1 Retrieval Process for Requested Items using Leap (The Arts) All Items will be picked up at Book Delivery (B1ST). All properly barcoded items (39999) will be given to Book Delivery to trap the hold for the patron, while fake barcodes will be brought to Tech Services for cataloging prior to being placed on the hold shelf for a patron. If patron doesn t have library card they should be sent to Book Delivery for a valid MBLN card or a research card. The patron should be told to return to the Arts Desk to have a staff member place the request for them. Patrons are now able to place requests on these items using our online catalog. Please let patrons know they will receive electronic notification when their item is available for pickup. Retrieving the Picklist: 1. Open the URL: 2. Enter your username: bplprivate\username and your password and click SIGN IN 3. In the next window, your Department (The Arts) should automatically be selected. If not, use the dropdown menu and select The Arts 4. After the first time you log in, your workstation should automatically be selected. If not, use the dropdown menu and select the correct workstation. The tablets are named: Lenovo Arts1, Lenovo Arts2, Lenovo Arts3. 5. 2 6. A list of all requested items will be displayed. You may sort by columns by clicking on the column header 7. Once you click on an item, the action tools will become active 8. For each item: a. Click in the box to the left of the item b. Click on the appropriate action tool i. Located = found item on shelf. You must look to see if the item has a or a fake barcode items go directly to Book Delivery. Fake barcodes (3777, mq, etc) will go to Tech Services. Write the fake barcode number on a green request slip and place in book. ii. Missing = unable to find the item. Only use this once you have looked in all the possible locations. iii. 3 9. If you need more information about an item, click on the barcode to open the item record. Once you are done, click the close button to return to the Picklist 10. If you need more information about the Hold Properties, click on Properties. 4 11. If you need more information about the Hold Request, click on the item. Once you are done, click the close button to return to the Picklist 12. Once you mark an item Located, it moves to the Located queue. If you marked an item missing, it will no longer be listed in the Picklist. 13. Bring items to Book Delivery and place in designated area 14. Bring fake barcode items to Tech Services and place on Arts Priority shelf in the big room. Send an to *TS Arts to let them know you have placed items in the designated area for processing. Tech Services staff will reply to the when those items have been processed and are ready for pickup. Arts staff will collect the items from the Arts shelf in Book Receipts and bring them to Book Delivery. Requested items will have the green request slip. 15. Staff can keep track of fake barcode items that have not been completed by viewing the Located list 16. Returned items will be placed in a designated area in Book Delivery. Arts staff will be responsible for retrieving these materials, checking them in and reshelving. 5 If there are multiple copies of the same item and you are unable to find the matching barcode, you may use the Fill Now feature 1. From the picklist, click on the title you need to replace with a different copy 2. Click on Actions and select Fill Now from the dropdown menu 3. Scan in the replacement barcode 4.
