INTRODUCTION 1 Introduc on 1.1 Legal Disclaimer All products (so ware, hardware or firmware) manufactured by Workswell s.r.o. are warranted against defec ve materials and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months, provided such products have been under normal storage and use in accordance with herein instruc ons. The warranty extends only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. It is not applicable to any product which has been subjected to misuse, neglect, accident or abnormal condi ons of opera on. In the case of a defect in a product covered by this warranty the product must not be further used in order to prevent addi onal damage. The purchaser shall promptly report any defect to Workswell s.r.o. or its authorized distributor or this warranty will not apply. Workswell s.r.o. will, at its op on, repair or replace any such defec ve product free of charge if, upon inspec on, it proves to be defec ve in material or workmanship and provided that it is returned to Workswell within the said twelve-month period. Nobody but Workswell s.r.o. is allowed to open or modify such product. Workswell s.r.o. has no other obliga on or liability for defects than those set forth above. Try to find an answer by searching the Community Forum and if there is not such answer please send an on. 3.3 Updates The primary aim of Workswell s.r.o. company is to supply their products in a way to meet the current needs of its users and at the same me to remove all the weaknesses that were found in their use as soon as possible. For this reason, Workswell s.r.o. regularly releases updates for all their products. 5

7 4. GENERAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 4 General system requirements The CorePlayer applica on is compa ble with the OS Windows 7 and newer. In order to acquire images from a GigE Vision camera, you need to first make sure that you have all the correct hardware components and proper configura on. 4.1 Minimal requirements Parameter Processor RAM memory HDD NIC Value Intel Core i3 (or similar) 2GB At least 200MB available space 1000 Mb/s, Jumbo frame 9kB 4.2 Recomended requirements Parameter Processor RAM memory HDD NIC Value Intel Core i5 (or similar) 4GB 1GB available space Gigabit Ethernet adapter 4.3 Special hardware requirements GigE Vision camera - The camera must be GigE Vision standard compliant. If you have a camera that has a Gigabit Ethernet port but is not GigE Vision compliant, you cannot acquire images using CorePlayer. You should find the GigE Vision logo in the camera s user manual or marke ng literature. Gigabit Ethernet port - While it is possible to acquire images with Ethernet and Fast Ethernet ports, which support 10 MB/s and 100 MB/s respec vely, this will only work at very slow frame rates and small resolu- ons. It is highly recommended that you use a Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Controller (NIC). 6

8 5. INSTALLING COREPLAYER 5 Installing CorePlayer The CorePlayer installers and updates are available at the web page h ps://workswell.eu/coreplayer/. We will inform our customers about new so ware releases whenever available. 5.1 So ware install To get your copy go to the page above and download the installer file. A er the download is finished proceed to the folder where your file was stored and run the installer. Follow the instruc ons of the CorePlayer setup program and at the end, if asked, reboot the computer. The setup will create all necessary folders and files without any special user interac on. 5.2 So ware update To get the update go to the same page as men oned above and download the installer. Once you have obtained the update installa on file, close the CorePlayer applica on and reinstall current version. The update process is the same as in the installa on. During the reinstalla on all the saved se ngs, cameras and capture data remains. 7

9 6. ACTIVATING COREPLAYER 6 Ac va ng CorePlayer When you run the program for the very first me, the Authen ca on window is the first thing to deal with. The Authen ca on window provides you with four licensing op ons. If you don t have a serial number and want to evaluate the so ware for a limited period of 15 days, choose Request trial, if you have valid, not yet ac vated serial number, click the Insert serial number op on or you can use Offline ac va on if you don t have the possibility to connect PC to the internet. If you bought CorePlayer together with the camera, you can ac vate so ware using camera serial number via Per-camera ac va on. Figure 6.1 Ac va on window 6.1 Trial ac va on When reques ng a trial version of CorePlayer, all you have to do is fill in your valid address. In a ma er of seconds, you will receive an with ac va on link leading to Workswell Ac va on Server, where you should fill in a brief to help us improve the so ware to be er suit the needs of our customers. A er you ll express consent with the Licensing terms and agree to the above terms, click Ac vate and you will be given a unique trial serial number, valid for 15 days. Copy the number. Then return to the program and click Insert serial number. Further steps are the same as if you had a full licensed copy of Workswell CorePlayer, and they are described in the next sec on. ACTIVATING COREPLAYER Figure 6.3 Obtaining trial license 6.2 Full ac va on If you have a full version of the program (or you have obtained trial serial number), start the ac va on process by clicking on Insert serial number bu on. On the next screen, enter your serial number provided by your sales partner or by Workswell and fill in your valid address. Click the Authen cate bu on. Figure 6.4 Inser ng serial number Next steps apply for full versions only The Authen ca on window is now indica ng that your serial number is not yet ac vated. By clicking Authen cate on the previous screen, you ve send an ac va on request to Workswell Ac va on Server and as a response, you will receive with ac va on link. Click it and fill in a brief info about yourself. A er you ll express consent with the Licensing terms and condi ons by checking the I agree to the above terms, click Ac vate and return to the program. Click Authen cate as seen on the image above. Click Run! and you are free to use Workswell CorePlayer. Figure 6.5 Successful ac va on If you were not able to perform the full ac va on described above or just simply you don t have the access to the internet connec on, write us an with the serial number of the license and computer ID, which could 9

