Carried forward. Adoption of Agenda-- The Chair referenced document GPP-A for the TSG agenda. After some modifications the document was adopted by common consent.. Meeting Summaries Review and Approval Document GPP-A was presented by the Chair and approved as modified by the TSG (rev. 1). Working Group reports will be distributed, reviewed and approved by the respective groups before the next TSG-A meeting.. Correspondence and liaisons Input The following correspondences were received and discussed at the meeting: GPP-A liaison report from TSG-S (TSG-S status report presented at the steering committee) for information.

This document provides guidelines on the work item and feature approval process across TSGs. - for information. GPP-A correspondence from TSG-P on Packet Inactivity Timer - remanded to WGC for consideration. Output The following correspondence was approved and sent by TSG-A: Document GPP-A is a correspondence to TSG-C requesting the verification of the need of air interface support for Location Update Protocol Requirements for 1xEV-DO IOS approved. Old Business a. Tandem Free Operation Phase of the TFO specification is proceeding on schedule. Contributions are coming in. There may be some changes to some features to advance completion of the specification. The features are:: 1) echo cancellation and ) the version number in the TFO frame (may be incompatible CDMA/GSM). The TFO task group chair requested carrier input and participation to help resolve these issues. b. Work plan update Document GPP-A r1 lists the proposed content for the next cdma000 Radio Access Network Interoperability Specification (IOS V., a.k.a. GPP TS A.S0001-B). Document GPP-A r1 lists work items and provide a time line for the 001 workplan. This document provides TSG-A team members with a high level view of all expected activities for 001. It also includes TR. related activities.. New business a. QOS in IOS Contribution GPP- A from Samsung provides a recommendation for supporting QoS in the IOS, based on results of the QoS JEM held in Kansas City January -, 001. This document was remanded to WGC. b. UIM support in IOS Contribution GPP- A from KDDI proposes the support for UIM to be included in IOS V.. This stage text proposes the following: 1)UIM support in the IOS as defined in IS-A (the

5 GPP Access Network Interfaces Technical Specification Group March 1, 001 GPP-A00-001r-00 Status Request/Response messages) and ) no changes to UIM it is to be supported in IS-000 (the current air interface). This document was remanded to WGA.

Documentation Ad-Hoc GPP-A00-001r-00 Janice Wunch of Lucent Technologies was appointed chair of the newly formed documentation ad-hoc. The primary responsibility of this ad-hoc will include managing the reorganization of the next cdma000 Radio Access Network Interoperability Specification (IOS V.). Some concerns about the process, format and effort required for document reorganization were acknowledged. It was agreed, at this point, that the V&V process will continue to take place in the technical working groups. d. Inactivity timer Contribution GPP- A from Motorola was an attachment to A Liaison letter from TGS-P. This contribution proposes supporting packet data inactivity timer based on realm or the Internet domain. This document was remanded to WGC.. Working Group reports Working Group reports for this meeting will be approved before or at the next TSG-A meeting. Working Group A: Bill Semper (Samsung), WGA chairman reported: Increased activity companies bringing more contributions. IP transport in the RAN There were a number of contributions and an extended discussion The chair is developing a plan to complete the work by May Progress was made toward completing an IP transport requirements document. An IP transport conference call was scheduled to progress the work. Some progress was made on V. core features. Two days were requested for the next meeting, including time for WGA. Working Group B: Naoto Itoh (KDDI), WGB chair reported on the progress of the Abis Technical Specification. WGB is meeting jointly with TR.. to process the technical and editorial ballot comments received from TR.. Those comments will be included in the next point release of the GPP Technical Specification. A deadline of February was set for V&V comments. The V&Ved document is expected to released and submitted to the Steering Committee after the March meeting. A conference call will be scheduled before the next meeting to review V&V comments. One half day was requested for the next meeting (Tuesday afternoon).

7 GPP Access Network Interfaces Technical Specification Group March 1, 001 Working Group C: GPP-A00-001r-00 Thomas Towle (Lucent), WGC chairman reported on the progress of work in WGC (still meeting at the time of the closing plenary) Most of the work focused on 1xEV/DO and the IP RAN architecture. On 1xEV/DO, Tom indicated that agreement on base reference model was being reached and that WGC was verifying the model against various scenarios. Progress was made with developing some scenarios during the meeting. Interim conference calls were scheduled to progress the work. Jim Gately of Qwest Communications International was appointed chair of the All IP ad-hoc in WGC. The IP RAN re-architecture study has started and a straw-man document with list of open issues is now available. Two working days were requested for WGC and the All IP ad-hoc for the next meeting.. Review assignments Conference calls to be scheduled as followed: 1. WGA /.. IP transport in cdma000 RAN / IOS V.1 ballot resolution.. WGB Abis V&V. WGC.1 1xEV-DO. Next meeting schedule Document GPP-A rev 1 is the meeting notice for the, USA meeting scheduled for March 1-1, 001. It was accepted as modified. 1. Open discussions There was a brief discussion on the 00 meeting schedule. The following consensus was reached: 1) a minimum of two super meetings; ) at lease two separate co-located meetings with TSG-C and TSG-P outside of the super meetings and ) If possible, one co-located meeting with TSG-N outside of the super meetings. 1. Adjournment The closing plenary meeting was adjourned at :0 pm on Thursday February 1, 001.
