2 Viz Multi Platform Suite Personalize the live experience Viz Multi Platform Suite enables content distribution to multiple devices. A single production pipeline sends the content to the devices in their individual format. The solution integrates seamlessly with existing Vizrt content creation and control tools. Viz Artist 3 remains the designers choice for graphic scenes creations, while Viz Trio and Viz Content Pilot combine with the Viz Multi Platform Suite to update thousands of clients with video and graphical content. Viz Multi Platform Suite integrates with the Viz Ardome Media Asset Management solution, enabling content publishing to the web or to mobile devices directly from the video search and edit interface.

3 Personalized Content Viz Multi Platform Suite moves the composition of video and graphics from the control room to the end-user device. All the Viz Multi Platform Suite Clients use Viz Engine technology to render and composite video, sound, graphics and text locally. This makes it possible to deliver specific and personalized 3D real-time graphics and video content that perfectly matches the client platform specifications. The user benefits from high video quality, along with the highest quality graphics and text for better readability. Broadcasters and sponsors can easily adjust personalized content to the user s specific profile. More viewers, same workflow The Viz Multi Platform Suite fully supports the Vizrt core products, like Viz Content Pilot or Viz Ticker3D. This makes it possible to seamlessly integrate the solution with all major newsroom systems. The workflow for a journalist remains the same, regardless of which and how many new formats a story is published in. Dual Components Viz Multi Platform Suite consists of two major components: Viz Multi Platform Suite Server The server defines the best format for each client and generates the graphic and video content. It performs a wide range of optimization to ensure resource efficiency for the client before distributing the content. Viz Multi Platform Suite Client The client runs on the end user s device and communicates with the Server. The small and lightweight client ensures portability and resource efficiency and can easily be ported to various platforms and operating systems. This allows broadcasters to quickly adapt content to the latest devices.

4 A 3D Engine on Every Device Vizrt s 3D real-time renderer is based on OpenGL technology. OpenGL is supported by a wide range of platforms, including most computers as well as an increasing number of mobile phones. The Viz Multi Platform Suite Client solution hosts a lightweight version of the Viz Engine. Graphics scenes created in Viz Artist 3 can therefore be rendered on any platform that supports OpenGL. Many phone models that do not support OpenGL can use the Viz Multi Platform Suite Lite client. This Java-based client emulates the graphics capabilities of the full 3D client. The Lite client uses the same server as the other clients, requesting pre-rendered images from the server for the complex 3D scenes. Multi device capacity levels To deliver personalised and epitomized content on each platform, Vizrt uses the MPEG-21 device-capability model between the client and server applications. This model describes the device specifications to the export process. The specifications include screen size, graphics hardware features, CPU speed, available memory, supported video codec and more. Flexible Usage Models The Viz Multi Platform Suite offers three different usage models. The first model pushes video and graphics to the end user device. The operator can, for example, play Viz Trio graphics during a live sport event. The Viz Multi Platform Suite Server is then notified and sends relevant commands to the clients to play out the same graphic. In the pull model, the end user searches for content himself and typically browses a database from which he or she can play out videos or graphics. Mixing the push and the pull model allows the creation of interactive applications. During a live game, a viewer can for example request a player profile while the match continues. It is also possible to carry out interactive tasks such as voting and shopping during a live program. Bandwidth efficiency The Viz Multi Platform Suite Client downloads all recurrent scene elements, such as images and textures, on a once only basis. When the user views content, only command strings and/or optimized video streams are exchanged between the server and the clients. This efficiency, coupled with more advanced optimizations on the server side, allows the best end-user experience and a high scalability.
