2 What are recognition programs? Recognition programs evaluate and recognize giving from constituents. You can create programs such as donor wall, honor wall or giving club. Within each program, you can include recognition levels such as Gold, Silver and Bronze. The recognition process calculates the donations received from constituents and awards them when they achieve an applicable level in the program.

3 Where are recognition programs in Altru? Recognition Programs can accessed from the main Constituents page.

When a constituent becomes part of a recognition program, you can see this on their constituent record by accessing the Recognition Program tab from Revenue and Recognition. This will screen will tell you the date they joined, total $ recognized and the $ amount to the next level.

5 Where are recognition programs in Altru? (cont.) From the recognition programs tab, you can manually add and delete recognitions as necessary. You can also decline recognition program levels. If a constituent has declined a recognition program level, the recognition process will not include the constituent for that level, even if they qualify. You will need Development Data Entry, Director of Development & Executive Director to have access to this

6 How is recognition calculated? The total recognized amount is the $ value of recognition credits this person has. In order to take full advantage of this feature, you must use recognition credits. If someone does not get awarded a particular level and you are sure they have donated, check their recognition credits. Its likely they were left off their spouses donation or were not given full credit. On any payment, click Go to Revenue on the Details tab. On the recognition tab, click edit and add or remove constituents to receive credit.

7 Add a New Recognition Program From the Constituents page, click Recognition Programs Click Add On the program tab, enter the unique name like Honor Wall In the Type field, select whether this program recognizes annual or lifetime giving For limit program to, select the types of constituents eligible for the program In the expiration date field, select when this program expires Do you want to establish a cut off date.

8 Add a New Recognition Program (cont.) On the Recognition Criteria tab, enter the date this program should start recognizing transactions Enter the maximum amount to recognize in this program You can filter by specific designations Under transaction and application type, select the types of revenue to recognize Choose whether you want to include all types of recognition credits or only specific kinds like Donor, Spouse, household, etc. If a payment does not have a credit type select, do you want to include those as well. Lastly, if you want to include any other revenue to be considered in this program choose a query of this revenue.

9 Running the Constituent Recognition Process Now that you ve created the recognition program, you will need to run the process. When you run this process, the program calculates the SUM of multiple gift amounts to assign recognition to constituents To view this process, click Constituent Recognition Process on the constituents page.

10 Running the Constituent Recognition Process (cont.) To add a new process, click Add Enter the name of the process In the selected programs field, click the magnifying glass. Then, click Add to add a query of programs. Drag Recognition Program record to the include records where select equal to your program name Save and save the process Run the process

11 Who was awarded this program? 1. From Analysis, click Information Library 2. Click Add an ad-hoc query, select Constituent as the record type 3. Expand Recognition, highlight Recognition Program, drag Recognition Program Record is equal to ( ) 4. Click Preview Results 5. This is everyone that was awarded this program 6. Make sure to rerun this program at the end of every year, before the expiration date of the program
