2 The mission of Part of the Solution (POTS) is to be a loving community in the Bronx that nourishes the basic needs and hungers of all who come to its door. Helping low-income families and individuals since 1982, POTS has grown from a small soup kitchen to a leading provider of emergency food, social services and legal representation in the Bronx. POTS one-stop shop method of service delivery offers a variety of services to move individuals and families from the crisis of poverty to stability and ultimately self-sufficiency.

The gifts of each individual are valued and appreciated.
4 Morning Meal Prep - 8:15AM to 11:15AM Contribute you culinary talents to create nutritious meals for POTS Daily Lunch Service. Act as a chef s assistant in creating over 500 portions of vegetable, grain, and protein dishes for POTS clients. No cooking experience required. Community Dining Room 12:00PM to 4:00PM Provide exceptional customer service in POTS restaurant style community dining room. This is a fast-paced client facing opportunity where you will be serving and plating meals, maintaining table upkeep, and creating a welcoming experience for all. Food Pantry Stocking 11:00AM to 1:00PM Exceptional organizational skills or like to work with you hands? Receive, unpack, and sort the assortment of groceries for POTS food pantry. Create an inviting boutique grocery store environment for families and individuals to select ingredients for homemade meals. Food Pantry Volunteer 9:00AM to 12PM Lend a helping hand. Assist POTS families by acting as a personal shopper and store clerk in POTS food pantry. Be the face of POTS hospitality and directly interact with POTS clients one on one.
5 In order to provide the most impact with your time, please abide by the following: Sign in for all shifts at the front desk terminal with your assigned pin. Be on time for all shifts. Sign up for volunteer shifts online. If you cannot attend your shift, please remove yourself from the schedule 48+ hours in advance. Notify Sandra Bartell at if you will be late or there is an emergency. Please do not register your group for two weekend days in a row. Dress Code Please dress appropriately for your shifts; keep in mind that you may be in close contact with very hot ovens. Wear closed-toed shoes in the kitchen, Community Dining Room and Food Pantry. Be prepared to wear a hat or hair net during your shift in the Community Dining Room.
6 As a POTS volunteer, you are part of a network 4,000 strong who contribute 30,000 hours of service to POTS each year. It is because of your efforts that we are able to help 25,000 lowincome individuals and families move from crisis to stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency this year alone. 7 POTS would like ALL volunteers to sign in and out. VicTouch is a touch screenbased Volunteer Information Center (abbreviated as "Vic") that allows volunteers to check-in and out upon arrival and departure from POTS. Sign-in What follows are the general steps for checking in POTS VicTouch station. 1. Enter your volunteer PIN number. Each volunteer must have a PIN before he/she can sign-in at VicTouch. You will have received an with your PIN number. To start, enter your PIN by touching the appropriate number buttons on the keypad. After entering your PIN, touch the Continue button. 2. Confirm your name.
8 If the screen displays the correct name, touch the Yes button. If the name displayed is not yours, touch the No button and try again. 3. Select the Sign-in button *If you are representing a group, you may be asked to choose the number of volunteers serving. 4. Choose the Assignment you are here to perform. 5. Review and Confirm the sign-in information. If the screen displays the correct information, touch the Yes button. If the information displayed is not accurate, touch the No button and try again. Once you confirm your selections, you are officially signed in.
9 Sign-Out When you have completed your volunteer service, you will need to return to the VicTouch station to sign-out. The system needs both a sign-in and signout time to properly record your hours, so remembering to sign-out is very important (Especially if you need your hours for school or Community Service, we can attest to them in our system). The process for signing out of VicTouch is quite similar to signing in. 1. Enter your PIN 2. Touch Continue, and confirm your identity 3. Touch the Sign-out button on the VicTouch screen to initiate the check-out procedure. If you are switching Assignments, touch the Switch assignments button, and then choose the name of the Assignment you will be performing next. To get a report of your hours please log into the volunteer management system

Click the Forget your password? link If you have forgotten the password you use to login to your organization's VicNet portal, start by clicking the Forget your password? link on the login page. Here is the Link: M=151428&ACT=211&C=24 If you see a field to enter an account number on the login page you're viewing, you are at the wrong login location. Volunteers and Coordinators do not login at 2. Enter your address and click the Go button The address entered must match the address on your volunteer or coordinator record in order for the password to be sent. The system will reset your password to a temporary password you can use to login with.. 3. Sign-in to your account to retrieve your temporary password You should receive the temporary password message within a few minutes. The passwords are sent from VolunteerMail@volgistics.com. If you do not see the message in a few minutes, check the junk mail or spam folder for the message. If you do not see it, adjust your filter to allow messages from VolunteerMail@volgistics.com or add VolunteerMail@volgistics.com to your safe sender list. 4. Login to VicNet with the temporary password and reset your password Return to the login page for your organization's VicNet portal, enter your address and the temporary password you received in the message, and then click the Go button. You will not be able to access any of the tabs in VicNet until you have changed the temporary password that was sent to you.
