4 Viz Libero Release Notes Viz Libero is a maintenance release. Please refer to the What s new in Viz Libero 5.7 document and the Viz Libero User and Administrator Guide for additional information on the new features added with Viz Libero 5.7. New features Bugfixes Adaptations to the rink definition for NHL and IIHF hockey according to new rules for 2014/15 season [LIB-6169]. The 2014/15 rink definitions are used by default for new projects. The user can select a different definition using the new Rink Setup parameter in the according drop down list inside the New Project dialog, the project configuration, or in the camera module. The following bugs have been fixed compared to Viz Libero 5.7.3: General Editor Fixed issue resulting in Trying to access a non-existing property when going directly into Telestrator after a clean installation [LIB-6166] Chroma keying not working on Compute Capability 1.x graphics cards, i.e. Quadro FX or similar [LIB- 6193] Fixed issue with setting video signal sync delays [LIB-5963] Fixed issue that prevented user from adding multiple annotations into the same frame without changing the current frame [LIB-5876] Shot Speed annotation was not working correctly [LIB-5905] Double click on IN/OUT column of Playlist table items does not switch to Properties tab anymore but changes current frame to according value. 5 Known limitations EVS integration with Multicam 12.x Viz Libero supports integration only with Multicam version (or newer). Older Multicam 12.x versions have a bug related to HANC timecode insertion and do not work with Viz Libero. This does not affect Multicam 11.x and older. 5

You will be provided with credentials to access to download area. Upgrading from Viz Libero 5.7.x See below for upgrading from an earlier version of Viz Libero. Install new software (required) 1. Run VizLibero x msi file (B) to install Viz Libero in C:\LV\Highlight 2. Run VizLibero.ApplicationData msi file (C) to update the Viz Libero Application Data in D:\LV_DATA. Test installation 1. Make sure you have a valid dongle 2. Start Viz Libero Administrator and perform all tests to show three green labels. 3. Start Viz Libero using the icon on the Desktop Upgrading from Viz Libero 5.6.x or earlier See above for upgrading from Viz Libero 5.7.x. Uninstall deprecated tools if available (optional) 1. Open Control Panel Programs and Features a. Uninstall Viz Libero Tools b. Uninstall Viz Libero Core Update Bluefish video driver to (required) 1. Unzip the Bluefish_Driver_ zip file (A) into C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish 2. Run xp_vista_win7_64_driver_install.bat from C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish\Bluefish \Driver 3. Reboot system Update Bluefish firmware (required) This step depends on you actual hardware. 1. Run BlueInfo.exe from C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish\Bluefish \Bin. This opens a dialog window: 2. In the top left of the window, your Bluefish video card type is shown: 6

7 If it shows a Super Nova card: Run BlueFirmwareUpdate_SupernovaAndSPlus_2i2o_096.exe from C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish\Bluefish \ Firmware\SuperNova If it shows an Epoch Horizon card: Run BlueFirmwareUpdate_Epoch_Film_529.exe from C:\LiberoInstall\Drivers\Bluefish\Bluefish Firmware\Epoch_Create 3. Shutdown the Viz Libero system, wait one minute, turn on again. 4. Check firmware by executing same firmware update again: is already installed must be reported. Install new software (required) 1. Run VizLibero x msi file (B) to install Viz Libero in C:\LV\Highlight 2. Run VizLibero.ApplicationData msi file (C) to update the Viz Libero Application Data in D:\LV_DATA. Test installation 1. Make sure you have a valid dongle 2. Start Viz Libero Administrator and perform all tests to show three green labels. 3. Start Viz Libero using the icon on the Desktop Driver requirements Viz Libero 5.7.x requires the Bluefish driver Installation instructions can be found in this document. Since Viz Libero 5.5.2, we recommend to update the Nvidia graphics driver to the following versions. The type of graphics card can be found by 1. Right click on Desktop. Select NVidia Control Panel 2. In the following dialog, select System information on the bottom left. 3. In the following dialog, look at Graphics card information, left column. The current driver is shown in the right column unter Driver version. Nvidia graphics card type Quadro cards GeForce cards Recommended driver version According driver updates are available from the same download as the installation files. Driver installation will fail when applied to the wrong card type. Project compatibility With Viz Libero it is possible to open and play back projects that were created using Libero Highlight 5.0 and later. However, editing such projects might lead to corrupt clips. Editing compatibility is only guaranteed backwards to Viz Libero 5.5.x. Projects that are created using Viz Libero and later can t be opened using Libero Highlight (any version). 7

8 Laptop installations / Systems without Bluefish video hardware In order to run Viz Libero, you have to place the two DLL files in the LaptopBluefishDLLs.zip into the C:\LV\Highlight folder. 8
