Introducing Calderdale s online SDQ service

1 This short introduction explains what the service is for and takes you through the process of doing SDQs encouraging learning by using the service. What the service is for SDQs are brief behavioural screening questionnaire used for the age range of 2 17 years, by a wide range of professionals to identify any areas of concerns in relation to children s emotional and behavioural wellbeing. The online service (youcansay) facilitates the assignment, completion, tracking and reporting of SDQs for children, young people, families and professionals. The process The process involves: signing in, adding a client (pupil), assigning people to do SDQs for the client and reviewing the results. You will need internet access. It is best to use a modern browser such as Google Chrome of Firefox. Allow an hour to learn how to use the online system. You can either log in to the Have a Go account or use your own account. 2 Set by step 1. Sign in 1. Enter in your browser 2. Sign in with your username and password or with ta_admin and ta_pass to just Have a Go! 3. You will see several items have been added to the menu bar when you are logged i1n 2. How to change your temporary password (Please do not do this in Have a Go!) 1. Hover over the sign in/out menu 2. Click on user profile 3. Enter your new password and confirm it then submit 4. Click on CANCEL 3. How to create clients 1. Choose Create from the Client menu 2. To learn how this works you should create a test client with the initials XYZ 3. Fill in the form with client's Initials. Complete the other fields. Schools use UPN for Other Reference, and only enter a CASS Reference and select a Lead Professional if these details have been provided by a social worker. You can leave SDQ due blank it will be filled in by the system for three months after the last SDQ was completed. 4. Save, and the client will be added to the list 2 of 6

3 4. How to assign a questionnaire for a client 1. Find and view your client (XYZ) 1. Choose Live from the Client menu 2. You can just look for the client or use the search facility. 3. Click on the V view button 2. In the survey section click on assign. 3. To learn how this works you should assign all three SDQs: Self assessment, Parent/carer, Teacher/professional, to yourself 4. Choose the appropriate SDQ 5. If you have chosen Client Self Assessment you only need to click on Save. For either of the other choices complete the form with the name of the person you are assigning to complete the SDQ ( not the client ), their address ( use your own to learn how it works), and their relationship (Parent, Carer, Teacher, Professional), and select the school, then click on Save 6. Notice that their details and IN input, I invite and d delete buttons have been added to the view. 5. How to invite and remind Parent/carer, Teacher/professional by (invite your self to learn how it works) 1. In the assign section click on the invite button for each Parent/carer or Teacher/professional you assigned to do the SDQ at step 4,3. An template will display. Personalise each as necessary and click the SEND button 2. Notice that there are now remind buttons. The last invitation date is shown when you hover over it. You can send any number of reminders but only the date of the last is shown. 3 of 6

For the other go to and enter the pin and token provided to do the SDQ. 5. Each time an SDQ is completed you will get an notification 6. How to enter and SDQ that has been completed on paper 1. Use the IN button for the person assigned to do the questionnaire 2. To learn how this works use the Self Assessment version that you assigned at step 4,3 7. How to review the results for a questionnaire 1. Find and view your client (see 4, 1 above). If you are still viewing this client just refresh the page. 2. In the assign section 1. click on the R2 button to get the answers and the summary scores 2. click on the R1 button to get just the answers to the questions this is useful for discussing with a parent or a pupil when you do not want to draw attention to summary scores 3. in the SDQ Radar Charts section on the RC button to be able to compare different SDQs. This is also useful to track progress. You have to click on the available SDQs to move them to the included SDQs box. Then click the GO TO REPORT button to see the cart for the included SDQs 4. You can also click on ACT to record actions you think appropriate based on the results. 4 of 6

5 8. What else? The service has more capability than covered here. For example o0ther users can be added, results can be downloaded for further analysis, templates can be edited, and results can be shared with colleagues and other agencies.
