for this organization will be ready by either Thursday Oct 29 th or Friday Oct 30 th, We advise you to attempt to access the DLP at the end of the third business day after the Service Plan Start Date. You don t need to follow steps described in Parts I, II and III. Follow only these three steps, instead: Go to PartnerSource Select Readiness & Training Click E-Learning If after applying instructions in Parts I, II and III, you still face issues accessing DLP, please contact DLP Support with step-by-step screenshot and we will be happy to assist you. 2 INTRODUCTION This document contains three parts. The resolution steps described in each part were created to resolve DLP access issues for Microsoft Dynamics Partners that are accessing DLP for the first time. PART I Access to PartnerSource This first part describes the steps to verify your access to PartnerSource. 1. Go to PartnerSource Very important: If you are prompted with the following error message, this means that in order to access DLP you must first have a working PartnerSource account. To get a working PartnerSource account, you need to contact your PartnerSource s contact for all PartnerSource Business Center issues or Administrator in your company. If you do not know who this person is in your company, follow one of these options to validate and set up your profile completely: Option 1: Reach out to a colleague in your company that is able to access PartnerSource. Ask your colleague to follow the steps described in Part II, steps 1, 3-8 of this document with you. Option 2: if option 1 does not suit you, contact IT MBS Support at itmbssup@microsoft.com with the following information. Subject: Cannot access PartnerSource Administrator not found Hi IT MBS Support, I can t access PartnerSource and I was not able to find out who my PartnerSource administrator is. Can you please help me validate and set up my profile completely? Here are my partner organization details: Partner organization name: Partner organization account number: 2 P a g e

3 After your access to PartnerSource is completed with either the help of your administrator or the IT MBS Support team, please proceed to Part II, steps 1-6, 9-11 of this document. PART II Send Invite This second part describes the steps you need to complete with the assistance of The contact for all PartnerSource Business Center issues or Administrator in your company. 1. Go to PartnerSource 2. At the top right hand side, you will see either your name spelled out or an account. If you see an account as displayed on the screenshot below, take note of it. You will need to use this address later on in Part III, step # At the top right hand side, select PartnerSource Business Center 4. Select Partner Focus 5. Select View all Professional 6. You will be prompted with the Professionals Page 3 P a g e

4 7. Search for your name under field Name and write down the address that is listed against your name. Very important: If your name is not found in PSBC, you will need to ask your Administrator to add your contact details as described in step 9 below. 8. Search for names of professionals in your company under field Role(s) and locate The contact for all PartnerSource Business Center issues. Write down their addresses. You will need to work directly with them to have your PSBC profile account properly associated with a Microsoft account. If you don t find a person under such a role, then locate the Administrator role. 9. Send an to those professionals in your company that have the role of The contact for all PartnerSource Business Center issues or Administrator that you noted. Write them an with the following subject and message: Subject: Relationship with Microsoft Send Invite requested Message: I am trying to access DLP and for that I need to have my PSBC profile account properly associated with a Microsoft Account. To do that, please follow these steps and let me know when you have completed this task: a. Launch PartnerSource b. Open PartnerSource Business Center c. Select Partner Focus d. Select View all Professionals e. Locate and double-click my name on the profile page If you cannot find my name, please add me with the following information: First Name (required): Middle Name: Last Name (required): Local Site Preference (required): (required): Role(s): f. Scroll down to Relationship with Microsoft on the profile page g. Select Send Invite 10. After The contact for all PartnerSource Business Center issues or Administrator has confirmed the completion of the task, you should receive an automatic on the account that you noted in step 7 above. 4 P a g e

5 11. Carefully follow all the steps provided in the that you received from IT MBS Support with the subject titled Microsoft Dynamics PartnerSource Invitation. You should perform the steps by using Windows and Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. If you are in doubt on how to perform any of the steps described in the , please review Part IV of this document where you can find the exact same steps, however with screenshots. 12. After you have performed the steps described in the and successfully accessed PartnerSource, proceed to Part III to learn how to enter the Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal. 5 P a g e

