3 TEACHER USER GUIDE.0 INITIAL SET UP STEP : CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO YOUR SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY WIRELESS NETWORK Connect your device to the Wi-Fi network provided by your IT Department. STEP : DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT VIVI APPLICATION BASED ON YOUR SPECIFIC DEVICE Macbook/iMac: Windows Tablet/Computer: iphone/ipad: Chrome Laptop/Tablet: Once installed, run the Vivi application and you will be presented with the following screen (see Ref A - Get Started). Ref A - Get Started Click on the Get Started button to commence (see Ref A - Get Started).

4 STEP : START USING VIVI After clicking Get Started, you ll be presented with the option to Log In or Sign Up (see Ref A - Account). If it s your first time using Vivi, you ll need to enter your details and select the Sign Up button. Sign Up details: Ref A - Account Full Name (Please use the user school suffix...@schoolname.vic.edu.au). Password Presenter Code (If signing up as a Teacher, read below for more information). If you are signing up as a teacher, select the I m a Teacher checkbox (see Ref B - Teacher Checkbox) where you will be prompted for a school specific teacher code; which is supplied by your IT Department. You will then be prompted for which room to wirelessly mirror to. If you already have a Vivi account, simply enter your and 5 Password and click 6 Log In. 5 6 Ref B - Teacher Checkbox

5 STEP : SELECT A ROOM Select a room (and the appropriate Vivi box) that you would like to connect to (see Ref A - Rooms). You must have your device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the learning space for wireless presentation. 6 .0 VIVI GLOSSARY Throughout this User Guide, the following terms will be used. They re explained below. ANNOTATE: A feature that allows a user to draw or write text with their finger or a cursor directly onto a captured screenshot. CAPTURE SCREENSHOT: To instantly take a visual copy of exactly what is being displayed on the main display at any time as a still image and save it to your device. MAIN DISPLAY: Smart board, projector or LCD screen MIRRORING: Mirroring (or, to mirror) is the ability to copy a live version of exactly what s being displayed on a specific device, to another device. Vivi allows a teacher or student to mirror their own content to the main display in a room. URL: A link to a website, image or video.0 USING VIVI S FEATURES The main menu screen will give you a few different options (see Ref A - Teacher Main Menu ). STOP: Stop mirroring your device to the main display. SHARE MY SCREEN: Share your device to the main display. SEND LINK TO STUDENTS: Send a URL to all students in the room. SHARE STUDENT SCREEN: Share a students screen to the main display 5. 7 . SHARE MY SCREEN To share your screen to the main display, select display will show Waiting for sharing to begin. Share My Screen (see Ref 5A - Teacher Main Menu). The option to play an instructional video that walks you through enabling Airplay will appear after clicking Share My Screen.. SEND A LINK TO STUDENTS Ref 5A - Teacher Main Menu From the main menu, tap Send Link to Students (see Ref 5A - Teacher Main Menu) and paste a copied link into the blank field and tap Send (see Ref 5B - Send a Link to Students). Alternatively, you can manually enter a URL using the keyboard and tapping the Send button. This is useful when referring to an online reference, such as an information website or image gallery. This allows you to send students directly to a website to complete an online activity, with the ability to control timing such as the end of a lesson once theory has been covered. 8 . SHARE STUDENT SCREEN From the main menu, tap the Share Student Screen button (see 6A - Teacher Main Menu). You will be presented with a list of students with connected devices in the room (see 6B - Share Student Screen). Select the student and their screen will be mirrored to the main display. To stop sharing a student s screen, select the Stop button on the Main Screen. Sharing a student s screen creates an opportunity for increased collaboration and engagement. Students can demonstrate their own work or present their findings in real time, from anywhere in the room. Ref 6A - Teacher Main Menu Ref 6B - Share Student Screen 8

9 . PLAY A VIDEO DIRECT From the main menu, select the Play a Video Direct button (see Ref 7A - Teacher Main Menu). Paste a copied Youtube URL into the field or enter a Youtube URL manually and select the - Play a Video Direct). Play button (see Ref 7B Video controls will appear on the Main Screen. You can pause a video at any time by tapping the Pause button (see 7C - Video Controls), and rewind/fast forward button by dragging the time marker to a specific place. Videos are a powerful information tool and with the ability to capture screenshots of still content, key takeaways can be saved by students by one click. 10 .5 CAPTURE AND ANNOTATE SCREENSHOT To capture a screenshot of the displayed content, select the Capture Screenshot button (see Ref 8A). You will then be able to annotate by selecting the annotate icon. To change colour, tap on the To erase any annotation, tap the colour button (see Ref 8B - Annotate Screenshot) to change colours. erase button. To save the screenshot to your device for later review, tap the save button. To exit a screenshot view, select the close icon (X) which is located at the top left or right corner of the screenshot window; depending on your device. Students can capture screenshots of the teacher s content and make their own notes on top of it. They can also capture screenshots of other students work when it is being mirrored on the main display. The Capture Screenshot feature allows a teacher to save different students work for later review. If the editing icons disappear when a screenshot is shown, simply tap anywhere on the screen for them to reappear. Ref 8A - Teacher Main Menu Ref 8B - Annotate Screenshot 0

11 .0 TROUBLESHOOTING If you experience any technical difficulties using Vivi, contact your IT Department.
