4 Step 3 - Determine Placement of UPS equipment Place the UPS near the equipment to be protected The UPS should be well ventilated The equipment should not be further than 1.8m (6 ) from the UPS for equipment jumper cord connection to the UPS output receptacles Tower configuration Rack-mount configuration iseries Model 830 pseries Multiple Model B80s PrestInstall - eserver rev Apr 01 Page 4

5 Step 4 - Mount UPS The UPS can be tower-mounted (EP5 and EP8) or rack-mounted (U33) If you are installing the U33 UPS in a rack, or side-by-side in a tower configuration, go to appropriate Powerware User s Guide. 8 Step 5 - Battery Pack Remove Battery Packs from cartons (Carton marked ) Set battery pack next to UPS Connect battery cables to UPS Go to appropriate Powerware User s Guide Powerware User s Guide for more information PrestInstall - eserver rev Apr 01 Page 8
