3 Step 2 - Find and Read the Manuals Obtain a copy of Powerware Guide for IBM Applications and User s Guide from URLs noted: Located in UPS carton select Operating Manuals Powerware select Operating Manuals Powerware Install - iseries Dec, 2000 Page 3

4 Step 3 - Determine Placement of UPS equipment Place the UPS near the equipment to be protected The UPS should be well ventilated The equipment should not be further than 1.8m (6 ) from the UPS for equipment jumper cord connection to the UPS output receptacles Tower configuration Rack-mount* configuration iseries Model 270 pseries Model 270 *Mounting rails for four post rack installation (PN ) can be ordered from your local Invensys or IBM representative for 9125 Mounting 9125Install - iseries Dec, 2000 Page 4

5 Step 4 - Mount UPS The UPS can be tower-mounted, rack-mounted (EIA 19 ), or laid flat If you are installing the UPS in a rack*, or side-by-side in a tower configuration, go to Powerware Guide for IBM Applications.
