1 Trademark Request Database Summary & Directions
2 Trademark Usage Request How to access All requests to use our Trademark on behalf of a 3 rd party (outside of Prudential) must be submitted via the online database request form. The form can be accessed via Brand Central or from the URL Notes://NJROS1NAP2028/IIG/TMARKREQ.NSF Branding Review and Approval Branding Management receives Trademark Request then reviews and approved The request is routed to appropriate Law department for review : Intellectual Property (IP Law) or Technology Law approves and attaches trademark or linking license directly to the system. Requestor will be notified of next steps via an automatic response from the system. Next steps will indicate that the new license is attached in the database for review and the 3 rd party requestor will print 3 copies of the license, facilitate signature of the 3 rd party and send all 3 signed copies back to Branding. When copies are received, Branding VP signs all 3 copies, and Branding Assistant retains a copy for files, sends one back to the appropriate Law Dept and sends one back to the 3 rd party requestor. The request is closed out, and the 3 rd party requestor will get another automated message indicating that they are free to give the logo to the 3 rd party. Exceptions International employees can still submit paper based requests as they do not have access to the database. These forms can be found on Brand Central along with the link to the database. Exceptions to lead time and rush requests will be handled on a case by case basis. 2
3 Online Trademark Request Form US Employee Protecting our Brand and its related marks (our logos and our Rock symbol) is the responsibility of every employee. Therefore, you must follow established protocols when making requests for third-party usage of our logo, cobranding, or linking to or from a third-party website. All Requests will be submitted using our online trademark Request Database Non US Employee Protecting our Brand and its related marks (our logos and our Rock symbol) is the responsibility of every employee. Please select the applicable form from the list on Brand Central and follow the appropriate steps (guidelines listed below) to complete and submit your request. 4 Navigating Trademark Request System Brand Central s Homepage leads users to the Trademark Request System After entering Brand Central, users will select Trademark request form from the dropdown Apply Our Brand Standards.. 4
5 Accessing the Database The next page will bring you to the Trademark Request Form instructions. For US employees you will select submit trademark request.. 5

7 Selecting Your Item You will select the correct form you wish to fill out. 7
8 Trademark Request Online Form For the purpose of this demonstration, I selected Trademark Request. 8
9 Form Process Filling out the form The form will then be filled out online by the 3 rd party requestor (must be a Prudential employee) and submitted to their area VP for approval. Area VP will get an automated message from the database from trademark request indicating that they have an action to complete by clicking the link attached in the . Once they approve, they will select next action at the top of the online form and this will send this to Corporate Branding for approval. Once we (Corporate Branding) approve, we send this form to the appropriate Law dept and a trademark License is drafted. When the license is completed, the 3 rd party requestor will get another automated message with further instructions indicating what they need to do with the attached license.
