2 CLAIM INTERFACES OVERVIEW Today, I will do an overview of the following aspects of claim interfaces: How to access the claim interface logs Claim interface types are in SSIS Messages associated with claim interface types Error message resolution Manually running claim interfaces Recommendations for scheduling interfaces 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 2

3 CLAIM INTERFACES The interface log displays messages that indicate whether your claiming transactions were successfully transmitted, received or if errors occurred 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 3

6 CLAIM INTERFACES The claiming interface log displays the following Claim Interface Log Types: MMIS Claim Submission 837 MMIS Claim Acknowledgement 997/999 MMIS Claim Status MMIS Remittance Advice 835 MMIS Eligibility 837, 997/999, and 835 are used to identify Electronic Data Interchange transaction formats. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 6

7 MMIS CLAIM SUBMISSION 837 SUCCESSFUL MESSAGES There are two messages associated with the Successful Interface Log Status: Claim File was successfully created for Claim Batch ID: X Claim file was successfully Uploaded to MMIS for Claim Batch ID: X Unless both messages are present for a given Claim Batch ID, the claim batch has not successfully been uploaded to MN-ITS. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 7

9 OTHER CLAIM INTERFACE SUCCESS MESSAGES The MMIS Claim Acknowledgement 997/999 message that indicates that the file processed successfully The MMIS Claim File message indicates that the file processed successfully 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 9

10 CLAIM INTERFACE CRITICAL ERRORS Connection to MN-ITS mailbox failed. This error means that a county was not able to login to the MN-ITS Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) server. Connection to MN-ITS mailbox failed. Timeout waiting to read socket or accept connection. This error means that a county was able to login to the MN-ITS SFTP server but timed out when attempting to upload or download a file. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 10

11 MMIS CLAIM SUBMISSION 837 ERROR MESSAGE A claim submission with a critical error or a message indicating that a claim batch was not successfully uploaded can be due to multiple issues: The error message can be due to a connection error with MN-ITS The error message can be due to corrupt data in the file 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 11

12 CRITICAL ERROR RESOLUTION The first step to resolving a critical error on the claiming interface log is to manually run the interface. To manually run an interface, go to Admin>Tools>Interface Settings and click on the MMIS Claim Interface Settings tab or folder in the Tree View. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 12

13 CRITICAL ERROR RESOLUTION Click on: MMIS Claim Submission MMIS Claim Acknowledgement MMIS Claim Status, or MMIS Claim Remittance Advice tab based on which interface you want to run 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 13

14 CRITICAL ERROR RESOLUTION Go to the Action menu and select Run Current Interface Job. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 14

15 CRITICAL ERROR RESOLUTION After clicking on the OK button that says the interface has successfully run, wait five to ten minutes before refreshing and checking the Interface Log in SSIS Worker to see if the file has been logged successfully. If no message displays, wait a while longer, refresh, and check the log again. If you receive a success message, your interface has run successfully and no further action is required. If you continue to receive an error message for the same batch/file on the Interface Log, contact the SSIS Help Line. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 15

16 INTERFACE SCHEDULE Each MMIS claim interface has a scheduled time that the interface is set to run 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 16

17 INTERFACE SCHEDULE To change the schedule for an interface: Change the Schedule Time or the Scheduled Start Hour, End Hour, and Scheduled Interval in minutes, if applicable Change the Scheduled Daily Schedule, if applicable Go to the Action menu and click on Schedule Interface. 4/11/13 SSIS Fiscal Mentor Meeting 17
