3 Condor Analysis Applet Setup Introduction This document describes how to set up and use the Condor Analysis applet on your Rock digitizer. This applet is executed through the web interface and will allow the use of user-configured Condor Analysis on sets of data recorded on the unit. Guidelines and Notes The Condor Analysis applet is intended to allow the use of user-configured analysis types on recorded data files from a Rock unit. These configuration parameters can be saved on a local PC or the Rock unit itself as will be shown in further detail below. The Condor Analysis applet requires a license. Contact Kinemetrics to purchase a license file in order to use the software. The Condor Analysis applet requires Rockhound version 3.9 or later to be installed on the digitizer. 3

4 Condor Analysis Installation on the Rock Installing the Condor Analysis Applet: 1. Using the Rock s web interface, go to the Administrative details page. Once there, click on the Send Firmware Update button, select Application on the next window and navigate to the Condor Analysis update jar file you received from Kinemetrics. Press OK to accept. To send the file, you will have to enter the root username and password of your Rock digitizer when prompted. 2. Once the file is finished transferring, click on Validate. This will restart the system and install the update you have sent to the unit. Installing the Condor Analysis Applet License: 1. Once you ve received a license file for the Condor Analysis applet, you can send the registration file to the unit via the Administrative Details page of the web interface. Just click the Send Registration File Button, as shown here: 4

5 2. Then, navigate to the location of the license file you received, select it and click OPEN. To send the file, you will have to enter the root username and password of your Rock digitizer when prompted. Once the file transfer has completed, click Restart FW on the Administrative Details page to apply new registration information. Rockhound will restart again at this point. 5

6 Viewing Condor Analysis Once the Condor analysis applet is installed and licensed, you should now be able to run the analysis on recorded files on the unit. Follow the steps below. 1. To analyze a file or set of files, go to the Interactive File Viewer page on the Rock s web interface. 2. You should now see an Analyze button at the bottom of the file viewer window, which you can now click after selecting a file or set of files, as shown here: 6

7 3. Upon clicking Analyze, the proper files will be downloaded and the applet will start. On the main screen of the applet, you can now immediately view information like the recorder header, acceleration/velocity spectra display, event summary, etc. as shown below: 7

8 Configuring and Saving Condor Analysis Parameters 1. To configure analysis parameters in the applet, on the main screen of the applet select the button in the toolbar labeled Setup Wizard. On the Setup Wizard screen, you can now select the OBE/KTA Frequencies and Limits button to go to the OBE Frequency Editor window as shown here: 2. You must select a criteria from the criteria drop down menu, enable the Contributes to Alarm checkbox, then go on to modifying the appropriate tables. In this example we have selected the CAV and OBE PSA criteria. 8

9 3. You can modify values like spectra damping and CAV bracket levels for the different channels. In our example, we ll need to modify PSA tables by clicking on the PSA table button at the bottom left of the window: When done modifying PSA tables you may select Done and save your changes. 4. When you are finished modifying any tables or parameters in the Frequency Editor, select the Save Current Preferences as Defaults button on the Setup Wizard window, shown here: NOTE: Saving current preferences as defaults only saves all of your changes and parameters locally on the user s pc in the directory C:\Condor\Analysis 9

10 and they may be overwritten the next time the applet is executed, as the applet will use any settings/preferences files located on the unit itself. If you would like to use the saved settings whenever the applet starts, you will need to transfer all of the files (except the error.log) into the above mentioned directory to the following directory on the unit: /data/condor You can use a program such as WinSCP to transfer these files easily. Creating and Printing Analysis Reports On the main Condor Analysis screen, you can select from a few different options in the Output Select dropdown list shown here: You can select how you would like reports and graphs to be printed or if you would like them to be stored in PDF form only. If you would like to print just what is currently being viewed in the main Condor Analysis window, click on the Print button on the toolbar. After making any changes, such as changing printing preferences, remember to save current preferences and upload the modified configuration files to /data/condor. If you would like the applet to print all of the graphs and reports associated with this file, click on the Print All button on the toolbar of the main window. All analysis result files like headers, FFT information, and PDF files are placed in a date/time based folder (such as _212854) along with the EVT file itself and a copy of the current configuration in the PC s directory C:\Condor\Events. 1
