The alerts given by the Norwood Alert software are not to be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold a currency. Only investors who are aware of the risks inherent in margined currency trading should use this information. NOTE: The Norwood Alert will work on any Meta Trader 4 platform. We use several different brokers. If you see any specific broker represented it is because that was the platform we had up at the time these instructions were written. Windows XP installation instructions: (Windows Vista instructions are below) **Close your trading platform before installing alerts** Click on the download link on the thank-you page or in the welcome . You will see a pop up box like the following. Click on Save File. You will see an icon appear on your desktop that looks like the following: Double click on the icon and you will see a pop up box like the one below. Click on the Run button.

2 Click on Run, you will see the following box pop up, then double click on the Local Disk (C:). After clicking on Local Disk (C:) the list of folders will expand as seen below.

3 Now double click on Program Files. After clicking on Program Files, you will see an expanded list of all of your programs. Find your MT4 program and click once on it to highlight it. This will highlight the file blue. Now all you have left to do is click on OK.

4 Success! Your alerts are installed on your MT4 platform with Windows XP Operating system. VISTA Instillation instructions: **Close your trading platform before installing alerts** Click on the download link on the thank-you page or in the welcome . You will see a pop up box like the following. Click on save. You are saving an icon to your desktop. You will have to check that you want the icon on your desktop. If you would like it in a different location then you need to choose your location here. Once you have the location selected click on save.

5 Once the Download is complete click on Run. You will get some security warnings click yes to each security question.

6 You will see the icon appear on your desktop. Double click on the icon. You should see a window pop up like the following. Double click on the C: drive. This will expand a list of folders and files on your C: drive. Double click on program files.

7 After clicking on Program files, you will see a list of all of the programs on your computer. This is where you will find your MT4 program files.. Find your MT4 program folder and click once on it to highlight the file in blue. Now all you have left to do is click on OK.

8 Success! Your alerts are installed on your MT4 platform with Windows Vista Operating system. ******************************************************************************************************************* Very Important Step ******************************************************************************************************************* If you leave this step out it will cause you a lot of frustration. Open up your trading platform. Go to the menu at the top of the trading platform and click on tools then select options from the drop down menu. Then Select the Expert Advisor as seen below. Put a check in all the boxes on the left. Leave the boxes on the right unchecked. You only have to do this step once. As soon as you have all of the correct boxes checked then click OK.

9 ******************************************************************************************************************* End of Important Step ******************************************************************************************************************* ATTACHING THE NORWOOD ALERT TO A CHART Now go to the Navigator. The Navigator is found on the lower lift area of the platform. If you do not see the Navigator then do the following: Navigator As you click on the plus keys next to the Expert Advisors, Custom Indicator, and the Scripts you will see the following items pop up:

10 From the Navigator list find the Experts Advisors icon. A list of the Experts that are installed on this version of the trading platform will appear below.

11 Now right click on the NalertNotifier where you will see a drop down box open. Click on Add to favorites as seen below. Do this in the Custom Indicator list for the NAlert, and the NAlertMonitor and in the Scripts for the NAlertPeriod. This will put the Alert in an easy to find location on the navigator box in the Favorites tab at the bottom of the Navigator box.

When you install the alerts for the first time you will see a box pop up box asking for your PRODUCT KEY, as seen below.

12 PUTTING THE ALERTS ON A CHART IN THE MT4 TRADING PLATFORM Click on the NAlertNotifer then drag and drop it on the chart area, do this with each of the parts of the Alert. See the pop up boxes below for each part of the alert. When you install the alerts for the first time you will see a box pop up box asking for your PRODUCT KEY, as seen below. You can find your Product Key on the thank-you page after you signed up for the alerts or in the you were sent afterwards. Just copy and paste the product key to this box.

13 If you have forgotten or lost your Product Key you can find it in the Members Area on our website at See the instructions below.

14 You can also find it from the Member s Page by clicking on Edit Profile/Account Info.

Make sure that there is a face in the top right hand corner of the platform as seen below.

15 You will see the NorwoodAlertNotifier appear in the top right corner of the chart area, as seen below. If the Expert Advisor icon has a red instead of a green circle, click on the icon until you have a green circle. Make sure that there is a face in the top right hand corner of the platform as seen below. If there is an X you need to click on the Expert Advisor icon so it has a green circle. Once the expert advisor is on the platform it is ready to give trading alerts on any chart you have attached the Norwood Alert to.

You just have to click OK you do not have to make any changes.

16 Now click on the NAlert and drag and drop it onto the chart area. You will see a box like the following box pop up. You just have to click OK you do not have to make any changes. You should see the Alert arrows appear on your chart. Now click on the NAlertMonitor, drag and drop to the chart area. You will see a box pop up as seen below. Just click OK.

Once you click on OK you will see the NalertMonitor appear in the top right corner as seen below. Now click on the NAlertPeriod, drag and drop to the chart area.

17 Once you click on OK you will see the NalertMonitor appear in the top right corner as seen below. Now click on the NAlertPeriod, drag and drop to the chart area. You will see a box like the one below where you can select the time frames you want to follow. Then click OK. Once you have selected a time frame you will see the send Mail (which is text also) and show Dialog will also be checked. You may change the settings once you click on a time frame. The time frames you want to follow will appear after one of two things happen. The price changes on the currency or you change the time frame you are in to another time frame. If you do not see the times come up instantly this is why.

