3 Welcome Welcome and thank you for using InterVelocity for your spam and virus filtering solution. The following few pages are designed to minimize the amount of time you ll need to understand and use the major functions of this Service. This is not intended to be a comprehensive guide, so should you require additional information please feel free to contact us. InterVelocity support@intervelocity.com Phone: (828) Phone: InterVelocity uses SpamLab technology from a company called AppRiver to provide real time service and functionality. You may run into these terms in this manual and / or web site. Please note that these are all one in the same as the service provided by InterVelocity. Logon To access and manage your spam and virus blocking service, point a web browser to spamfilter.intervelocity.com and enter your assigned Login and Password. Your Login is your full address (you@yourdomian.com), and your password was sent to you in an when the account was created. This is not the same as your account password. If you have forgotten your Password, click the Click here to have your validation resent to you. And follow the on screen instructions. Click the Login button to access your account. Page 3 of 8

4 Home After logging-in you are immediately placed in the Home Tab for a quick review of news alerts. Page 4 of 8

5 Spam Click on the Spam Tab to view your quarantine ( identified by the system as spam). Message Searching Since the quarantine can often contains hundreds of messages, a convenient From search engine is available. Enter the address of a person you re looking for in this box and click the Filter button to see if any exist. Use the order by drop down list to sort your results by date, recipient, or sender. Click the Clear My Quarantine button to delete all messages in this que. Releasing Held Mail To release a message from quarantine, use one of the following methods: 1) Place a check mark next to the title of the message you want to release, and click the Resend Marked button. Note you can click the Select All option, but it s very rare that you would want to release all held messages. 2) Click on the title of the desired message and it will open so you can a more detailed view of the message. To release, click the Resend button as shown below. You can also click the Delete and View Next to remove the message. Page 5 of 8

6 Virus This section shows viruses captured by the filtering system. Messages can be resent or deleted from this screen, much in the same manner as spam messages. However, we do not recommend resending any message that has been flagged as a virus, unless you are confident otherwise. Release at your own risk. Tools This section is for a user to enable and disable filtering for their account. Please consult your administrator before making any change to your account of this nature. My Settings This section allows the user to specify if they get a Daily Report, and a few other options related to it. Check the options you want and click the Update button. Page 6 of 8

7 Daily Report If you have select to receive a Daily Report via the My Settings section, your account will receive this item every 24 hours, between 3 and 4 A.M. This will list all held items, and offers many options regarding your account. Probably the most used feature of this will be the Resend link located next to each under the Your Held Mail section. If you click this link, you will be taken to a web page where you can review and release the message to be sent to your inbox. To release a message, click the Release Now button, and the message will be sent. If you would like to request this address be added to the Allowed List, check the Request Sender option near the bottom of page before clicking the Release Now button. This will add your request to a listing for your Administrator to review and add as they see fit. Page 7 of 8
