3 1. Introduction 1.1 What is written in this manual? 'Toyota s IMDS Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)' is organized with numerous inquiries which we received so far. Before asking us question, please check whether you can solve the matter, reading all of the information in this FAQ. 1.2 Toyota's unique requirements As you know, IMDS's necessary requirements to input data into IMDS are shown in IMDS Recommendation'. You can find it after you log into IMDS. In addition to IMDS's necessary requirements, there are Toyota's unique requirements to input data into IMDS. If you submit this data to Toyota, please create data which fulfill both IMDS and Toyota's requirements. IMDS and Toyota s requirements need to be fulfilled by not only Toyota s Tier1 suppliers, but also Tier1 s suppliers(tier2,3,4, etc.). Therefore, Toyota strongly recommends Tier1 suppliers to provide their suppliers thorough instructions about appropriate data creation for Toyota. If Tier1's suppliers do not fulfill these requirements, Tier1 suppliers have to ask their suppliers to correct and resubmit data to them. 3

Toyota's IMDS Frequently Asked Questions ( Frequently asked questions to Toyota about IMDS input, and answers to them from Toyota.) 3. Toyota Error Code List (Explanation about each Toyota Error Code) You can find these manuals here: IMDS HP --> FAQ --> Choose 'OEM Specific Info'--> 'Is there any additional information concerning Toyota's Global IMDS Rollout?', 'What do the Toyota Error codes mean?'. 1.4 IMDS's manuals Before you study Toyota's unique requirements, please study about IMDS's necessary requirements about input. 5 2. Question and Answer No Question Answer A-1 Do I need to add the "T" at the beginning of a part nubmer and the "-" in the middle of a part number? Please refer to chapter 10 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. A-2 Some of the part numbers have a letter at the end. What is this? This letter is called minor code. When the Engineering Change is given to the part, its minor code is upgraded.(e.g A will become B when Engineering Chang is given.) A. Requested Part Number A-3 A-4 A-5 Some component parts which aren't manufacutured by our company are shown in Part List. How should I handle them? We have already confirmed that our data was "accepted"on IMDS before, but we are asked to submit the data again. Do we have to submit it again? We have received a request for inputting material data. However, the data has not been changed. Even so, should I submit the data into IMDS? Please check the Part List which is attached to our Official Request . If the component parts whose data you are waiting to be submitted from your supplier are shown as TOYOTA Supplied Part, you don't have to receive the data from your supplier. You can use dummy data of TOYOTA Supplied Part. For details, please refer to chapter 5 of the IMDS Manual for Toyota Options. If the component part is not TOYOTA Supplied Part, but a self supplied part, it's your responsibility to follow up your supplier to submit component part data to you. We need you to input them again, even if nothing has changed. In order to confirm if your data comply with ELV directives, we must check the substance data again. Therefore, you should submit this data again. Please submit the data again. Even if nothing has changed, we need to confirm the data which has been remaining without change. A-6 A-7 The requested part number has minor code. Do I have to send the data with the latest minor code? We have received a request for the same part number under different projects. Do we have to submit the data twice? Please input the data of requested minor code. For further details, please refer to chapter 2 of the IMDS Manual for Toyota Options. In such case, we can suppose various causes. Thus, please inform Toyota Contact Person in your region. 5

6 No Question Answer B-1 B-2 When I try to send a datasheet, I get the message "Warning:Please register a public norm or a Toyota In-house norm". Why do these messages appear? What do I have to do to correct it? One part has color variation. How should different colors in paint be reported? Please input the data for either Public standard or In-house standard(ts standard) because it is Toyota's unique requirement. For further details, please refer to chapter 10 of the IMDS Manual for Toyota Options. Please input the data of color which contains substance shown in GADSL the most. B-3 What is the TOYOTA Supplied Part? How can I handle it? Please refer to chapter 5 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. B-4 How do I input metallic coated steel flat product? Please refer to chapter 8 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. B. How to Input Data B-5 Do I have to report the data for material, which was attached at the time of manufacturing in our plant? (e.g. paint markers, adhesive tapes, ink, chalk, etc) B-6 Why can't we see the standard in the data from our suppliers? B-7 When I input material data in "Ingredients" screen, what should I select in the pull down menu which shows "GADSL"? It is necessary for you to report all the materials in IMDS, even if they are used in very small amount. If your suppliers input OEM standard, only the material suppliers and the OEM who own the standard can see it. This is why you cannot see the standard. Toyota requires you to choose "GADSL". B-8 When we look for the requested part number through the search menu in Company Data page, there is not the part number. In such case, please input your part number manually. For further information, please refer to chapter 10 of the " IMDS Manual for Toyota Options". B-9 Which is the Toyota's company ID? It is Only North American supplier should input the company/org-id: B-10 I want to upgrade version of our data on IMDS. How should I do? Please refer to IMDS User Manual. 6

7 C-1 The error code for my rejected data sheet is "D06", I don't understand what is meant with this error code. Please refer to Toyota Error Code List. C. Error Correction C-2 How should I submit "Engineering Change Number"? Please refer to chapter 10 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. C-3 How do I know why my data were rejected? Please refert to chapter 11 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. C-4 Can we modify the data whatever its status is? - You can modify the data only when the status is "accepted" or " rejected". - In case you have to modify immediately or it has been taking a long time for the status to be changed, please inform us. We will reject the data so that you can modify it. C-5 The message "Wrong Supplier Code or Wrong P/N is entered" appeared when we have tried to submit data. How should I do? Please check again whether your supplier code or part number is entered correctly. For confirming the correct supplier code or part number, see Part List attached to Official Request . D-1 I cannot open the 'zip-file'. Please refer to chapter 3 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. D. Other D-2 No file was attached in Official Request . Please refer to chapter 3 of the IMDS Manual for TOYOTA Options. D-3 If I send a datasheet to a certain recipient, is this the only one who can see it? Can every user see the data sheet? By selecting an appropriate button, you can restrict the recipient you want to release. For further information, please refer to IMDS User Manual. 7