When you get an alert signal you will see a pop up box as seen below.

18 To remove or change the time frames you want to follow, click on the NalertPeriod icon drag and drop it on the chart again then select or unselect the time you would like. When you get an alert signal you will see a pop up box as seen below. You can leave the Dialogue box open or you may close it. All Alerts for the time frames you are tracking will come back when you re-open the box. To re-open the Dialogue box, click on the icon in your tool bar as seen below.

The period is the time frames you have selected. You may have more than one time frame selected as shown below.

19 In the upper left hand corner you will see the title Norwood Alert Monitor. Just below you will see Period, (which gives you a choice for text as well),and Dialog. If you want an or text you will see a Yes indicated and if you want the dialog box to pop up you will see a Yes. These choices are made when you select the NAlertPeriod icon.

20 In the above illustration the red arrows are not good signals in this example because they are not going with the trend. If this were a downtrend then the red arrows would be the signals you would be looking for. Then the blue signals are the signals not to take. These are the four ways you may receive signals from the alert. The Dialogue box and the Arrows on the charts are the Visual signals. There is a Sound from your computer speakers for the audio. You may have either an or text alert, which goes to your computer or cell phone for remote tracking of the alerts. You may have one of the alerts or any combination of the four alerts signals set to notify you of potential trades. HOW TO REMOVE THE ALERT FROM A CHART To remove the NalertNotifier and smiley face from the chart, right click in the chart area, from the menu that pops up select Expert Advisor then click on remove. To remove the arrows from the chart right click in the chart area then select the Indicator list it is the 3rd item from the top. You will see a pop up box like the one below. Left click on the NAlert to highlight it in blue then click on delete. This will take the red and blue arrows off the charts. To remove the NAlert Monitor click to highlight, then click on delete. HOW THE ALERT WORKS When the criteria are met for the alert you will see the dialogue box pop up with the direction of the trade, the currency pair, and the time frame. When you go to the chart and time frame you will see the arrow. When the arrow is visible it will move up or down with the price movement of the candle or bar. When a new bar is formed the arrow will stay at the highest or lowest point the bar reached.

You only take the signals in the direction of the trend. By doing this you will increase your chances of having more winning trades than losing trades. Usually the bad signals are retracements, consolidations, or resting points, except at the time of a trend reversal. You would look to the larger time frames to get a heads up on trend reversals. Once you get a signal make sure you know which direction the trend is going. As seen below the signal is given at the beginning of the candle so you have a very good entry point. Be sure and use your stop loss settings. All of the other trading skills need to be acknowledged and used. ***The Alert is only to give you a signal to come and look at the charts not to automatically enter a trade. It is just a tool to make your trading easier so you are not glued to the computer all the time and you can cover more ground on more different pairs.***

TEXT MESSAGE OR EMAILS To activate your email and text message alerts follow these instructions. Go to the MT4 trading platform.

Click on the email tab then the OK button. Click on the email tab and put a check in the Enable box. Then use the following information to fill in the blanks: SMTP Server: box247.bluehost.

22 TEXT MESSAGE OR S To activate your and text message alerts follow these instructions. Go to the MT4 trading platform. On the top menu click on Tools menu then click on options in the drop down box. Once you have clicked on options you will see a box that looks like the following. Click on the tab then the OK button. Click on the tab and put a check in the Enable box. Then use the following information to fill in the blanks: SMTP Server: box247.bluehost.com:25 SMTP login: alertsetup@forexstrategysecrets.com SMTP password: Put the word password as the password In the From: alerts@forexstrategysecrets.com In the To: Enter either your phone s address or a regular address you would like the alert sent to. If you do not find your mobile phone providers listed below call them and ask for your phone s address.

If you want an email instead of a text you can put your email in the To: box in place of the phone. The phone number should be the phone you want the text sent to.

The Number below is for illustrations purposes only. If you do not see your phone service listed below you will need to contact your cell phone service provider and ask them for your phone s address. Verizon: @vtext.com Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com AT&T: @txt.att.net You will need to check to see if you have text message capability for your phone. Also it would be wise to consider having an unlimited texting on your service plan, depending on how many alerts you want to receive. For example: if you choose to only have the 1 hour and 4 hour alert signals sent to you, on 6 currency pairs you could get up to 30 good alerts a day. If you just add the 30-minute time frame this could increase the number of good alerts by between 25 and 30 additional alerts per day. This could be between 45 to 60 good signals a day. For a month of trading you could get 1000 plus good alerts a month. So be sure you either have unlimited texting on your phone or be selective about how many currency pairs and time-frames you want to be notified of. Remember not all the alerts are good alerts. You only want to take the alerts that are going in the direction of the trend on a larger time frame. Before you make a trade check the trend on a larger time frame, and time your entry by using a smaller time frame to increase the probability of a successful trade. The Alert signal is just another set of eyes watching the market for you. It can become noise, so set it for your style of trading and use it as a tool. It can give you so much information on developing trades that you can get confused. Have your trading plan in place and know what type of trading you like to do. Do you prefer long term trading, swing trading, or shorter term trading? You may do long term

24 trading when you are away from your computer. You may do short term or day trading when you are going to be near your computer.
