2 Figure 1: Analyzer debugging a PACP_SET command using Event window and Traffic Overview The Falcon G300/G400 series with Trace Validation provides complete protocol debug and analysis of UFS and UniPro devices. The G300 series supports MIPI M-PHY v3.1 GEAR3, UniPro v1.61, and UFS2.0/2.1, and is GEAR4 ready The G400 series will support MIPI M-PHY v4.1 GEAR4, UniPro v1.8 and UFS3.0 (future release). Both series are available as an Analyzer or an Exerciser/Analyzer. Trace Validation provides complex state-machine analysis of protocol sequences and packet characteristics in captured traces. Compliance/Conformance Test Suite (CTS) performs verification of UFS and UniPro. Includes a new Event view window which displays a comprehensive overview of all events on the bus. Other viewer windows include traffic overview, protocol listing, protocol decode, and payload. Test Executive capability provides margin, corner case and automated stress testing. Custom test case Builders allow for creation of unique custom tests.

3 Key Features and Benefits MIPI MPHY GEAR4 upgradability preserves your investment when GEAR4 is rolled out. Trace Validation uses state machine logic to analyze captured traces algorithmically without user intervention. It analyzes bi-directional UniPro and UFS traffic, performing protocol sequence and timing analysis and packet header and payload inspection. Compliance/Conformance Verification of UFS 2.x and UniPro v1.61 with Conformance Test Suites (CTS). Executes a range of CTS test cases, analyzing results using the intelligent Trace Validation engine and generating summary reports. The G400 series will support UFS 3.0 and MIPI UniPro v1.8 (future release). Event view displays events on the bus in a unique time-aligned display, and includes fillers, Prepare, SYNC, Hibern8, sleep, stall and other M-PHY level packets. Event view presents a complete picture of all events and allows drill-down to the lowest level bytes. Stimulus with full UniPro stack in HW allows creation of specific traffic on the link, offers extensive error injection and is capable of full protocol emulation. Test Executive stress testing executes hundreds of thousands of tests automatically. Stop after any number of loops or No Result Test Cases. All failures and warnings are tagged, allowing the user to find, view and analyze the full test sequence in the Packet and Event views. Design custom test cases to introduce errors for corner case, margin, or stress testing. Trace Validation Trace Validation identifies transactions on the link by analyzing millions of packets in a trace capture, then evaluates the complete protocol sequences and individual packets for conformance to the specification. With Trace Validation, complex transactions such as power mode changes, Link Startup Sequence and NAC/Replay events can be automatically analyzed and easily debugged. Trace Validation finds the problems an engineer can t. Trace Validation results are flagged as follows: Figure 2: Trace Validation state machine model Failure and Warning status flags A Failure is a transaction or packet does not meet a defined primary rule. This rule may be defined by the JEDEC JESD224 CTS, UniPro v1.1 CTS or by the user. A Warning is a transaction or packet does not meet a defined secondary rule. This rule may be defined by the JEDEC JESD220x spec, UniPro v1.61 spec or by the user. Pass and Info and Debug status flags Any transaction or packet that conforms the rule set is marked as Pass Any packets not inspected due to run conditions are highlighted and explained with the Info flag Information on state machine execution of an inspection rule is provided with Debug messages

4 Compliance/Conformance Verification In CTS mode Falcon G300/G400 initiates conformance test cases, then uses the Trace Validation engine to verify that the resulting protocol sequences and packets conform to the CTS. Extensive reporting and analysis tools include reports by test parameters status, individual tests, or test rules, and within tests by packet characteristics such as packet number, byte, speed, link, etc. Summary and full reports and pass/fail reports are also provided. Figure 3: CTS Configuration and pass/fail analysis using Trace Validation Results Event view Event view is a dockable window that complements the Packet List window, showing all events on the bus in both directions in one single snapshot. Zooming in on any event or series of events will show the timealigned packet data and expanded packet information in detail.