A er we verify and ac vate license manually we will send you the license file which you can use for the Offline ac va on by clicking on Auten ficate and selec ng the provided license file in your download loca on. Figure 6.6 Offline ac va on window 6.3 Per-camera ac va on If you bought CorePlayer together with the camera, you can perform per-camera ac va on, the camera license can be obtained on h ps:// A er filling the camera serial number in the web page and downloading the license file, just simply click on the Per-camera ac va on and then Add license. 13 8 CorePlayer 8.1 General descrip on Workswell CorePlayer so ware is designed for detailed analysis of thermograms (thermo vision images) and radiometric videos produced by the Workswell WIC thermal camera or thermovision systems for Workswell WIRIS drones. The system is also compa ble with FLIR TAU2 a er connec on to our USB3 or GigE adapters. Workswell CorePlayer enables to edit the acquired data, export it to other formats (PNG, AVI etc.) and create self contained reports. All common func ons are available in the so ware for the analysis of radiometric data (determina on of temperature in the point, minimum and maximum in the area, temperature profile, zoom, change of temperature range, pallet, emissivity etc.), as well as the usual func ons like crea on of protocols, 3D models and highly detailed analysis of radiometric videos, including edi ng sequences and the op on to store individual images, etc. When connec ng a Workswell WIC thermal camera through USB3 or the Ethernet, it is possible to parameterize the camera, set the parameters for measurement and perform on-line measurement, including recording data in the form of individual images and radiometric video. Measuring reports can be produced from the measured images, using the simple guide. Following chapters describe the func onality of the CorePlayer so ware. 8.2 Applica on overview A er the successful installa on and start of the applica on the main window of the applica on opens, which you can see in Figure

The panels are dockable and could be dragged out of the main window of the applica on and used separately as the window. The layout of the main window is automa cally saved while closing the applica on and is recalled every me the applica on starts. 17 8.4.2 Thermo image Overview window - controls the visibility of the miniature in the thermal image Acquisi on Upper camera limit warning - shows warning if the measured temperature exceed camera temperature limit Limit shown framerate - limits the refresh rate of the applica on graphics, doesn t have any effect on the data. The connect window will open, where you are able to select the device you want to connect. The connec on itself could by performed by double click on the camera item in the found camera list, or by selec ng the camera and pressing the Connect bu on. If the connec on is performed correctly the camera acquisi on will start and the thermal stream will be visible in the central panel of the applica on as in Figure 8.6. Figure 8.5 Connect window 17

19 Figure 8.6 Connected camera overview 8.6 Thermal camera se ngs The thermal camera se ngs panel will appear a er the successful connec on of the camera in the le upper part of the main window of the applica on. in this panel you are able to control various aspects of the camera, which will be described below Play/Pause bu on - starts or pauses the camera live stream Start/Stop recording bu on - you can record thermal sequences (.seq/.wseq) by pressing this bu on Snapshot bu on - a er clicking the thermal image from live stream is captured Periodic save images bu on - starts saving thermal images from live stream with set period Range [ C] - select the temperature range of the camera (Low or High, for A615 a Middle range is available) Source - select the source of the image, either full or placed rectangle ROIs Framerate - control the acquisi on framerate of the camera Camera image correc on - perform the camera shu er event Shu er - for WIC cameras only, you can select between asynchronous or synchronous internal shu er and precision external shu er 18

