2 Resolved issues BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino version 2.1 Service Pack 1 resolves the following issues: When forwarding or replying to a message, the addresses in the original message are now displayed correctly. The addresses of the CC recipients are now correctly rendered when the message arrives. The BlackBerry Server Manager Edit User dialog box now recognizes an alphanumeric PIN that is entered in the incorrect case and allows an encryption key to be generated for that PIN. When the BlackBerry Server Manager detects duplicate PIN numbers, a dialog box now shows the names of the two users with duplicate PINs and indicates which user owns the PIN. Users that have been deleted no longer have a PIN value assigned to them, so their PINs are not detected during duplicate PIN detection. The user s PIN is no longer case-sensitive and can be regenerated using the BlackBerry Enterprise Manager. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server now sends a cancellation message to invitees who have been either added to or deleted from a cancelled meeting. Invitees who have been modified also receive a new, edited request message. The Beijing time zone is now mapped correctly. All instances of a recurring meeting that are in the time zone with the same bias, the normal difference between a time zone and Greenwich Mean Time, as Daylight Savings Time (DST) are no longer marked as exceptions. When a recurring meeting that contains several exceptions is created on the handheld, updates that are made to the sequence using Lotus Notes are no longer reflected in the exception meetings. Deleting all documents that are related to a recurring meeting now displays a correct message in the debug log. Updating one instance of a recurring calendar event on the handheld no longer updates the rest of the instances in the Lotus Notes. Adding an invitee to a single instance of a recurring meeting no longer causes other instances of that meeting to be deleted from the organizer s Calendar. Adding a BlackBerry user to a single instace of a recurring meeting no longer adds all the instances of the recurring event to the BlackBerry user s Lotus Notes. Updating a repeating meeting in Lotus Notes no longer duplicates all the instances. The updates are reflected in the original instance on the handheld and in Lotus Notes. The notification that is associated with the meeting invitation is now reflected on the invitee s Calendar when the invitation is accepted in Lotus Notes. 2 BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino

3 Updates to the subject of a previously created meeting are now synchronized with the Lotus Notes notification settings. Adding an invitee to all instances of a recurring meeting no longer causes the meeting to be duplicated in the user s Calendar. Meeting invitations that are accepted by a delegate no longer display the delegate s name in the Accepted list on the handheld. Meeting invitations sent from the handheld are no longer displayed as attachments to the recipient. Deleting a meeting on the handheld no longer sends out a decline message. Invitees who were added to an existing meeting can now accept the meeting on their handheld without receiving an error. Inviting a user to one instance of a recurring meeting that was created on the handheld no longer causes the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to stop responding. Messages that are sent from the handheld that contain accented characters are now rendered correctly. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server now supports the euro symbol. Level one messages now appear in bold on the 5800 Series of wireless handhelds. When the user is out of a wireless coverage area, all the messages that were delivered to the handheld, or that are waiting to be delivered, are deleted after seven days. The Critical option was removed from Default Logging and Notification Levels in the BlackBerry Server Alert and User Alert configuration dialog boxes. The Protected field flag now remains in the Deleted field after a BlackBerry user account is disabled and then re-enabled in the BlackBerry Server Manager. An icon was added the BlackBerry Server Manager, which indicates whether a user account was disabled by an administrator or the user. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server CPU no longer displays an invalid 100% usage reading during poor network conditions and prolonged mail file unavailability. The OK button in the BlackBerry Server Manager Add to Server window is now unavailable until a user is selected. 4 System requirements Note: For full installation instructions, refer to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.1 for Lotus Domino Installation and Getting Started Guide. To open the guide after you install the software, on the Start menu, select Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino > Documentation > Installation and Getting Started Guide. The following components are required to install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino Software: Hardware Intel-compatible Pentium 2 or higher (233 MHz or higher, 128-MB RAM) 1 GB of free hard disk drive space 10-Mbps LAN connection Software The BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server utilities require the following software on the computer on which they are installed: Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or later Lotus Domino Server 5.03 or later Other requirements The Lotus Domino mail server and Lotus Notes client software must be version 4.6 or later. Your corporate firewall must be able to resolve Internet addresses using the Domain Name Server (DNS). You should install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server in the same Lotus Notes Named Network and Domino Domain as the Lotus Domino mail servers. You must use 2.1 administration tools to administer a BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.1. If you are upgrading from a previous version, make sure that you upgrade the administration tools when you upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software. Firewall configuration The BlackBerry Enterprise Server initiates outbound connections to the wireless network. To support the BlackBerry solution in a firewall environment, the firewall must be configured to enable computers within the company that are running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to initiate TCP connections to an outside server that is listening on port If you have a proxy-based firewall, the proxy must either be 4 BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino

