3 LEAP Release Notes Version NEW FEATURES 1. Improved Stability and Performance The LEAP Development Team are pleased to release our latest version of LEAP. In this release we have focused on improvements to stability and performance, most notably in the areas of: Microsoft Word integration Matter and Correspondence management Data synchronisation These improvements have made the overall experience of using LEAP even more robust. 2. LEAP Notification Icon As a cloud-based product, synchronisation between the LEAP Desktop application and LEAP servers is vital. This synchronisation is handled by a continuous service that runs in the background on your machine. With the latest version of LEAP, we have introduced a LEAP Notification Icon to the Notification area of the Windows desktop taskbar which informs a user about the status of the LEAP synchronisation service: 2.1. Notification Statuses The LEAP Notification Icon monitors the status of the LEAP service and will indicate the real-time status of the LEAP Desktop applications connection to LEAP servers: Notification Icon Notification Popup Status You are working online (connected to the Internet) and are connected to LEAP servers. You are working offline (not connected to the Internet) and will resynchronise when next online. You are currently synchronising data to and from LEAP servers. The last synchronisation of data to and from LEAP servers was successful. The LEAP service on your computer has stopped working and cannot be automatically restarted. You are connected to the Internet but LEAP servers are not reachable. Last Updated 7/12/15 Page 2

4 LEAP Release Notes Version ENHANCEMENTS 3. Document Management 3.1. Work While Loading a Matter or Card If a Matter or Card is taking a while to download due to a user s connection speed, the application no longer waits until the download is complete. A user can freely open other Matters, Cards or Correspondence already downloaded to their machine Cancelling Actions Users with slower connection speeds can now cancel a request such as opening a Matter, Card, or an action initiated in error. Cancel buttons have been added to most dialogs: 3.2.a. Loading Dialog for Matters, Cards and People Using the Cancel button when opening a Matter, Card, or Person will close the window immediately and cancel the request: Last Updated 7/12/15 Page 3

Progress Status Dialogs Using the Cancel button when a progress bar is displayed, such as for opening correspondence or moving documents, cancels the action being performed. For example, when deleting 10 documents, clicking Cancel when the status bar is at Deleting Document 5 of 10 will cancel the delete action and retain the remaining 6 documents: 3.3. Paste with Fields Changes required to our integration with Microsoft Word have resulted in a change to pasting text that includes fields. The automatic update of fields upon pasting has been removed, leaving the following two methods: After using Ctrl-V to paste, click Update in the LEAP Word toolbar for the fields to update; or Use the new Paste with Fields button in the LEAP Word toolbar: Last Updated 7/12/15 Page 4

6 4. Accounting 4.1. RapidPay Anticipated Deposit Statement The following enhancements have been made to the RapidPay Anticipated Deposit Statement: LEAP Release Notes Version The statement title has been changed to Anticipated Deposit Bank Account details have been removed and replaced with the Matter No. and Matter Description Reason has been moved into the Summary table 4.2. Protected Trust Funds Balance on Invoices and Statement of Account Protected Trust Funds for an invoice are now included on printed invoices. 9 5. Reports 5.1. Time & Fees Recorded by Staff The Time Recorded by Staff report has been renamed Time & Fees Recorded by Staff. LEAP Release Notes Version The Time Summary table which was previously including staff recorded Fixed Fees, has had this data moved to its own dedicated table called Fees Summary: 5.2.
