Problem Description In the previous article, a recommendation was provided in the Additional Information section and this article implements the same. Note: This article applies to the scenario where-in the portal hit count solution is implemented as explained in the previous article and the log off action redirects to the login page. Solution Approach The portal hit count is to be decreased only in the case of confirmed log off action. To capture this, we have to create a custom log out component which would capture the log off action and decrement the portal hit count. The solution approach is as follows: 1 Custom Log off Component o o Decrement the portal hit count and then Release portal sessions so that log off is completed successfully Note: The current scenario is executed using SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 SP 15 version. Prerequisites o o Implementation of the application as described in the previous article. Experience with the masthead par modification. Solution Custom Log off Component Since we are implementing a custom log off component, we have to ensure that we release all the portal sessions at the end of log off. First, decrement the portal count and then release the sessions. The steps to implement this solution as are as follows: 1. Get the masthead par file of the portal from the System Administration. 2. Import the file using NWDS 3. Create an AbstractPortalComponent in the src.core folder. a. Component Name: CustomLogout b. Package: com.companyname.portalcount AbstractPortalComponent 4. The complete code of the AbstrctPortalComponent is as follows: package com.companyname.portalcount; import java.io.fileinputstream; import java.io.fileoutputstream; import java.util.properties; 2008 SAP AG 3
import com.sap.portal.iviewserver.wsrpservice.consumer.wsrpconsuming.sessionmanagement.iwsrp SessionReleaseService; import com.sap.security.api.umfactory; import com.sapportals.portal.navigation.inavigationgenerator; import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.abstractportalcomponent; import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.iportalcomponentrequest; import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.iportalcomponentresponse; import com.sapportals.portal.prt.pom.ievent; import com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.portalruntime; import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.content; import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.icollection; import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.iresourcecontext; import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.resourcefactory; import com.sapportals.wcm.util.uri.rid; public class CustomLogout extends AbstractPortalComponent { public void doonnodeready(iportalcomponentrequest request, IEvent event) { //Adding the Portal Hits Counter Logic try { //Initialize the User and GroupFactory IResourceContext c = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getServiceContext("cmadmin_service"); try{ //Get the Repository Location and access the file String rlocation = "/documents/portalcount.properties"; String rlocationfolder = "/documents"; //Get RID of the file RID ridfile; ridfile = RID.getRID(rLocation); //Access the resource com.sapportals.wcm.repository.iresource resource = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(RID.getRID(rLocation),c ); //Get the content of the resource com.sapportals.wcm.util.content.icontent content = resource.getcontent(); //Create a properties object to store the content of the file. Properties prop = new Properties(); prop.load(content.getinputstream()); // Close the content to avoid memory problems. content.close(); String value = prop.getproperty("portalcount"); String newvalue=""; 2008 SAP AG 4
Integer bigint; int i1=0; //Get the property value, convert it to an Integer //and decrement its value. try { i1 = Integer.parseInt(value); } catch (NumberFormatException e2) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e2.printstacktrace(); } i1--; //Decrement the count bigint = new Integer(i1); newvalue = bigint.tostring(); //Load the properties object with the new value prop.put("portalcount",newvalue); //Delete the existing PortalCount.properties file //so that a new file can be created and uploaded back to KM. //Instead of deleting the resource, the contents //can also be updated using the required APIs. //In this case, the former option is used. resource.delete(); com.sapportals.wcm.repository.iresource resourcecreate; //The path of the folder and the file should be maintained. resourcecreate = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(RID.getRID(rLocationFolder),c); //Cast it to type Collection as it as repository folder com.sapportals.wcm.repository.icollection collection1 = (ICollection)resourceCreate; //Out stream to that file FileOutputStream fileoutput = new FileOutputStream("PortalCount.properties"); //Write in that file prop.store(fileoutput, null); 2008 SAP AG 5
fileoutput.close(); //Read from the file FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream("PortalCount.properties"); //Store the contents in Content object of KM Content con = new Content(fin,"text/plain",-1L); //Create the resource com.sapportals.wcm.repository.iresource newresource = collection1.createresource("portalcount.properties",null,con); con.close(); fin.close(); //Close all the IO operations to avoid memory problems. }//Close of 2nd try catch (com.sapportals.wcm.repository.resourceexception e1) { e1.printstacktrace(); } catch (com.sapportals.wcm.util.content.contentexception e1) { e1.printstacktrace(); } }//Close of 1st try catch(exception e){ e.printstacktrace(); } //End of Code to decrease the Portal hit count //Now we have to release the portal sessions so that //the log off action is complete. IWSRPSessionReleaseService wsrpsessionreleaseservice = (IWSRPSessionReleaseService)PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("WSRPSessi onreleaseservice"); 2008 SAP AG 6
wsrpsessionreleaseservice.releasesessions(request.getuser(), request.getservletrequest().getsession()); //Access the standard UME properties to check for other //actions set by the standard parameters String externalurl = UMFactory.getProperties().get("ume.logoff.redirect.url"); boolean silent = UMFactory.getProperties().getBoolean("ume.logoff.redirect.silent", false); if(externalurl!= null &&!externalurl.equals("") &&!silent) { request.redirect(externalurl); } else { INavigationGenerator navigationservice = INavigationGenerator)PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("com.sap.portal.n avigation.service.navigation"); String URL = navigationservice.getportalurl(request, null); request.redirect(url); }//End of immediate else }//End of doonnodeready public void docontent(iportalcomponentrequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response) { //This is the skeleton code generated by NWDS. } 2008 SAP AG 7
HeaderiView.jsp 5. Modify the HeaderiView.jsp The HeaderiView.jsp file is modified to call the CustomLogout component which we have created now. We have to only modify the value of LOGOFF_REDIRECT_COMPONENT. Change the value of this String variable as follows: //Custom log off component called. final String LOGOFF_REDIRECT_COMPONENT="CustomLogout"; portalapp.xml 6. Modify the portalapp.xml The CustomLogout component created now through the AbstractPortalComponent wizard, automatically creates an entry in the portalapp.xml. If it is not created, then create a component in the portalapp.xml with the following details: And add the relevant source code in Source tab if the creation doesn t reflect in the Source tab. Choose the Application tab and add the following for SharingReference : Knowledgemanagement usermanagement 7. Refer to the Note section before build and deploy. 8. Build the project and deploy. 9. Next time, when we login and log off; the count is increased only once even after redirecting to login page SAP AG 8
Note Custom Log off Component Summary i.add the relevant KM jar files using the following path from NWDS: Choose Java Build Path from the Project properties. Click on Add variable Select the ECLIPSE_HOME variable and click on Extend. Choose the plugins folder. Select the com.sap.km.rfwizard_ folder -> lib folder. (The folder name can vary depending on the NWDS version being used.) Select all the available jars and click OK. Logon page called Count increased. Confirmed Log off action (i.e. choosing Yes while log off) Capture the log off action and decrement the count. Since log off action redirects to the logon page, the count is increased again. Hence, the count is increased only once during a complete session SAP AG 9