5 transparent or, where the client computer specifies the proxy s host name and port number, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server must be configured to access an internal proxy address, which is then externally translated to the wireless network on port Note: A transparent proxy DOES NOT modify requests or responses through the proxy during proxy authentication and identification. However, a non-transparent proxy (in which the client specifies the host name and port number of the proxy) DOES modify requests or responses through the proxy. Installing BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software (includes Hotfix 1) If you have not already installed BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, complete the following steps to install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino. Note: To upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, refer to Upgrading existing BlackBerry Enterprise Server installations to Service Pack 1 on page 7. To remove the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, refer to Removing BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software on page 9. Installing the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software installs the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and its associated administrative tools. Install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software on the Lotus Domino Server that acts as the gateway to the wireless network. To install BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software 1. Download the service pack software to the computer that will run the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. 2. In the location that you specified during the download, open setup.exe to start the installation. A Welcome screen appears. 3. Click Next. The Select Your Country screen appears. 4. Select the country in which you purchased your license for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software. 5. Click Next. The Software License Agreement screen appears. 6. Read the license agreement carefully; if you agree to its terms, click Yes. The Choose Setup Type screen appears. 7. To install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, select BlackBerry Server and Utilities. This option installs the BlackBerry Enterprise Server task and the administrator interface. Readme 5

6 8. Click Next. The first BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino Setup screen appears. Note: For remote administation, you can install the BlackBerry Enterprise Server utilities on client computers. 9. In the System Attendant field, type the address of the system administrator. Use a valid address that can send and receive user alert or warning messages from the administrative program (BESAdmin). 10. Click Next. The second BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino Setup screen appears. 11. In the Connection to SRP section, type the following values: In the Host Name field, type the SRP Address (also referred to as SRP Host) that is provided with your SRP Information. The SRP Host connects to the wireless network. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server can be located anywhere 6 BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino

7 on the LAN and route its TCP/IP traffic through the firewall or through a transparent proxy server. In the Port field, the SRP Port, configured during the firewall configuration process, is set to 3101, and is typically not changed. This is an outbound-initiated connection. 12. Click Test Connection. The setup program performs a test to ensure that the server can connect to the SRP Host that you defined. If the test is successful, a dialog box appears, confirming that the server successfully connected to the network access node. Click OK to close the dialog box and continue the installation. If the test is not successful, a warning dialog box appears. Note the error message, and click OK to close the dialog box. 13. In the SRP Authentication section, type the SRP Identifier and Authentication Key found on the installation CD label. These values are unique to each host license. Each BlackBerry Enterprise Server requires a unique SRP Identifier and SRP Authentication Key. Tip: To simplify installations, upgrades, and reinstallations, create a.txt file that contains your authentication key. You can use this.txt file to copy the key and paste it into the Authentication Key field. Keep this file in a secure directory. 14. Click Next. The Choose Destination Location screen appears. 15. Verify that the destination path is correct and click Next. Note: The default path for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\. 16. On the Select Program Folder dialog box, verify that the correct folder is selected and click Next to complete the installation. When the installation is complete, a confirmation window appears. 17. Click Finish. Upgrading existing BlackBerry Enterprise Server installations to Service Pack 1 Upgrading the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software also upgrades the administrative utilities that are installed on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server computer. When you upgrade BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, you should also upgrade the BESAdmin and BESAlert software on any computers used for remote BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration. Note: Refer to Removing BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software on page 9 for information on removing the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Readme 7

8 To upgrade BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software 1. Download the service pack software to the computer that runs the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. 2. In the location that you specified during the download, open setup.exe to start the upgrade. A Welcome screen appears. 3. Click Next. The Select Your Country screen appears. 4. Select the country in which you purchased your license for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, and then click Next. The Software License Agreement screen appears. 5. Read the license agreement carefully; if you agree to its terms, click Yes. The first BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino Setup screen appears. 6. In the System Attendant field, confirm the address of the system administrator. 7. Click Next to continue. The second BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino Setup screen appears. 8 BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino

9 8. Confirm the values, and click Next. The installer performs the upgrade operation. When the upgrade is complete, a confirmation screen appears. 9. Click Finish. Removing BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software 1. To shut down the Lotus Domino Server, in the Lotus Domino Server console, type quit. 2. To remove the Blackberry Enterprise Server, on the Start menu, select Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. An Add/Remove window appears. 3. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties window, select BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino and click Add/Remove (Windows NT) or Change/Remove (Windows 2000). A Confirm File Deletion dialog box appears. 4. Click OK to remove the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software. A confirmation window appears when all programs are successfully removed. 5. Click Finish. Note: Removing the application does not remove the user configuration and message queue databases. If you want to remove these items as well, they are located in the BES folder in the Lotus Domino Server data directory.
