4 Viz Libero Release Notes Viz Libero is a maintenance release for Viz Libero 6.7. Please refer to the What s new in Viz Libero 6.7 document and the Viz Libero User and Administrator Guide for more information on the new features added with Viz Libero 6.7. Bugfixes RZT-4234: The system could become unstable and potentially freeze due to erroneous port configurations in Viz Engine config files (port 3000 was used both for tracking hub as well as shared memory communication). RZT-4232: In some cases, not all annotations got loaded after entering a clip. RZT-4237: Connection to the engine could initially fail in some cases after a reboot. RZT-4238: Reloading a scene or leaving prototype mode could fail to work properly on slow machines. RZT-4226: Heatmap of type continuous 2D was flipped. RZT-4123: Image in Color Model module could flicker in some configurations. RZT-4240: VLTMainControl Telestrator plugin now gets correctly initialized when dragging it into a loaded scene. Deprecated: Graphics without Live Viz Engine Integration Graphics without Live Viz Engine Integration are now deprecated and will be removed in a future release of Viz Libero. Users are encouraged to switch to Live Viz Engine Integration. Known restrictions in Viz Libero Viz Libero Telestrator PAL and NTSC resolutions are not supported in the new Viz Libero Telestrator Live Viz Engine Integration Only one instance of a magnifier is possible at a time. Multiple consecutive magnifiers in one clip are possible though. Custom overlays and player labels are automatically imported from previous versions. In some cases, the set fonts cannot be imported correctly though. In these cases, the user needs to set the desired fonts again in the custom overlay and player label editors (Telestrator Configuration Custom Player Labels and Telestrator Configuration Overlay Defaults Custom Overlay Templates) Magnifier might have wrong aspect ratio in SD formats. Very long freehand lines might affect rendering performance. In Laptop configurations with a Hybrid Graphic setup (Integrated Intel graphics card and Nvidia card), the Viz Engine may take a very long time to start, leading to a failed connection from Viz Libero. Disable Hybrid Graphics and only use the Nvidia card to solve the problem. Project compatibility With Viz Libero it is possible to open and play back projects that were created using Libero Highlight 5.0 and later. However, editing old projects might lead to instabilities in rare cases. Editing compatibility is only guaranteed backwards to Viz Libero 5.5.x. Projects that are created using Viz Libero 6.0 and later cannot be opened using Libero Highlight (any version) and Viz Libero 5.x or earlier. When creating playlists with Live Viz Engine Integration, the scene may be switched to get a different design. Playlists created with Live Viz Engine Integration cannot be properly displayed without Live Viz Engine Integration though. 4

5 Installation Instructions Step 1: Install Viz Libero The setup file VizLibero-x exe installs all required components (Viz Libero, Viz Libero Telestrator, Viz Engine, Viz Libero Plugins and Viz Graphic Hub). Note that with Viz Libero 6.2 a new installation folder structure has been introduced. Also, note that hardware driver installation is not included. See Step 2: Driver installation or update for further details. Remote Viz Graphic Hub By default, Viz Graphic Hub is installed on the local machine. In case you want to run Viz Graphic Hub from a remote server, you may deselect the whole package. Please refer to the section Running Viz Graphic Hub on a remote server for further details. Viz Libero Telestrator: Two-Box setup When running the Viz Libero Telestrator in a two-box setup, use the same Viz Libero installer to install all components on both machines. Please refer to the Viz Libero Administrator Guide for further details. 6 How to update Bluefish video driver to version Unzip the Bluefish_Driver_ zip file into C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish 2. Run InstallReleaseDriver64bitWin7Win8.bat from C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish\Bluefish \Driver 3. Reboot system How to update Bluefish firmware To see what kind of video card you have installed, look for the Video Card Details in Viz Libero Administrator. Run the firmware installer from BluefishDriver_ zip according to your hardware: Video Card Super Nova Epoch Horizon Neutron Firmware installer Firmware\SuperNova\BlueFirmwareUpdate_SupernovaAndSPlus_2i2o_123.exe Firmware\Epoch_Create\BlueFirmwareUpdate_Epoch_Film_537.exe Firmware\Neutron\BlueFirmwareUpdate_Neutron_1i1o_V067.exe After installation of the according firmware, shut down the computer, wait for 60 seconds, then turn it on again. How to install and update Matrox drivers Run DSX.utils.exe and follow the instructions. How to update the graphics card driver Run the appropriate installer for your graphics card: Graphics Card Quadro, Windows 7 Quadro, Windows 10 Mobile GeForce, Window 7 Mobile GeForce, Window 10 Driver installer quadro-grid-desktop-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe quadro-grid-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe Step 3: Verify Viz Libero installation After software and driver installation is complete, verify that all components are properly installed and the system is working as expected: a. Make sure you have a valid Viz Libero and Viz Engine OEM dongle inserted. b. Start Viz Libero Administrator and perform all tests to show three green labels. To use Live Viz Engine Integration, especially verify that the license check for both Viz Libero and Viz Engine succeed: 6

7 Step 4: Install leagues (optional) Vizrt provides a set of leagues in the VizLibero_6.2_Leagues.zip package. To install a league, open the file VizLiberoLeagues.zip, then double-click on the league you wish to install on the system. This opens the league, team and player editor and imports the selected league. You might get a security warning when opening the file. If this is the case, simply select Open from the dialog: Note: There is also an installer Install ALL_LEAGUES.vbs which installs all provided leagues. Live Viz Engine Integration notes Adapt Viz Engine configuration Viz Engine configurations are part of the Viz Libero setup. The Viz Engine is automatically started with the correct configuration when the user opens a project. Special configuration is therefore generally neither required nor recommended. In case you still need to modify the configuration, please start Viz Config using Start Viz Config from the Viz Libero Administrator s menu. Live Viz Engine Integration requires several settings to be configured in a certain way to work correctly. Please refer to the Viz Libero Administrator Guide for details. 7

8 Viz Graphic Hub configuration For each design template, the Live Viz Engine Integration requires two Viz Artist scenes - one for the main and one for the front layer. A default template is provided with Viz Libero. Custom design templates may be created using Viz Artist (see User Guide for detailed instructions). The default template is automatically imported and updated by Viz Libero. Custom scenes must be imported into Viz Graphic Hub once. Note that Viz Graphic Hub must always be running while working on Viz Libero and Live Viz Engine Integration. The Viz Graphic Hub can either be run on the local machine or on a remote server. Running Viz Graphic Hub on the local machine The installer will by default install and configure the Viz Graphics Hub with the recommended settings Viz GH Localhost, Automatically start on boot and Windows shutdown when server is up and running (terminate). Other options can be selected either in the installer or after the installation. Running Viz Graphic Hub on a remote server The configuration files deployed with Viz Libero assume that Viz Graphic Hub is running on the local machine with the Viz GH Localhost configuration. In case you use another configuration or your Viz Graphic Hub is running on another machine, use the Option Setup Graphic Hub from Viz Libero Administrator. This will change the settings in all deployed configuration files. Verify Live Viz Engine Integration Connection Create a Clip and add some graphics which should appear in the new design. The information box in the upper left corner will show you if you re connected to Viz Engine: Default font The Default Scene uses the Noto font (NotoSans-Bold). You can choose to use your preferred font instead by using the Default Font setting in the Telestrator Configuration: To use the Noto font with non-latin characters, download and install the respective version. 8