6 PART III How to access the Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal 1. In PartnerSource, select Readiness & Training > E-Learning 2. You will be prompted with the Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal Welcome page. a. If you have performed the account association by using a Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID such as hotmail, outlook, SkyDrive, Xbox LIVE or other Microsoft services), then select Microsoft Dynamics Partners Sign In b. If you have performed the account association by using an Organizational Account, then select Organizational Accounts Sign In Note: If instead of the Welcome Page, you are again prompted with a We re sorry page, please contact DLP Support at dlpsupport@microsoft.com with step-by-step screenshot for assistance. 3. You will be prompted with the Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal My Profile page. 6 P a g e

7 4. Fill out the required fields. This is only required on your first visit to DLP. 5. Click Save & Continue. 6. You will be prompted with DLP Home Page and you are now ready to consume any training assets! 7. Add the link to your favorites to help you access DLP on your next visit to the portal. 9 PART IV Microsoft Account or Organization Account Association This part describes the same steps described in the you received from IT MBS Support, however with screenshots. Before you start following the steps below, it is important that: you perform these steps by using Windows and Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge you learn about the difference between Microsoft Account and Organizational account. This is going to determine the option you will select in step 11 below. What is the difference between Microsoft Account and Organizational account? A Microsoft Account, formally Windows Live ID, is an identity that is managed by Microsoft for people who use services such as Windows 8, Xbox LIVE, Outlook.com, or Windows Phone. A Microsoft Account will usually take the form of a person s personal Outlook.com or Hotmail account and is named by the person who creates that account when they sign up for one of those services. An organizational account is an identity that allows people who belong to, or are employed by, organizations that have signed up for a Microsoft organizational service, such as Office 365 or Windows Intune, to access those services. Unlike Microsoft Accounts, organizational accounts are named and managed by an administrator for the organization that has signed up for Microsoft online services and, while an organizational account can be hosted by Microsoft through Windows Azure Active Directory, it can also be synchronized or federated with Windows Azure Active Directory from an organization s own on-premise Active Directory infrastructure. Close any opened browsers. 4. Make sure that you are not logged on to any other Microsoft Accounts during this process such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com. 5. Clean your cache as follows: In Internet Explorer a) Open Internet Explorer b) Click Safety (or use CTRL+Shift+Del) c) Select Delete browsing history In Microsoft Edge a) Open Microsoft Edge b) Click the horizontal ellipsis located at the top right hand side c) Click Settings d) Click Choose what to clear 9 P a g e

10 d) Checkmark the following two items and click Delete e) Wait until you get a message stating that IE has finished deleting the selected browsing history f) Proceed to step 6 e) Checkmark the following items and click Clear 6. Restart your computer 7. Open an InPrivate Browsing window/session as follows: f) Wait until you get a message stating that MS Edge has finished deleting the selected browsing history g) Proceed to step 6 a) Open Internet Explorer b) Click Tools c) Select InPrivate Browsing In Internet Explorer In Microsoft Edge a) Open Microsoft Edge b) Click the horizontal ellipsis located at the top right hand side c) Select New InPrivate window i. d) Proceed to step 8 d) Proceed to step 8 8. 11 9. Copy the URL link 10. Paste it in the InPrivate Browsing window Note: if you are using Edge, select Keep going in Microsoft Edge 11. You will be prompted with the following Sign In page: Very important! You have two Sign In options: Option 1: Select Microsoft Dynamics Customers and Partners to sign in with Microsoft Account, which you noted down in Part II, step 2. If you do not have a Microsoft account, one can be obtained by visiting the Microsoft account web site at You will be prompted with a Microsoft Account Log In page. 11 P a g e

12 Option 2: Select Organizational account if your company has signed up for a Microsoft organizational service, such as Office 365. An organizational account can take the form of a user s organizational address, such as username@orgname.com. You will be prompted with a Microsoft Log In page showing the Space Needle. Sign in using your organization account provided by your work or school. You should see your company logo by now and you could potentially be asked for phone or SMS authentication. After you have completed the sign in with either option 1 or option 2, you will be prompted with the following Thank You message. This means that the account association is being processed and you will need to wait for 1 Hour before performing the next steps. Very important note: If you get the This Account Is Already Associated message instead, it is because you have already associated your account to a MS account (formerly Windows Live ID) in the past. 12. Open a new window in InPrivate Browsing and go to PartnerSource After you have successfully accessed PartnerSource, proceed to Part III of this document. 12 P a g e