20 Figure 8.7 Thermal camera menu 8.7 Image setup In this panel you can change the image parameters (pale e and interpola on) and the features, which are important for correct temperature measurement. Pale e - shows data in selected color scale, assigned temperatures can be seen on right-sided temperature scale Custom Pale e - Invokes window with ability to create and save your own custom pale e Interpola on - enable/disable image pixel interpola on Emissivity - Very important feature - you should set the value depend on measured material (range is 0-1; default is 0,95) Reflected temperature - Insert ambient temperature to correct reflec on of incident radia on Advanced se ngs - enables further parameters important for detailed temperature measurement Atmospheric temperature - temperature of the surrounding atmosphere Humidity - humidity of the ambient environment Distance - distance between the measured object and the camera 19

21 Ext. op cs transmission - external op cs transmission 8.8 Project panel The project panel is main panel for the work with the loaded images. The panel has func onality as described below. You are able to load mul ple files (sequences or images) into project Loaded files have markers of GPS loca on, visible image, sequence marker and opened file marker You can add images to report by pressing checkbox on desired image and click on bu on Add selected images to the Repor ng on right-down part of panel You can save and load back your projects with all images and report Figure 8.8 Project panel 8.9 Repor ng panel The repor ng panel was designed for the quick crea on of the pdf report from the measured images including visible image, map, thermal profile, ROI informa on and more. The func onality is described below. Import images loaded in project You can customize tle page, informa on of measurement pare or conclusion of your report Insert protocol name, date and me, user name, part, machine, tool material numbers, note, logo etc. You are able to customize visual of page with thermal image by adding visible image, GPS map or thermal 20

22 profile lines. Also you can add informa on about emissivity, humidity, camera, resolu on etc., or add custom notes. You can save report as PDF file. Also you can insert measuring ROI (line, rectangle, point,polyline,polygon) into image, zoom the image and adjust temperature range of color pale e. 26 Figure 8.13 ROI panel 8.12 Isotherm panel The isotherm panel is designed for visualizing the areas with the temperature of user defined range. This panel contains controls for placing, customizing and dele ng isotherms. The panel could be invoked by clicking on the isotherm mode bu on as described in The func onality is described below. You are able to chose between lower,upper,middle and lower & upper isotherm The minimal and maximal temperature could be modified by appropriate textboxes in the panel or by dragging the visualiza on of the isotherm in the pale e range color bar You are able to place up to 6 isotherms with different se ngs You are able to modify priority and opacity of the selected isotherm, the selec on is performed by clicking on the desired isotherm in the isotherm list 25

27 Figure 8.14 Isotherm panel 8.13 Delta func on panel This panel serves for customizing and se ng parameters of appropriate added delta func ons. The func onality overview is described below. You are able to set the reference temperature or ROIs as the items for the delta calcula on For the ROI there is ability to choose the min, max or avg value for calcula on The cross bu on deletes the appropriate delta func on Figure 8.15 Delta func on panel 26

28 8.14 3D graph The 3D panel is designed for displaying the thermal data in 3D space, with the variety of parameters which could be customized You can generate 3D graph from image, sequence or live stream You can set quality, zoom, rota on, posi on or value plane of generated graph You are able to save 3D graph to JPG or PNG file Figure D graph panel 8.15 Map panel For files which contains valid GPS loca on data, the map panel is the op on to visualize the capture posi on. The map panel contains the global map with marked loca on of the point and also for the sequences, the path and al tude profile is enabled. The user is also able to change zoom, move the map by mouse dragging and copying the coordinates. 27

29 Figure 8.17 Map panel 8.16 Plots The plots represents thermal data according to the placed ROIs, the visualiza on can be disabled by controlling the appropriate func ons in the ROI list. The graphs are Thermal profile - For line and polyline ROIs only; show temperatures of pixels on the line Histogram - For all ROIs except point, shows temperature frequency of pixels on placed ROIs Time graph - For live video and sequences only; show min/max/avg temperature according on me (rela- ve or absolute) and appropriate limits The graphs have some added func onality to improve the ability of working with them such as Crosshair - Shows temperature and pixel posi on (resp. me) at the cursor posi on Zoom and pan - Ability to zoom and pan the graph by mouse scroll and drag and drop Fit to screen - Fits the graph to the window Export - Saves the CSV file with the graph values Interpola on - Interpolate the values in the Histogram 28

31 8.19 Module se ngs The CorePlayer is able to set various parameters of the Workswell GiGe or USB3 module. The parameters and se ngs could be changed for the Workswell GiGe or USB3 module and they are described in the Module se ngs manual. 30
